MY VIEW:IT WAS ALREADY GOING TO BE AN UP HILL TASK BUT TO CO

MY VIEW / MY OPINION

IT WAS ALREADY GOING TO BE AN UP HILL TASK BUT TO CONCEDE WITH IN 10MINS MEANT IT WAS GOING TO BE VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO GET ANY KIND OF RESULT AT ANFIELD / CARDIFF RAN THEIR HEARTS OUT / BUT WERE NEVER REALLY IN THE GAME.

Cardiff fans once again were fully behind the Bluebirds and in fine voices :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Liverpool had 86% possession to Cardiff's 14% possession in the the first-half.

First-half: Liverpool dominated possession and even though they never created as much in front of Cardiff's goal,Liverpool could of been 3-0 up.

Second-half City played a lot better and for 15mins had ago but in the end the quality of Liverpool shone through.

81% possession Liverpool / 19% possession Cardiff.

LIVERPOOL 4 CARDIFF CITY 1
Crowd
Away Support 3,000 Cardiff fans :bluebird:

Cardiff: Etheridge, Manga, Morrison, Bamba, Bennett, Gunnarsson, Camarasa, Murphy, Reid, Hoilett, Paterson.
subs: Smithies, Connolly, Cunningham, Damour, K.Harris, Madine, Zohore :bluebird:

Livepool dominated from the first minute and deserved to score after 10mins,Salah 1-0 10,Cardiff blocked twice but third time lucky for Liverpool.

Van Dyke hit the post with a header after 13 mins.

The game went very stale for long periods.

In the 45th Sean Morrison made a clearance off the line with the last action of the half!

H/T 1-0

Cardiff were very much more in the game the second-half and actually in the first 15mins created a couple of chances.

61st min Xherdan Shaqiri replaced Lallana for Liverpool.

Second handball appeal against a Cardiff player was waved away. Murphy involved this time.

66thmin Liverpool scored their second goal and through Sadio Mane, again Cardiff failed to clear and they were made to pay for it. An arrowing shot from Mane 2-0

Loic Damour replaced Gunnarsson.

Kadeem Harris came on for Murphy in 74th min.

Hoilett with a nice exchange with Reid and then his cross was deflected off Van Dijk... and Paterson was on hand to tap home from inside the six yard box. 2-1 Callum Paterson :thumbright: :bluebird:

Kenneth Johore came on for Bobby Reid.

85th min Shaqiri puts it to bed with a cool finish 3-1

87th min Mane streaked through and dinked it over Etheridge into the net 4-1

F/T 4-1

What a shame the Bluebirds concede 2 late goals but on to the Leicester game now and on to 3 points

Liverpool fans poor. Plastics every one of them, I'd rather lose 4-1 and have the passion that we have than pretend to be a Welsh scouser. SCUM

That'll do !
Despite the scoreline, the boys got better and looked less overwhelmed than they'd been by lesser opponents.
At this rate we'll be up to standard and start to go hunting soon. The progress is noticeable and consistent and the only concern is whether it'll take more time and games than we have.
Don't think it will though. Fortunately the other teams with problems fared no better than Cardiff City did so no change, but unlike us they seem to be getting worse each game and I think we'll pass them comfortably before long.

As the original poster said, it was always mission impossible at Anfield, but we can grab a few points in the next games .

Well done lads. Sounded loud and didn't stop all game. Really surprised at Anfield. So quiet in the stand I was in. To put in perspective, CCS where I sit, 116 Ninian is much much louder! And we moan about our stadium not having an atmosphere!! I nearly lost it when Paterson scored right in front of me though! Proud bluebird tonight.

P.s. got some vids I'll upload later on WiFi.

It's a shame we seem to fall apart a little bit in these games towards the end. Could be down to tiredness and concentration having so little of the ball. It was always going to be a rough ask but other results went perfectly.

Big game Saturday now.

Have to disagree with that bit. At 2-1 we were right in it and were having a real go.

Quality told in the end but the last 2 games have given me real hope we could actually do this !!

We thought we were as the scoreline looks like it, but Liverpool only had to go up a notch and bang they took control again as the facts state.

Possession 80% by Liverpool and 4 goals, could of been 6.

Annis despite the possession and shots against stats it really was city's own doing that they conceded 4 goals, bit more savvy in defending and score could have been better

Watching Leicester they look perfectly beatable as do Brighton. Should get a minimum of 4 hopefully 6 points. :ayatollah:

Our central defenders are not good enough at this level.

You can contend against quality with pure grit and that is what we did.

Problem is trying to keep that going for 90 minutes is impossible. Twice we have let 2 goals in the last 10 minutes against quality. I won't lose too much sleep over it.

Good observation that. It can only be fitness can't it ?
Understandable since they're putting so much extra effort in to keep up in this league and maybe they're pretty much at the peak of their personal fitness potentials - if that's the case the only other alternative is to structure the pace a bit to conserve some energy

I just think chasing shadows for such a long time will have that effect. Its a concern as it may come down to goal difference. Potentially worth a point.

It's because of the attacking changes we've had to make. We made more attacking subs to try and pinch an equaliser and this gave Chelsea and Liverpool more space to take advantage and score 2 extra late goals. The same also happened at Bournemouth. There could be one game where the attacking subs work and we snatch a draw, and that extra point could be the difference.

yes I agree, its a calculated risk but at one goal down you have to go for it { which in my opinion you are spot on about }..and yes if it works once in 6 but costs us 10 goals in the other 5 that 1 point is more valuable than the goal difference..

Spot on Ian, in the end the quality shines through and we either just lose or get hammered.

The facts show it, one win from 11 games.
