We have had three promotions, Four Wembley appearances, Championship Winners,League Cup Finalists, A year in the Premier League, For years and years Never in the bottom-half of the Championship.

Just one relegation in 17 years and now we are once again Top of the Championship.

Lets be fair, with the 17 years on the pitch we have just had, No one can say the New/Old Cardiff City fans have not had good times :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Chris, We have never had it so great, in my 44 years of following City, the last 17 years on the pitch are the most successful a fact.

So when fans say we have had years of heartache/bad times on the pitch, Without a doubt we have Not :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Rick, Yes the ticket office put that out to the press.

We Def have 260,000 registered fans and for me, we should be getting 25,000 home crowds and sell out every away game with our fan base :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Agree with you to some extent the club has been alive since the year 2000 .after the dross of the 80/90s what we have achieved seems like success.the problem is during this period we still haven't lifted a trophy.the bluebirds were shut down for2and a half years and the city of Cardiff was represented in the premier league by some team in red.in the meantime since 2000 clubs like Wigan Fulham Swansea stoke etc have enjoyed many years in the premier league.

The Championship was a Major Trophy :thumbright:

Look at the League tables, not even a relegation battle :thumbright:

On the pitch for me its quality compared to the late 70's/80s and 90's, where we had 9 years in the Dungeon League(Div 4) and being near the bottom of it as well.

Football Fans in South Wales for the last 17 years have never had it so good on the pitch, the facts are there :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Agree but they haven't hadit as good as a lot of who I perceive to be smaller clubs who have given their supporters years in the premier league and a trophy.Swansea Fulham Wigan Burnley and now Bournemouth surely that should be a minimum standard for Cardiff?

What have they won?

I agree Jacks have now had years of top flight football, but a Real Cardiff fan is a Cardiff Fan for life :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

But as you say these are small clubs and really it should not matter how they have done on the pitch, We support Cardiff City and the facts are there, 17 years on off NO real bad times on the pitch a fact and compared to the previous 30 years, times have been amazing for City fans, just look at what we have achieved and had no years of relegations :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

No years of playing Darlington,Hartlepool,Halifax,Rochdale,Lincoln,Torquay,Tranmere etc etc those are hard times :thumbright: :thumbright:

I've been over to watch Real Madrid at the Bernabeu and Barcelona at the Nou Camp recently.
Both fantastic days out, great atmosphere with 90 odd thousand fans and brilliant football but there's just not the passion there as when I'm down the City!!

I would say from the moment MM signed Andreas Cornelius (although some might argue since the rebrand) up to when Neil Warnock was appointed, although strictly speaking the turnaround started properly this season.

In that time we had relegation, OGS, Slade and Paul Trollope along with some awful brands of football. I don't know about you but since 2014 it has been an endurance watching City at times and even before that the football under MM was mind numbing but at least we were winning.

The clubs at the bottom Bolton, Blackpool,Rotherham etc etc thats what you call bad years.

im not really sure what your getting at..yes we have had a better 17 years than Rotherham and Blackpool. but so have our crowds been considerably bigger than them home and away .
as for Bolton they have had 2 promotions. 11 years in prem {finishing as high as 6th..been to a lge cup final..and twice been in Europe.over the 17 year period you point to.
id accept what you call Boltons bad years over our good ones all day long.

I was not really on about Blackpool Rotherham we were on about those couple of seasons as u can see by the table I put out etc in the over all picture. I am on about We have had for 17years, which is a long time, virtually good times on the pitch and the facts don't lie, so our fan base should be big now. 260,000 are registered, but they need to turn up, not just when we are back in the Premier League.

well the last 17 years have been much better than the 17 before that..
but so have the crowds up 350% over the 2 periods.
honestly ,i think thats pretty good as we lost thousands and thousands of potential fans during those 18 years in the lower divisions...those kids { who are now in their 40s and 50s } that chose liverpool or man utd when we were bottom 4 of the bottom tier are not likely to switch..

The mistake your making here Annis is believing football is an exact science. 260,000 on the database should mean big crowds. It doesn't work like that and never will. I can remember back in the Sam Hammam days you claimed we had 250,000 on the database. I don't know when these things are updated but going by that in 10 years the database has only expanded by 10,000 with the possibility the other 250,000 is out of date and a good number of them not even alive anymore.

Also not being in a relegation battle again does-not equal a large crowd, although again using the Sam Hammam days in the Championship we would average around 11-12,000 as a mid-table team, now it's 16-18,000 so crowds have improved by some 30%. There is a counter argument we averaged 21,000 pre-promotion but that was 4 years ago and we were winning at the top end but since relegation we have had a succession of drudgery which nearly everyone agrees was not entertaining to the hard core fan never mind the floating fans.

The crowds will turn if we keep winning that is the only FACT that really counts.
