Sir Neil has flown somewhere, not another mystery trip from Birmingham airport...?
Cardiff City assistant boss Kevin Blackwell revealed Neil Warnock had left the pre-season win over Burton Albion early to meet a transfer target.
The Bluebirds breezed past Burton Albion 5-1 after a spirited recovery, but with the transfer window drawing ever closer Warnock wasn't seen in the away dugout for the final half hour or so.
Instead, he went to catch a flight and potentially secure Cardiff's fifth summer signing.
Assistant Blackwell instead faced the media and revealed the gaffer's early exit.
There was plenty for former Millers boss Neil Warnock to ponder at full-time
"I’m talking to you because Neil has had to catch a flight to see a player," said Blackwell.
"We’re still looking at possible signings but in terms of preparation, the lads showed how much fitter they were second half and that’s what we’ve been looking at.
"I can’t tell you who he’s gone to talk to as I think there will be other clubs looking at him as well.
"What we’ve noticed since stepping up is that whenever we’ve sent scouts to games, everyone else is there too so we’ll keep this quiet.
"We feel we need something in midfield and we know the window closes on August 9 and doesn’t open again until January 1st. We have to go five and a half months without bringing a player in so we feel we have to get some more cover in midfield and up-front."
After the game against Rotherham on Wednesday night, Warnock revealed he had a 'back up' in case his pursuit of Liverpool's Marko Grujic is not successful.
Blackwell said Grujic remains a target but the ball is in Liverpool's court.

Maisse from everton kick off at 5.30pm
Sat Jul 28, 2018 4:26 pm
Few 3pm kick offs nearby, within an hour. He might have time to catch some of second half? Doubt that would be enough though! Doesn't seem to be much later tonight. Unless he's off to the pub and TV to watch Chelsea v Inter and United V Liverpool.
Possibles nearish?
Nottm Forest v Bournemouth?
Derby v wolves?

Game is in France. Possible though.

Blackwell made a point of saying he flew there
Sat Jul 28, 2018 4:28 pm
Ok. Now I didn't know he was catching a flight. Lol.
Ok. France by 1730 kick off? Our game ended at approx 4pm. Don't think it'll be that one.
Ummm.... Back to drawing board...

Think he’s just going to meet the player, not watch hum

If he's watching a player , with just about 12 days left of the window.
That is cutting it fine , so I would imagine he knows who he wants, and is going to have a sit down with him and his agent , maybe tomorrow.

Arslan, plus niassie
Sat Jul 28, 2018 6:35 pm
Burton - Flights from Birmingham to Turkey today - Tolgay Arslan?
We are all guessing however Arslan would be a good signing. Recent reports on Twitter have suggested that there has been contact.
Niasse would be a decent signing as well.

Birmingham or east Midlands airport he could of flown from
Sat Jul 28, 2018 7:47 pm
Please be arslan, just to see my turkish friends face,he has been pissed of with me saying we are in for him

If NW has gone to speak to a player then
A bid has been accepted by the club holding the players registration (cash or loan) or
The player is a free agent

Correct Tim.
Name not mentioned here nor has he been linked with us so far this summer.
Needs to be done urgently to stop other potential suitors, which is why Warnock has flown to him.
Not a done deal yet.
Sat Jul 28, 2018 10:30 pm
Probably gone to meet Grukic and get him signed up

Did some detective work after seeing a rumour about it being Vlad Chiricheș he was speaking to, hense the “number of clubs after him” comment. And it adds up, Pirelli Stadium to East Midlands Airport is 30 minutes drive and with the need to be at the airport a couple of hours before the flight, he probably got there about 16:00ish A flight was supposed to leave EMA for Naples at 18:45 but was delayed till 20:40. So based on the fact there was a delay, I’m certain Warnock was going to Naples to speak with Vlad because after all, City never do anything the easy way.

You could be onto something here mate. His career has stagnated a bit at Napoli, looks like a squad player. He’d probably be available for peanuts. He’s only 28 and can cover several positions including defensive midfield. A bit underwhelming if true but our midfield desperately needs bodies.

Didn't Stoke supposedly have a bid of around £13million turned down for Chiriches last week?
