Have to disagree with that bit. At 2-1 we were right in it and were having a real go.
Quality told in the end but the last 2 games have given me real hope we could actually do this !!

Despite the scoreline, the boys got better and looked less overwhelmed than they'd been by lesser opponents.
At this rate we'll be up to standard and start to go hunting soon. The progress is noticeable and consistent and the only concern is whether it'll take more time and games than we have.
Don't think it will though. Fortunately the other teams with problems fared no better than Cardiff City did so no change, but unlike us they seem to be getting worse each game and I think we'll pass them comfortably before long.
As the original poster said, it was always mission impossible at Anfield, but we can grab a few points in the next games .

Good observation that. It can only be fitness can't it ?
Understandable since they're putting so much extra effort in to keep up in this league and maybe they're pretty much at the peak of their personal fitness potentials - if that's the case the only other alternative is to structure the pace a bit to conserve some energy

I just think chasing shadows for such a long time will have that effect. Its a concern as it may come down to goal difference. Potentially worth a point.

It's because of the attacking changes we've had to make. We made more attacking subs to try and pinch an equaliser and this gave Chelsea and Liverpool more space to take advantage and score 2 extra late goals. The same also happened at Bournemouth. There could be one game where the attacking subs work and we snatch a draw, and that extra point could be the difference.

Problem is trying to keep that going for 90 minutes is impossible. Twice we have let 2 goals in the last 10 minutes against quality. I won't lose too much sleep over it.
