A month ago I was excited about being back in the Premier league, that's dwindled, I thought Tan would have been a little more ambitious this time around, we haven't got the squad depth we need to survive in my opinion, just can't see any players of quality coming in now, hopefully I'm wrong.

Ffs sick of reading utter crap like this. Endless posts. A year and a half ago we were heading for league 1. Just enjoy it. Warnock knows what he's doing.
Shall I tell you how big signings for big clubs did last season at the likes of villa and Middlesbrough???
They finished BELOW our boys because our boys are a very good side!!

Tan was very generous last time round ,had his fingers burnt.Tan has put this club on a very stable footing financially, I was always concerned for the safety of our club, constant years of financial doom and gloom. Thank you very much Mr Tan.

I can understand where you are coming from and I guess many feel the same however there are a couple of days Transfer days left and hopefully we manage to bring in a few quality signings. If we don’t bring in any quality signings then that is a different matter. Would it be the case of the club expecting miracles again from NW on a low budget or are we conceding defeat and waving a white flag to our Premier League status? Looks like we are everyone’s favourites to go down (press/other supporters) which is not surprising based on our current transfer activity & what we still need in certain positions (midfield/striker etc).
Hope the club pull a few rabbits out of the hat in the next couple of days (e.g. Niasse, Arslan, etc) to give the fans a boost before we kick off against Bournemouth. We have a great team spirit but that alone will not keep you in the Premiership most know that we could do with a bit of extra quality.
City have done the hard work and got into the top flight let’s give it a go.

give up the football then FFS when has it ever been easy supporting Cardiff??
last few years have been easy compared to the eighties I dread to think how some supporters these days would cope when we nearly dropped out of the league.
Tue Aug 07, 2018 9:52 am
Every body is entitled to an opinion why do they get berated and shot down
Tue Aug 07, 2018 10:11 am
Each to their own opinion however, believe me these are fab days.. how would you cope if we were in bottom tier..
just be grateful we have an owner that did t walk away and leave us in the dire.. we are doing ok...
I can't wait to go to Bournemouth on Saturday.. be proud of our club.
Tue Aug 07, 2018 10:15 am
Well if you talk shit on here you will get shot down
Take what we spent and what we have got in from player sales
Then do the same for the clubs we expect to be around us and you will see we've actually spent more

I think its unfair to slam people like the OP - they are Cardiff fans too.
We can all see the shortage in midfield and RB and up front if we are honest.
This shortage was apparent in the championship, let alone the premiership.
It is understandable that fans will get frustrated,it doesn't mean the end of the world as we go into the premier league but it can seem hard to swallow when we go in arguable weaker in certain areas.
I fully support Neil Warnock and the team - this is an opportunity to stabilize our club for years.
We have to go into it wise but with some bollox.

Well I'm on the side of the OP here and it is pathetic when some on here slag such a poster down for giving his opinion.
Makes me laugh those who are living in this positive world at the expense of leaving reality behind.
I think the OP has got reason for concern. Comparing the business we have done to our promoted rivals Wolves and Fulham it is obvously we are favourites to go down. For me we are gambling on hungry players instead of going for experience. I personally have no problem with that and if we pull it off great, if we don't then hopefully it puts us in good stead to bounce striaght back. My only fear is it totally backfires on us and we do a Derby going down with record low points. If that happens it will take a long time to recover.

be realistic, get called negative. its a common trait around here.
im not one for being negative and bringing the club and its players down like some posters do, but not everything that happens at the club is a positive thing, theres always some downsides weather its a defeat, lack of transfer activity, players not seeming good enough etc. nothing wrong with discussing these things, at the moment its the transfer activity, and its disappointing - but theres still 2 days to go

Good post, it's being realistic

Because it’s a f*cking stupid opinion.

