Was working in the 'Castle Bar' in town that day, finished late that lunch time so ran down to the ground. Went in normal enclosure section, and as I got in City scored - jumped up and suddenly saw it was chelsea all around! Circle formed around me, but I saw about 8 other City at the front near the fence - all getting a kicking and giving as best back. Tried to get down towards them, thought safety in numbers lol. (think these were the lads in the pics), but got a few slaps. They then got turfed out by police and shown the way to the Bob. So made my way to the canton and got a steward to let me out pitch side, to go to the bobbank, afterproving I lived in Cardiff.
Afterwards - loopy! Think the police gave in and thought let them get on with it. Never seen Cardiff run so many times, all the side streets were manic.
When I got back in town, had to go into Burtons and get a new white shirt to work my evening bar shift, other one was ripped and bloody - mostly mine!
Never forgotten that day

The day was out of control for the police.
Chelsea had at least 1,000 lads and they were all over, in most places Cardiff held their own, but when Chelsea were together their organisation and numbers were to much for City and by the end of the day Chelsea ran the show.
Most of all Chelsea's top lads came to Cardiff that day.
I know all those Cardiff lads on the pitch.

I am sure we played Fulham home weeks before. There were 6 blokes down the front of the bob bank, writing notes and three deffo I saw come out of the side street half way up tudor street from the canton side with about 300-400 other chelsea. The Fulham game they got sussed pretty quickly around 20 minutes into the game and took a few but were led away.
They obviously did all their home work well!

If I rem right it was 3-1 Cardiff at the time and Chelsea left early to try and take the Bob Bank, it ended up 3-3.
