The one that baffled me the most is Matts Moller Daehli, not because he was a flop. But because how clearly talented he was and was still so young, I don't know why he sold someone like that as if he had a couple of good seasons with us we could have made a fortune in the transfer window then. Instead, we sold him as soon as we could after Ole left...

He may be talented but he hasn't exactly set the world on fire since he left us. Played in the german 2nd dividion for fc st pauli the last couple of years

Why is his signing baffling?

Neil Warnock had little choice when he came as the window was closed. Took a chance on some free agents, Bamba and Hoillett worked out. Chamakh and Richardson didn't.

Uruguayan I think he was, and of course when we signed him we had some expert scouts on here who said he would be better than Coates who was at Liverpool at the time

I think he played in one of those FAW Cup games they had for a few seasons in one of those games where there were more people on the pitch than in the stands.

I seem to remember him missing a penalty in a shoot out but I could very well be imagining that!

Solomon Taiwo. A very ordinary player for league two side Daganham and Redbridge who was about their seventh best player. We paid £250,000 for him on the basis of one fairly good game against us in the cup. Predictably he turned out to be the lower division donkey he always was.
