I don't normally criticise City players but this guy? Well...

Having watched the iplayer highlights of the Rotherham and Torquay matches, it is obvious that Madine is just hopeless.

£8m for Waghorn is a bargain compared to the £6m spent on him.

Warnock may be good at signing certain players but his forward acquisitions leave a lot to be desired.

Madine makes Warren Feeney and Eddie Johnson look lethal up top.

I fear for us if Kenneth Zohore doesn't start off well.

He’s shit end of, bad buy by Warnock on this one, I think we all knew before he even played he would be shit can’t see how Warnock didn’t see it.

Cheers Danny. Thanks for the update

Good to see our fans getting right behind the players. Be interesting to see how far into our first home game we get before the slating starts. Probably 10 minutes or so. I expect there are plenty of us who have doubts about certain players, not sure if many would actually call one of their own shit on the club forum though.

Madines turn today

odds on who gets slaughtered tomorrow...

Etheridge...1/2...hasnt been a poor distribution thread for a while..
NML......EVS..to my knowledge hasnt had the honour yet so must be due.
Gunner....6/4...hasnt been one today so real good chance he gets it in the morning.
Zohore....3/1...price might drop if pple find out he didnt score in training today.
Jazz......4/1 ..because he is from Swansea
Reid.....5/1..because he is from Bristol.

What about the Damour ‘plainly not up to it’
and Paterson ‘what exactly is his position’
Ralls ‘not good enough for EPL’ - ooops sorry. We’ve had that one.

Re: Gary Madine

Fri Jul 27, 2018 3:43 pm

We all have our opinion on who we think are good enough and who are not good enough that’s just normal. I think some of them who haven’t played in the prem before may surprise a few while others who we think maybe good enough may not quite live up to expectations. I am looking forward to seeing who can make the step up and who cant.

Let's face it 6 million quid and he's terrible. I can't see him improving either, He's just along for the prem ride picking up a great wage and don't forget his sign on bundle which was probably near 1million in his pocket.

invariably the players getting slaughtered are those not doing what that particular poster wants...that isnt the same thing as being poor or not doing the job they were picked to do...
its not like a dozen or so posters havent tried in vain to put over a different perspective, because they have..
yet you and a few others rather than look a bit harder prefer to think our manager is blind , has favourites,is bloody minded...
its not how you win games or promotion though ,decent managers will pick players they can not stand over players they like if thats what is required...

Re: Gary Madine

Fri Jul 27, 2018 4:07 pm

There's a way to give a structured precis of why you think a player is good or not up to it.

You are getting shit because you use words like hopeless and a few others said he's shit.

He is none of these. Shit is one of us taking the pitch for Cardiff.

Get some courtesy and and objective opinion instead of joining the growing trend within social media of people just being nasty.

those being called shit just won an against the odds promotion.
and our club are not in a position to upgrade them.
so next year we need mostly the same group to pull off an against the odds escape from the drop zone..

Ok he’s well below par  not Prem material by a mile off, and what did he contribute to promotion ?

Made a very important header assist for a goal to get us three points, if he had not done that we would have ended up in the playoffs, people on here need to get real and support the players not slag them off!

How come we're not in a position to upgrade? We haven't broken any FFP rules recently that I'm aware of.

And can you imagine what some would be saying if Malky bought Madine and Tomlin? They cost us £8m and if we believe some posts are both on £30k/wk.

Re: Gary Madine

There was a time when we had 11 shit players and were down the bottom of the lowest division. We still tried to get behind the players because they were playing for our team. Probably old fashioned, but we used to save the abuse for the opposition and tried to encourage our own. Back in the days before keyboard warriors I suppose, looks like it's cool to call your own players shit in the modern era. I know we have players who are probably not Premier League quality, but they are still our players and I expect a lot of them read this forum. I thought we would all be in this together for what is going to be an uphill struggle for the next 9 months or so. I read about the club, players and fans being united. Maybe not.

most sides doubled him mate which means they were bothered by him.the knock on effect of that is you have midfielders dropping back and full backs being drawn in..he created holes everywhere.
now if you just dont want to see it you never will, but our manager does ...
and thats the bit i proper dont get...Warnock picks these guys to do a job..with some players its easy for fans to see the attributes and the job they do , fast, tricky, good shot etc..with others its not so obvious..but you can bet your life they are there for a purpose ..now you can either figure out what or just assume the player is shit and therefore the manager dont know what he is doing and won promotion because he is lucky

What makes you think Zohore has any better a chance than Madine of doing well in the Premiership next season?

Madine scored more goals in the Championship than Zohore last season despite the two lads playing most of the season at Clubs at polar ends of the table.

You have written off Madine based on highlights in friendlies?? Hasn't Madine scored 3 in pre-season and Zohore 0?

How come Madine is getting the criticism but Zohore escapes and retains his 'golden balls' standing.

For me, they both have exactly the same chance of doing well next season. Zohore, who hasn't exactly 'ripped up' the Championship could quite easily be totally out of his depth next season same as anyone else, as could Madine.

Lets just wait and see

Re: Gary Madine

All of us have different opinions. I believe there are probably about half a dozen of our players not up to Premier League standard however they all play for Cardiff City. Therefore they should all be supported.

Fair to say that some do not instill confidence that they can make it at the top grade however these players may prove the doubters wrong. Give them a chance and see how it turns out. Hopefully NW will get the best performing 11 on the pitch. Role on the new season.

Can't get my head around how anyone can slate a player based on watching a few minutes of action in a training session. He may not be able to hack it in the PL, but at least give him the opportunity to prove he is not capable of Premier League football. I suspect there are quite a few others who will struggle, but how can you write someone off without giving them a chance? Warnock obviously thinks he's worth a punt. Like others have already said, we may have a few players who will surprise us one way or the other.
