Fans going on pitch

Sun May 06, 2018 5:05 pm

Did people going on thee pitch spoil the celebrations for a lot of people?,A lot of people like myself could not see the end celebrations and their was not a lot coming up on the screens. I was expecting the team to come back out on the pitch and do a lap of honour within 20 minutes or so of final whistle

You must have left too early. The players and their families, did come on to do a lap of honour.

The players were never going on the pitch the trophy was ready to be presented before end game on level 3! Bit common sense by club

Did anyone think there wasn't gonna be a pitch invasion? The stewards in the family stand were helping kids over the barriers

There was a steward laying face down on the grass at one point by the canton end, looked like he'd had a clip. Anyone see what happened?

The club seemed to expect and welcome it, they just didn’t want it happening before the game was done.

I asked one of the stewards on the pitch after the game and he told me he’d had a panic attack but was fine.

Some of the comments are totally disrespectful of both disabled supporters who could see nothing of the presentation and also the players who must have really e noted walking around a near empty stadium. The club got after match celebrations totally wrong today

One so called. City fan with a bucket type hat ran on the pitch.... 1st invasion.... And basically rand straight into a steward hands to his face knocking old steward down. No need for it at all. He was caught and led away

I thought disabled sections were high up in corner of canton stand and grandstand each corner? With uninturupted view And the players were never going on pitch as presentation was on level 3 in grandstand? It was unfortunate that people in certain areas didn't see presentation but with best will in world it wouldn't have taken place st all with 20k fans on pitch at end of game :old:

Whilst understand not saying before game (not tempting fate) about presentation it could have been announced at end game what was happening?

We didn't know until saw cup stand and stewards making a route through to it well after final whistle! We were sitting just above area that's how we knew.! Just strange no anouncement at all even before game :old:

There was always going to be a pitch invasion, as what happens when ever a team are promoted. Get a grip like and let the fans enjoy it.

They were going to do it on the pitch but they couldn't get the fans back far enough so did it on level 3 instead. There was mass panic up there trying to sort it out.

Yes following disability I had to move my st to the corner and couldn't see any of the presentation but stayed to watch the players walk around a mostly empty stadium. Poor stewarding with no effort to move fans back after 10 minutes of rejoicing.

It didn't look like panic as the plynth for cup was in place before end game but what was silly was stewards in an area with business men and club guests in place to hold them back!!! Would have taken forever to clear pitch of 20k+ fans but maybe in hindsight should have asked fans to vacate pitch for presentation but like said it looked planned the presentation area.

In hindsight was a bit of a failure by club to ask fans to vacate pitch once things settled down I know previous years they have maybe just cought up in the hysteria of occasion? Sorry you didn't see ceremony guess only doing what they thought was right

You’re right, I saw the video. The f*cking coward I hope he gets caught.
The steward I was talking to must have either got his facts wrong or was told to keep it low profile I guess.

It is unfortunate but there was NO CHANCE the fans were going to stay off the pitch after going up during the game.

Had we sorted out promotion prior to this game then the announcements would have gone to stay off the pitch and the team would come out.

Emotions were too high and I feel for those that could not fully be involved in the celebrations.

He got caught ,When the steward got up onto his feet ,He pointed the lad out. Saw the lad in a shoulder lock being escorted out.
