Chants that shouldn't happen

Fri Nov 02, 2018 2:08 pm

1. England run from Russia. - wtf, what had it got to do with us? 2. The chant that contains "touched by their fathers at the age of 10 - again, wtf, appaling. 3. England is full of shit - most of our players and coaching staff are English - wtf. No wonder we don't hear our fans singing on MOTD as they turn off the mics by the away end!

Zzzzzzzz

We are not the greatest team in football either.

Most people in Swansea don't eat dead rats.

Peter Thorne never wore a magic hat

Most people wouldn't have let Kevin McNaughton shag their wife.

TBYFATYO is not great I agree the other two are just banter between fans tbf.

All of the above is true, well except for the dead rats.

Re: Chants that shouldn't happen

Why don’t we just sit on our hands in silence?

They also make our fans sound like morons......

Re: Chants that shouldn't happen

well most fans must be morons because most football fans enjoy banter and winding up the opposition fans

Why and what would you rather they chanted.

Here's a few for him

Hark now here the Cardiff sing, Swansea is our friend, and we'll hold hands forever more our violent past we'll mend.

Oh England, is full of joys, oh england is full of joys, let's all hold hands, skip and be merry, and all cheer on our boys.

So you guys actually chant "England run from Russia" ? Get a f*****g life

Re: Chants that shouldn't happen

Fri Nov 02, 2018 6:39 pm

Disagree with the OP but I do find it cringeworthy when we sing England run from Russia, just tedious and makes you want to cover your face with embarrassment when it's sung personally.

I'm a normal working class bloke in his fifties, and join in with the rest of the chants but the ones I mentioned make cringe as well. You can forgive some of the coked/pissed up kids but to see blokes my age chanting them is pathetic. We definitely have an element of knuckledraggers though, especially at away games

This post has shown that we have both sensible and moronic fans. Interestingly, I'm also a relative of the late Dan O'Neill :bluescarf:

So you are happy to admit that you think those chants are 100% fine, and there's nothing cringeworthy about any of them? :digging2:

I don’t really care what people chant. Each to their own. I ain’t that precious to care, if people think it’s cringeworthy or not. Write to the club if it bothers you that much. I’m sure they could make a lovely fans charter up on how not to offend fellow fans. You could write some new songs up and actively encourage singing lessons.

Cool story bro

Sometimes I chant “Oh Joey Ralls is full of s***” as an appreciation of his English heritage. 8-)

Whilst I don’t lose sleep over it, I tend not to sing the chants mentioned by the OP and instead focus my efforts into the pro Cardiff City songs. :bluebird:

I expect you are that precious. If they were chanting racist things or Nazi slogans you'd probably be going nuts.
Not a question of all that stuff you said though. People have just noted that they make idiots of themselves , the Club and everyone else with these shennanigans and suggested that they might have a word with themselves .
We often quite rightly congratulate our fans for being like an extra man in the team, so it's not unreasonable to mention it when a minority of retards seem determined to have the opposite effect.

The songs now are a lot tamer now than what they were a few years ago

Re: Chants that shouldn't happen

Our support has been absolutely fantastic this season.

The vast majority of our songs are pro Cardiff. If you attended Cardiff games home or away people would know that.

You tend to find the Oh England, and England run from Russia songs start after the opposition start singing England, GSTQ or Sheep Shaggers. It's banter between fans, not one sided and works both ways.

If the OP had come on and said the 'touched by your father' song was out of order you would be hard pushed to find many people who would disagree but seriously this post just smacked of someone bored in the house thinking 'what can I moan about today'.
