Will Bobby Reid be the new Tomlin?

I hope not I just don’t see where he fits in to a Warnock side. If he won’t play him as one of the three in midfield and won’t play him as a lone striker where does he play him? Will he try him wing if Hoilett and NML are out?

Keep him for next season he will score goals for fun when we get relegated.

True but the overall message is the same, is Reid needed.

I don't think so, but it's a concern that he isn't strong enough to play upfront and Warnock is generally a very cautious manager so how often we will see him as a number 10 I'm unsure. Time will tell on this one.

There is an element in both arguments that I agree with.

Considering NW had £10m of his budget remaining apparently to buy a "decent" striker at the end of the window and whilst we desperately needed a proven striker, £10m couldn't get us one, then its a reasonable question to ask why did we spend £10m on Bobby Reid and then not play him? Indeed if we didn't buy Reid then clearly it could be assumed we could have then had £20m for the striker we needed!

Whilst Bobby Reid is a proven Championship striker, I simply cannot see any sense in the view that he was a great buy because we can keep him to get us a hat full of goals "when" (not "if" mind) we are relegated!!? Why on earth would we need him to get us a hat full in the Championship - so we can get promoted to the EPL and then get relegated again - come on ffs!!

On what I've seen so far, Bobby Reid - in the few minutes he has had - looks more likely to score than does Zohore - who for me offers much but delivers little. I would play Bobby Reid alongside Zohore or Madine now - what have we got to lose - we certainly won't score any less goals than we are now and if we do get relegated we will have done so having a go and not with a whimper like we did with Malky/OGS!!

Perhaps Ron don, deeney, ings etc didn’t want to come to a club fighting relegation. 10m is nothing these days when you take the rise of tv money into account, so I can’t see how it can be compared to Cornelius who was also on 45k a week, Reid will be on no where near that. Plus Reid is contributing Cornelius contributed fucall.

You could put David silva in the 10 position and he would struggle in our team.

I believe that Reid would be at his best sitting just behind Zohore and playing off him and he will score. The problem is that NW likes playing with 2 wingers & it seems that’s at all costs and he is reluctant to break up the RAC combination (Ralls, Arter, Camarasa). i know we didnt start with him..but you can hardly describe Patterson as a winger..
im not 100% on the mid field 3 either...its much easier on the eye than last year..Etheridge rolled quite a few out which were then passed to our midfield..then zero..nothing..until that bloke got red carded.

Tomlin was in the match day squad all season when fit until loaned out.

Of course he can fit in. Currently, without gunnerson I don’t think we can play a 4-2-3-1 as Camarasa isn’t a ball winner.

Once Gunner is back he will give us a new dimension and another option, allowing us to adjust the formation with better balance.
