“ Kenneth Zohore “

Really disappointed with him today.

If he worked hard but nothing happened, then fair enough. But I don’t think he did.

Paterson was screaming at him to close down defenders on many occasions, and I can see why.

Paterson, on the other hand, chased everything. My MOTM :thumbright:

Agree he just doesn't look bothered anymore

Patterson was fuming, he lost his temper early in 1st half.

It’s funny how people see things differently. While I don’t deny Patterson had a good game, Man City were passing it between their two CBS and GK. And only Ken there to put pressure on. When Patterson did press he’d leave Fernandinho open which then created an attack. The movement of Man City was just on another planet. If we had a full team press fair enough, but with Just Ken doing the pressing he’s going to get run around everywhere. And by the end you could jus see he was demoralised. I thought Manga was superb today, couldn’t believe the people around me saying how bad he was playing.

I must have been watching a different game! Zahore run his arse off with no support! I thought Patterson tried pushing up and kept leaving huge gaps in midfield with Ralls then isolated!

Zohore was an embarrassment. He has been dreadful since the end of the year.

I would have rather lost 5-0 today and really had a go, been in people's faces and caused problems. Instead, we have a lazy b*stard up front jogging around all game.

He made no effort, didn't close people down, wasn't in people's faces... It was shocking.

It says a lot when your colleague is shouting at you on numerous occasions to actually make an effort and close people down.

If somebody offered 2 million now I would accept it. Time to get rid. He obviously thinks he is too good for us.

Looked like a player expecting someone coming in to replace him. Threw his arms up in the air at one point almost saying what’s the point . :banghead:

Some people just don't understand football do they.

At least my sanity has been saved by a couple of sensible responses on here, Paterson stuck to Fernandinho and didn't help Zohore out, leaving him (and latterly Pilkington) to run around in circles between Bravo, Kompany and Otamendi.

I played Welsh league premier for 6 years and have my UEFA badges for coaching. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see somebody making an effort.

Chasing them down was pointless, they want you to press in numbers so they can cut through you and get behind you.

He was shocking and an embarrassment. No effort, no passion and no guts.

Zohore played the single lone front man, Patterson was pressing high, he tried to hand Fernandinho onto Zohore to press onto walker. He went to walker who passed inside to Fernandinho, this happened three times that I noticed. Zohore was not experienced enough to cope with the movement, but he wasn't alone in that. Cardiff lost two nil to a team that's 15 clear of a team that's spent 340 million to accept second place. It's not criticism that will be the reason that Zohore leaves it will be someone paying 12 million for the unfinished but massive potential he possesses.

Lazy or not is a matter of opinion Paterson seems to have the same opinion as me but either way it doesn't look like he is capable of getting the goals to keep us top 6.

I thought we did well. We were up against the top team in Europe right now. They were sublime on occasions and broke with breathtaking pace. They were simply a better side but despite that I thought our lads played very well and kept pushing. We conceded 2 soft goals but had some decent chances. Zohore tried hard. Nothing came off but he tried. I’m more disappointed by Grujic who I felt was a bit of a passenger. He has all the skills but needs to get on the ball to make use of them.

I was disappointed today. But Patterson really tried fair play I feel we played to lose by a little and not get thumped

Re: “ Kenneth Zohore “

Also just to add to my previous post, if anyone was lazy today it was NML. He was easily the worst player on the pitch today, he’s hugely out of form and apart from his burst down the wing in the opening minutes couldn’t do anything else. Zohore seems to be a lot of people’s scapegoat at the moment because he’s not scoring loads of goals.

Re: “ Kenneth Zohore “

I think it's harsh to judge any of our players based solely on this one game. They were outclassed in all areas, as have plenty of Premier League clubs been this season. Fortunately, we won't come across this sort of opposition to often.

I have been critical of Zohore all season, in fact I think I was the only one on here who did'nt rate him as highly as most of you appeared to. My view is nothing to do with effort, I just don't believe he will get us many goals in a season. He is not a bad player in my eyes, but he is not a natural goal scorer, particularly in and around the box.

I think he was way overvalued back in the Summer, and I never saw him as a player who would get us 20 goals in a season. Be interesting to see how he would play alongside a proven natural scorer. That may bring out the best in him.

Re: “ Kenneth Zohore “

I felt that his individual effort can not be overly criticised. As has been stated above, he was left to mark to many players.
This became clearly obvious at around the 60 minute mark where I think it was Kompany and Otamendi were just passing it to each other, each time Zohore would look laboured as he dropped his head and individually jogged between them. There was no point wasting energy sprinting.

Had a purple patch but true player is on display now, wholesome effort now and again but simply a very average player, even if we sign McGoldrick he is a massive step up.

This thread shows how much some of you know about football, brain dead. I honestly can't believe you made this thread Ned and made it a sticky, embarrassing.

Warnock clearly has give him specific instructions to not chase down 24/7 and keep his energy for when we have the ball to make runs down the channels.

Warnock mentioned in a press conference at the start of the year that Zohore runs himself into the ground too much sometimes which means towards the end of games he doesn't have the energy at the end to take chances.

Playing the best team in Britain and one of the best in the world and we are all criticising him.. it was a tough game today especially against a team like Man City playing as a lone striker, I thought when he did have the ball he was excellent and was very good in his decision making and passing.. I'm all for 110% effort but sometimes you have to take a step back and have a realistic view on it.

This having an opinion then there's talking absolute nonsense.

Gone backwards, alarmingly. Same can be said for NML. Next time someone offers 15m :laughing5: bite their hands off Mr Warnock.

You are an absolute clown. What standard of football did you play to? What coaching badges do you have? Do you actually understand the concept of football and how you win games, especially against higher opposition?

Mansfield would have done better than us today. Poor tactics. You defend from the front. You put people under pressure and cause problems from the front. He couldn't be arsed, he hasn't been bothered since the end of the year. I never agree with Annis, but he has widely published that Zohore has an attitude problem and it is becoming plain to see.

He’s scored in three games all season, I bow to your great knowledge but he simply is not good enough for a team trying to get out of the Championship at the top end. Disregard the Man City game as you make valid points, he’s been crap for weeks against very ordinary teams in our league.
