The 6 new signings

Mon May 07, 2018 4:20 pm

Who do you think the 6 new signings are that neil warnock has said we will need to stay up ?

Going on the good business man that our neil is im assuming we wont be spending big but i think he has mentioned that he knows who he wants already,

Id like too see these

Wayne hennessey (free) gk
Ryan fredericks (free) rb
Joe allen (8-10 million) cm
Tom cairney (10 million) cm
Abel hernandez (free) st

Theres some really good talents going on frees in the prem as well, looking at realistic targets on there what do people think about these ?

Bakory sakho (free) left wing
Yohan cabaye (free) cm

Who would you add/take away etc ?

Re: The 6 new signings

Mario Ballotelli is a free agent aswell.
Shame his wages would be way too high for us . Would love to see him in a city shirt

Think we’d be lucky to get Cairney for 10m....but it obviously depends how Fulham do I’m the play offs and how much interest there is

That’d be awesome but who’d put up the 100+k pw wage?

Re: The 6 new signings

Mon May 07, 2018 4:27 pm

I dont think we would get a player like Cairney or Joe Allen.

I like the rest of the list though and think they are probably about the level we are looking at.
Johan Cabaye would be a great signing.
Id also like to see a few top championship players come in like Samuel Saiz at leeds and Forestieri at Sheff Wed and Jack Colback.
We should build a squad to walk the championship if we get relegated not gamble on big name players and get lumbered with huge wage bills.

I quite liked the look of Ryan Woods from Brentford. Might be a touch small though for a Warnock team

Re: The 6 new signings

Imagine bringing yaya toure here

Huge wages but bringing massive ammounts of quality with him ?

Would raise the profile of the club as well potentially bringing in more revenue ?

If we could persuade him to join on a year deal maybe shirt sales coukd contribute to his wages ?

Would you sign him ?

James Maddison from Norwich !

He is on a free transfer

I think that's the type of player we need

Re: The 6 new signings

NW has already stated we will be buying wisely.
If we go down we then, would not need to sell and also be in a position to go straight back up.
Sound business sense to me, remember last time with Medel, Caulker etc.
Make no mistake if we had not gone up this year our finances would have necessitated quite a few player sales.
Its not even the players fees that contributed to our financial problems, the wages we paid were ridiculous for a 1st season in the premiership.
Now , we can build a squad with real meaning and quality.

Re: The 6 new signings

I'd bet money on us seeing more than 6 signings. We need 7 as a very bare minimum, probably 8 or 9.

Fair point but I presume he’d need paying a decent wage (on top of a Birthday card!)

Totally agree and don't be surprised to see 4/5 moved on or loaned out for the season ( Maybe..Danny Ward, Bogal, Pilks, Kadeem,Peltier, Connolly and Tomlin)

Totally agree, he might want 6 new players but will also want to replace those who go out.

Cairney will cost £20 million and will sign for a better team than us

Joe Allen is a possibility and definitely the type of midfielder we need

Don't think Madine will be here either

I think Pilks is out of contract? I’d definitely keep Pelts in the squad but totally agree with the others + Halford

Re: The 6 new signings

Mon May 07, 2018 5:32 pm

I'd love Cairney but is he another Whitts Or McPhail ? And if we did get him thats Gunnar gone because in a 4231 there is no way Gunnar can play with a ball playing play maker as we recall in the ill fated Gunnar / Whitts non partnership of yesteryear.

Anyway, can't see us being able to afford Cairney, but where could he go ? He is 27 so in peak CM condition, but not top 6, Everton at best.

it will be really interesting to see which way we go

TBH I think he’d probably take that. But I think the transfer fee has at least doubled now we’re promoted? I can see him being loaned out to the highest bidder in the first instance.

Re: The 6 new signings

Cairney is class but he isn’t the type of player we need really

Re: The 6 new signings

I would like to see us sign big strong powerful players . Starting with Victor Wanyama .
We are not going to play teams off the park so lets just get stuck in.
A crazy gang mentality.

Re: The 6 new signings

Mon May 07, 2018 6:14 pm

We d be lucky to sign Allen, Fredericks etc I can see them going to more established prem teams. Warnock is gonna have to pull a few rabbits out of the hat as we ll struggle to sign the likes of Allen.

Re: The 6 new signings

Mon May 07, 2018 6:25 pm

Jack colback
Gareth mcauley or ryan shawcross?
Stephen Ireland
Rondon
Paul dummett
Grujic

Wanyama on loan would be ideal.

I don't see why getting Allen would be a problem if we want him and will pay.

I think Medine will remain.

Frederick will have a few teams after him because he is on a free.

Re: The 6 new signings

Mon May 07, 2018 6:49 pm

Salomon Rondon-WBA
Adama Traore- Boro
Dwight Gayle- Newcastle
Ryan Woods- Brentford
John McGinn- Hibernian
Gareth Mcauley- WBA

I would love to see him play for us and would be the one I broke the bank to get. He has matured and scored plenty for Nice the past couple of seasons and I think Warnock could handle him.

Re: The 6 new signings

Mon May 07, 2018 7:00 pm

Hennessy as back up GK
Would love to see Fabio back as a backup full back behind Jazz & Bennett
Patrice Evra

Those are the realistic ones we could sign who I wouldn’t mind one bit... but as far as being hopeful (but not too ridiculous) I would dream of getting...

Daley Blind and Fellaini (f**k it why not lol)
Santi Cazorla

Can you imagine getting those free agents. We’ll be laughing