As like eddiep a good sensible post. Not everyone is the same in life and different fans are going to have different opinions. It how you put your case or matter across is the important thing. Some on here call some posters ‘idiots’, etc if their thoughts are not consistent with their thinking. We all support Cardiff City and we all want the best for City and for them to succeed we just have different views on how to get to that goal. A posters opinion may be different from yours and vice versa but there is no need for some to abuse others or rants of ‘FFS’ for example if they have different opinions.
Many current threads obviously revolve around transfer dealings and money. Many think we should give it a go whilst others will fight tooth and nail that the clubs account for every penny spent and are convinced we will go bust if City spend too much. We should have confidence in the owner & board as they have put the club on a stable financial footing however on the other side if you invest a little you can forget about debts because they would be non existent. It’s a fine balancing act between wise sensible spending and reckless spending. Only the club really knows what can be afforded. I just hope that we spend the money that we can afford to spend and not try to retain our status on a shoestring budget. I also hope that there is no reckless spending beyond our means. We have debts but the club is likely to pick up 110+m this time around and every year if we stayed in the top flight.

Well let's remember those Keyboard warriors who wanted CITY to be back in Blue didn't care about the budget, what league we're playing in, just wanted to be in Blue, Then we had the keyboard warriors saying how they wanted to Club to live within its means.
The Club is doing all that and that's not good enough.
Tue Aug 07, 2018 12:18 pm
I see this season as pressure free.
A season to just enjoy watching our boys scrap it out with some fantastic teams and players.
A season that has put us in a great financial position and secured the club for at least the next 5 years allowing us to build a squad capable of staying up in the big league.
I will be dissapointed if we get relegated but looking at the squad and the money that will be available with the parachute payments i would expect a immediate return and investment on top of what we have at that point should see us able to sustain a premier league place. In all honesty we have gone up a year or so too early in terms of our squad but bang on time in terms of finances.

Did I say it wasn't enough I just said the abuse the op got was uncalled for stating his opinion.so dunno why your going on about the changing clothes and that coz I went to every march we had to get the blue back..
Tue Aug 07, 2018 12:26 pm
Vincent Tan and the board has not released enough funds and Neil Warnock is not doing a good enough job finding the players needed to stay up. Given a pot to piss in, he should taken his pot to a market he could use it.
Tue Aug 07, 2018 12:26 pm
I just don't understand the negativity with posters here and it seems posters are upset with some of the replies.
I am looking forward with positivity to the season come what may and feel sorry for those that cant/wont enjoy the season

We're in Blue should be happy. After all its what this place wanted and to hell with the Budget or what league were in. We're Cardiff City We're always Blue... The keyboard warriors got their wish and that's still not enough, what next the red seats in the ground?

that's the thing i don't understand, if we go down, there's absolutely no guarantees, if we have parachute payments behind us or not. its f*cking hard to get into the prem, we've tried spending big, as many others have, and looking at the teams who came down from the prem last season and how they fared.
we've overachieved last season thanks to warnock but can't see him hanging around to try for another promotion if we go down, which means we'll be starting afresh manager wise, as one of the many teams in the championship with parachute payments.
I agree with OP, he's not really slating tan or the staff just saying he's suprised by lack of ambition. Warnock himself seems dissapointed in how the window has gone, but I imagine nobody is writing in to Neil saying he should just be happy we're in blue
Tue Aug 07, 2018 12:54 pm
I think we need to judge the squad once the transfer window closes.

Looking at the signings weve made i would say he is covering all bases and building a squad of young hungry players who shine in the championship which is capable of bouncing straight back if the worst happens. They are not on mega money either like stoke and west brom players so most should stay including Warnock.
He said in his interview a few weeks ago thatvif he got sacked he would look for a new club and go for promotion #9.
Why not with us ?

Maybe the club's ambition is to stabilise the club financially. We won't do that by throwing millions of pounds away on journeymen players who are here to cash in rather than be part of something more long term.
Whatever we do this window we are up against it. I'm glad we have not gambled recklessly and if we go down then we do so in a much better shape than last time.

wheres the "abuse" that you feel is uncalled for exactly feel free to quotee it as id be interested in what you feel is abuse.
By the way there's a certain irony in you defending the OP then attacking others calling among other things "keyboard warriors" and "pathetic pricks".

I just hope that when it comes to the games themselves, people leave their worries about recruitment and negative thoughts outside, and get behind the team and manager, a few bad results though some of the boo boys will no doubt show their faces.
