Kenneth Zohore attracts interest from Fenerbahce despite Cardiff City struggles —

reports - Wales Online / Dominic Booth

Monday 26th November 2018

Struggling Cardiff City striker Kenneth Zohore may have been offered an escape route to Turkish giants Fenerbahce, if reports are to be believed.

Turkish media outlet Haber claims that Zohore is "seriously" considering an offer from Fenerbahce, who are not seeing the best from on-loan Leicester City striker Islam Slimani this season.

Zohore hasn't started a Cardiff game since the 2-1 defeat to Burnley, has failed to find the net this season and has seen Callum Paterson and Danny Ward shoot ahead of him in the pecking order.

Neil Warnock has been vocal in his criticism of Zohore this season, with the Dane's loss of form remaining a mystery to many.

"Theoretically, Ken Zohore should be my main man," he said earlier this season.

"Apart from cooking him a meal I don't know what else to do with Ken!" he said on another occasion.

The report claims an official bid has been made for Zohore from Fenerbahce, which Warnock will consider.

The 24-year-old's contract expires at the end of the season and it looks unlikely that the Bluebirds will want to renew on current form.

Apparently Zohore never signed a new contract and was keeping his options open.

He scored nine goals last term and 12 the season before after Warnock reignited his form following a slow start in South Wales.

"Apparently Zohore never signed a new contract and was keeping his options open."
If that's true, with premier league football with us, it answers a big question.

I’m pretty sure he did sign a contact extension about 12 months ago and his contract expires at the end of next season

But I could be wrong..either way I think it’s best for everyone if he moves on

I think he has been a complete let down imo neil did' nt sign another striker stating that it was' nt any better than what we got so zohore new he was the main man and as a fully paid pro has not even performed in tranning hence his lack of game time the very 2 people that i thought would step up in the premier zohore and holliet have let the side down i will be glad when lang comes back a man who has the right attitude so imo get rid zohore along with madine and get 2 strikers in because if we get only 1 he will probably get injured 1st game.

He did sign a 2 year extension on his contract around 8 months ago, his contract is up end of season 2020

For me if he is fit he starts.

He hasn’t really started that many games this season, he came back from an injury at the start of the season when we were parking the bus and creating nothing. He got dropped for a couple of games and then came back against Burnley where I thought he did well and then got injured I think.

He seems to be the scapegoat from what I seen.

Sorry his normal contract would have expired in 2019, but he signed a two year extension so his current contract expires in 2021 not 2020 as I posted above

It looks like zohore is as lazy in training as he has been on the pitch, Warnock originally put his trust in him but it hasn't been repaid. Exit door for Ken.

Hopefully get a striker who has a point to prove and will bust a gut in doing so

Sell him and use the fee money and his wages money towards bringing in a better striker, more money we can spend on one the better quality we will be able to get

The source for this seems very unreliable . They were linking us during the summer with everyone from Russian World Cup strikers to Bobby Charlton, so this is probably nonsense.

The season will be over before Kenneth makes himself available seriously its not using zohore as a scapegoat neil has made comments a few times on his commitment "apart from making his breakfast there is' nt much more i can do for him " etc

" ...... has seen Callum Paterson and Danny Ward move ahead of him in the pecking order"

The way Ken has been playing this season I reckon Etheridge is ahead of him for the striker's role at the moment.

Although Ken's probably still ahead of Madine. :o :o

Neil says things for effect, his usual trick is to say something like that and then start them. Warnock is pretty predictable with his comment.

Sell him.

Re: ' Kenneth Zohore Attracts Interest '

Everyone quick to criticise, just like they were with Kadeem. Most people didn't even have him in their 25. Comments like "sell him" and "get rid" were common, yet look at Kads now. He had a rough time with injury, just like Ken is having now. Inuries....even a series of niggly ones are bound to affect your form. If he goes I think we'll regret it one day. Lots more to leave in January ahead of big Ken to make way for new signings in my opinion.

The usual excuses for him are that he is either a big unit, not fully fit after an injury or we don't play to his strengths. Not sure if I've missed any out, but my personal view is that he is simply not good enough. I've been waiting and hoping that he will hit some form, but I doubt if it will happen. I'm still hoping because we need someone to do a bit up front, but I think I'll be saying exactly the same in another twelve months if he is still with us. I would love to be proved wrong big time, but I have never though a lot of him apart from a brief period when everything he tried worked out brilliantly.

Then when he does well elsewhere I'd bet the same people will be the first to moan we got rid of him.

I agree with this and your earlier one about if fit he starts..defo our best option up front by a big margin and could yet be the player that makes the difference between being competitive but not getting a result and actually chalking up some points.

Last time Warnock had a go at Zohore was before the Burnley game and I said then I bet he starts.... He did and did well.

Maybe he has changed his ways

Dogfound.I think Ken has been at last chance Saloon a few times, if he gets yet another chance. , hope he doesn't mind doing some chasing as Patterson runs his socks off for the team and he hasn't had too much service.

I really like Patterson but he quite simply does not possess the quality Zohore does....and our problem at the moment is not effort its lack of quality..

BBC are correct that he signed an extension to his contract but it was for two years not one

Zahore signed a three-year contract with the Bluebirds in July 2016. so his normal contract was due to expire July 2019, but he signed a two year extension, meaning that his contract now expires July 2021

Well sometimes a change is good for a player. I thought Ken would do really well in this league , but it's obviously not happening for him here. I don't forget his great contributions in the past and I don't blame him but unfortunately it's not working out. However, if he does better elsewhere that'd be great for everyone .
