I saw today as not a must win but a must not lose, but our defence is abysmal for this level and I honestly can't see any way of staying up

Zero

We are relegated end of. It just a case of how pathetically small our points total will be. Very sad to start a season and have nothing to look forward to until next September.

Absolutely correct; a pithy and meaningful post in my opinion

Zero... if your a realist

100% guarantee relegation

We could survive, but it would need unfortunately a change of manager and a further 30-40 million spent in January at least.
My only concern is how far behind fourth from bottom will we be by then, and would it be worth spending anything by that time.

Our only hope is we are still within a decent distance of 17th and we can invest but even if we do our players play a certain way and warnock is the best option to get anything from them so it is what it is..

Warnock is in desperate need of a number two with some tactical nouse. Leave man management up to him.

If anyone thinks we are staying up they are on acid.
Sun Sep 30, 2018 6:20 pm
After watching that today it's very hard to see how we can survive, we aloud a very poor burnley team to steal, the 3 points, the defending for the two goals was a joke, school boy errors. We also have a serious lack of premiership quality in the whole squad, it's a shame that tan wasn't prepared to spend more money in the summer to give us a fighting chance, as much as i love warnock he is NOT a premiership manager, for me he is out of his depth.
Sun Sep 30, 2018 6:26 pm
Zero with the investment given.
The philosophy of bouncing back next season is totally flawed I'm afraid.
Why would these players who have failed in the premier league be upbeat about winning promotion again ?
It's a crying shame as we were given a chance and have fluffed our lines.
Sun Sep 30, 2018 6:27 pm
We'll stay up. Just. 17th place. Goal difference.
Sun Sep 30, 2018 6:41 pm
Not going to happen.
The players are trying hard but they are not good enough.
The owner has shown no ambition to stay in the division.
The manager is trying to work miracles in a division he has admitted he does not like with his hands tied behind his back.
Team spirt, man management and fantastic support will unfortunately NOT be enough to keep a team up.
Quality players will and unfortunately we do not have enough of them.
Sun Sep 30, 2018 6:46 pm
All we need is a striker, a right back and an assistant who know how to tweak tactics. Then we got all we need to survive.
Sun Sep 30, 2018 6:57 pm
We are where we are.
Warnock and backroom staff drained every ounce of talent from an average championship team and somehow got us promoted.
The owner wants out and has wanted out on his terms since the last unsuccessful stint in the premier league.
I feel for the newer fans who didn't understand the situation and never realised that the premier league was a big ask for an average championship squad.
It make little difference to me as i will be there next season. We could have been playing Rotherham yesterday instead of being the super sunday game (hidden behind the golf though)
No, I don't think we survive, but we wont be heading for financial crisis in L1 next season either.
All we have proved this season is quite good for a prospective buyer. We can sell out a 33k stadium if in the premier league when the fans are onside.

I agree 110% with every point you make and if nothing else; VT will have saved this club and put us on a firm financial footing when he sells but please, please, please let the next owner be rich enough to have some real ambition and take the FINANCIAL shackles off player recruitment and allow the manager to properly strengthen the team to make a decent fist of the EPL - otherwise what is the point of striving for promotion from the Championship!!?

Perhaps IF we ever get promoted again we could ask if we could have the money but actually stay in the Championship for the season.
Would save us the embarrassment of getting beaten every week but with all the financial benefits!
Maybe the Premier League will place a ban on teams who get promoted but then make little or no genuine attempt to stay up?
Surely the TV companies will want more value for their investment than seeing clubs with no ambition in the Premier League?
Sun Sep 30, 2018 7:21 pm
Slim chance if we play ultra defensive and go for 0-0 games on the off chance we sneak a breakaway or set piece goal. With our pay structure we have little or no chance of getting Prem quality unless we look abroad which is not the route NW usually takes. Maybe loan players is the way to go.

Pretty spot on post

3 from us Huddersfield Fulham Newcastle and Burnley will go I think, very likely us and Huddersfield will be two of the three.
Do think it could be as little as 30 will keep it's very uneven league in terms of quality.

A very disappointing result today but we actually played well. I agree there were a couple of bad mistakes at the back but I still think we were unlucky overall.
For all of you doom and gloom merchants, I say get a bit of perspective. Life’s not that bad! Chin up and let’s continue to give the team the backing we gave them today. Who knows, you might be surprised at the end of the season

Reality is we lost 7 points we should have bagged. If you can se where we can recoup that, kudos!
Sun Sep 30, 2018 7:54 pm
We would need a minimum of 13 wins ..... NO CHANCE
Sun Sep 30, 2018 7:57 pm
Far too early to write us off yet. Another day we could have picked up a comfortable win today.
Hart being man of the match says it all.
Call me a fool but I ain't giving up on us yet. Gonna be a long season though!

We played a team today and limited them to 2 Shots on target. We had a goal disallowed, hit a post, off the line clearance, penalty claim, keeper making good saves and a number of shots off target.
We will play worse and take something from the game.
I’m not giving up just yet

Warnock is and always will be one of my favourite city managers but my concern is he's focusing to much on individual errors and not realising that although Bamba and Morrison were absolute rocks last season they are not good enough to be left unprotected at this level. Morrisons lacks pace so backs off and gives players space around our box e.g.(Arsenals goal). With Bamba he has the habit of switching off in games and losing his man!! Did it today for the man who crossed the ball for Vokes, also Aresenals 2 goals etc. There's been the same pattern the last 4 games all their goals have come straight down our middle!! Any team who are weak down their spine go down, plane and simple!!
I know some people don't like him but we've got 1 natural sitting DCM and thats Gunner so he's got to start to protect the CBs.
We've got to stop leaking goals so for me the team has to be
GK Etheridge
RB Jazz
DC Morrison (only because of his heading ability in for setpeices)
DC Manga
LB Bennet
DCM Gunner
CM Patterson/Ralls
CM Arta
RW Murphy
LW Camarassa
ST Reid
Simple!! Keep some clean sheets and build from there!! We've got to be hard to beat to have any chance!!

My views on Warnocks ability to keep us up are well known to this board so I don't need to repeat my views again,in my humble opinion there is only one option for us now,I hope for Warnocks sake and our team,he resigns Monday morning and get Bellamy to take over untill we can get an experienced Premiership manager in place, we simply can't afford to to wait before we bite this particular bullet
