MY VIEW:THIS WAS BY FAR CARDIFF CITY'S WORST HOME PERFORMANC

Tue Dec 26, 2017 4:57 pm

My View/ Opinion

THIS WAS BY FAR CARDIFF CITY'S WORST HOME PERFORMANCE OF THE SEASON & CARDIFF DESERVEDLY LOST.

First home defeat of the season for Cardiff.

City's second defeat on the bounce and have looked bad in their last two games.

This really was a worrying, poor performance by Cardiff and it could of been a lot more

Second-Half: Fulham started well again, but thanks to a wonder goal by Kenneth Zohore, City remained in the game for short time.

First-Half: For me the worst home display of the season and Warnock did not look happy with his Bluebirds, City desevedly were losing 0-1.

It was all midfield and Fulham were bossing it without looking particularly dangerous!

The score-line flattered Cardiff.

Away Support Approx 700 Fulham fans

Neil Etheridge, Lee Peltier , Sol Bamba ,Bruno Manga,Joe Bennett,Craig Bryson ,Loic Damour ,Joe Ralls ,
Nathaniel Mendez-Laing ,Junior Hoilett Kenneth Zohore .

Subs:Brian Murphy, Callum Paterson ,Greg Halford ,Liam Feeney, Anthony Pilkington ,Lee Tomlin Rhys Healey

Fulham dominated the first 10mins and looked like scoring.

Then in the 13th min Fulham got to the byline again behind the City players, exposing Joe Bennett again, and Kevin McDonald’s flick-on was turned in by Tim Ream 0-1

It took 27 minutes and Cardiff got their first shot on target. Joe Ralls cut inside from the left and forced Bettinelli into a routine save, there was nothing to write home about really.

Neil Warnock did not look a happy man with his team and can not blame the officials today.

H/T CARDIFF CITY 0 FULHAM 1

Fulham continued as they finished the first-half in total control and went 0-2

But with in in minutes Zohore struck a beautiful goal 1-2 :thumbright: :bluebird:

Cardiff now pushed forward and looked finally like they had in previous games, a team wanting it :thumbright:

City did a Double Substitution Callum Paterson replaced Junior Hoilett while Rhys Healey came on for Loic Damour.

78th min and Fulham tore Cardiff's defence open to make it 1-3

Fulham even looked like scoring more goals.

City got a consolation goal in the 92nd min by Joe Ralls.

But Fulham hit back again 2-4 in the 96th min

Fulham for me looked by far the better team today and deservedly won.

F/T CARDIFF CITY 2 FULHAM 4

My man of the match: personally No one, but Zohore just for his great goal :thumbright:

I fear we have been found out and teams now know how to beat us up, outplay us and beat us. Preston a must win game

Well I was hoping to believe after this Christmas period that we were serious contenders. Now I believe we can forget auto and hope we hang on for a play off spot.

We were totally outplayed and should have been 4 or 5 down before we got the 2nd. No idea what's gone wrong but we cannot point to our injuries. That was a strong team we put out there today.

To me it seems our good start is all for nothing.

Transfer window cannot open quick enough Annis. Injuries have caught up with us and we can see now how critical Morrison is to us. Fulham are a bit of a bogey side for us these days and Boxing Day is a football day to be forgotten over the years. Must win on Friday now. This is our blip with an escapologist draw against reading, lucky win vs Hull papering over cracks that were forming. Sheffield United and Leeds back on form and Derby and the wurzels now flying. We won promotion over Christmas in 2012 but we may be in danger of saying goodbye to it if we don’t win our two games over the new year. Come on City!!!! Happy new year and hope you had a great Christmas.

Ps I hope we send Bryson pack to Derby, we need someone stronger in the midfield, he isn’t the answer, has added nothing in most games.

Lots of players didn’t turn up today. I can’t wait to have Mozza back in defence instead of Bruno. After the last two games I haven’t got any confidence in him. Bennett was poor as well today. NML looks to have lost his confidence too. Bryson didn’t offer anything other than lots of running about. Not any positives to take away from that game. But they were the stand out poor performers for me.

It was a shambolic performance.

It has been the case for a couple of months now, but our ability to find a team mate with a pass is non existent - constantly giving the ball away gives us no chance to build momentum.

Today was long ball route one stuff (and not even done well) - Warnock has to find a way to get Tomlin into this side. The trio of Bryson, Ralls and Damour are great at pressing and winning the ball, but they create nothing going forward and are often the ones to give the ball away again. Bringing Healy on today instead of Tomlin (who turned the game around again Reading) was a really odd choice - Tomlin must have done something to fall so far out of favour given the glowing tributes paid to him by Warnock when he arrived here.

Finally, I think we are now seeing the Morrison's true worth - we have looked very very shaky at the back since he's been out. Hopefully back soon.

Meanwhile Joe Ledley continues to offer Derby a strong, solid midfield presence.

Listening to Tan aswell, it doesnt sound as though he isnt backing this, maybe me I just dont think he seems interested.

We played shockingly poor against a Fulham side who we should have beat the diffrence being they have goalscorers everywhere and their counter attack was fast.

Bryson...now I know why Derby loaned him to a rival Championship club, he poses no threat at all.

Nice to see Zahore and Healey fit again.

I think although we have been unlucky with a few decisions this season, there have also been results which have slightly flattered us. I think only the eternal optimists would really think we would go up automatically. Most people I know, including myself, have only ever thought that a play off place was a realistic prospect. We are still up there, and being top 3 at this stage is a good effort. We were always going to have some tricky times with a few poor results, but I still think we can be fighting for a play off place right up until the end. I have faith in Warnock being able to get us back up and running.

Some good responses here. Fully agree Sean Morrison is a key leader in our defence, as much as Sol Bamba do be.

Our 3 midfielders were all to similar. We need 2 pressers and a 3rd more creative, so why no tomlin again? He cant get fit without a run of games. Warnock takes blame again, as do be too late with subs.

At the end of the day we do be beaten by a better team who play good football to watch too...

I thinks Fulham will make play offs

And De Brunye continues to be one of the best midfielders in the pl. We dont have Ledley so how can we complain about one player we dont have, when there are so many who can do the same if not better job.

The big issue is communication and individual errors. 3 mistakes, 3 goals, as simple as that and they were very lucky not to be given a penalty in the first 10.

After jinxing us to a loss today I might.

I was referring to the poster who said we need strength in midfield.

Completely over run in midfield and everyone seemed to have a terrible touch. What was Ralls thinking of for their 3rd goal?
Sorry I shouldn’t have singled out one player, very poor team performance.

Negativity was bound to come form 'the usual suspects' after two poor performances in a row! ;)

Lots missing today but from my perspective we're missing Sean Morrison more than we might have realised! :ayatollah:

Headless Turkeys 2, Fulham 4. Fulham played the way we should be playing, controlled football. We played like an unfit pub team,,, what exactly has our team been doing since last Saturday night?
Today reminded me of that stuffing we had by Middlesborough a few years back when we were 0-3 down after 20 minutes, you know, remember???

Happy Christmas All,,,, this is one result & performance Im never going to forget! :angryfire: :angry4: :angry4: :angry4:

Annis, I’ve been saying for a while that we’re not good enough or have enough depth to sustain a top two challenge over the season. The last few games have proven me right.

We weren’t great at Reading but got a draw, lost to one of the worst teams in the league on Saturday and now today we’ve put in what is being reported as a terrible performance.

Our target pre-season was top six and that’s still acheiveable, but people got too carried away with our early season form.

A lot of people said that people like me were too negative and fans like me didn’t deserve to have Warnock as our manager - but I’ve been proven right recently.
