A forum for all things Cardiff City

If anyone on here is living abroad the football league are allowing people like ourselves to watch every game of their supported club
Costs 110 quid ($190 CAD for me) but it will show every game through the Cardiff City website then I believe, works out at less that 2.50 a game. Only works for people abroad though, in the UK only audio will be available
Up at 7am Saturday for the start of the season!

Where do you live in Canada mate I'm thinking about moving out in a couple of years?
Wed Aug 02, 2017 11:24 pm
I'm not sure there will be links to the game as each individual game is streamed by the club so not actually sure everyone will get it but I may be wrong hence the reason I've paid for it. Most years you can only stream 6 or 7 Cardiff games if they are on sky or championship game of the day
I'm living in Vancouver, been here for 18 months now and I have no plans to move back for quite some time, it is some quality of life

I've got it, and I've purchased av lightning adapter and decent hdmi cable so I can watch on my tv through my phone. Works well too so I'm all set for the new season.
My mate is all set to try it in Cardiff via VPN ( sent him a link about vpns getting banned last night to wind him up as Russia and China are looking to ban them )

I checked out the FPL iFollow FAQ's last night and to sign up and watch in the UK you wont just need a VPN, you will also need a forign bank account registered to a foreign address to sign up!
https://www.efl.com/iFollow/international-fans/Although, if anyone has any luck signing up without either of the above, do let us know...

Live content wasn't available on either an IOS or Android advice when I tried to watch the Livingstone game last week, coming soon apparently. Only works on windows apparently.

Ps when I followed through as if i was going to purchase, as far as i could go without purchasing there were no questions about bank details, if i went to the next page to purchase, maybe they would have asked!

Not sure... we need a willing volunteer to go through and test it

any one...?

As my username would suggest, I'm living in China. I signed up to iFollow about 3 weeks ago, using my Barclays debit card (110GBP). There was a drop-down list of countries from which I had to select my country of residence (China in my case, of course). When I entered my bank details it then asked for the billing address associated to the card - this is my mother's address in Cardiff. I thought that when I entered a UK billing address it would get red flagged, but it didn't. I did enter my Chinese telephone number but I don't think that was a required field to be honest.
If push came to a shove I could have provided a Chinese bank card, however, the details linked to that are in Chinese characters and not pinyin (Roman numerals), so I'm not sure if their online form processing could handle that or not?
So far, I've watched the full 90 minutes of all our pre-season games (including Taffs Well!) but the Burton game will be the first chance to watch a live game.
My internet speed here is ridiculously slow, so I'm not sure how the stream will be affected by buffering. If buffering turns out to be an issue whereby it spoils the enjoyment I will just settle for watching the full 90 minutes the day after.
The quality of the videos I have seen so far has been quite good in all fairness, and with commentary too.

I haven't come across any block yet but am still to click the final button.
I registered a payment card with ifollow when taking up the basic package.
If I go for the audio package it literally takes my account details automatically and then asks me to confirm. So one more click and paid.
IF I power up a VPN I then get the option for HD live games. If I choose the option I get the same process. All confirmed with my card details completed. Just one more click to confirm.

It's about £110 if I get 10 volunteers to chuck me a tenner if it doesn't work I'll give it a go.
If it works I pay. If it doesn't we all pay a lot less.
Anyone trust me?

I'm guessing there's no 'pay monthly' option so we can cancel if it doesn't work?
Although there must be some kind of 14 day cancellation period if customer isn't happy surely?

Yea you can download software where you can put your laptop to the country you want it to think you are in
For example I can only watch BBC Sport when I put my laptop in UK mode, so if you put your laptop in Canada mode or any other country that does it then it should work, but you'd obviously still have to pay the fee as I don't think there'll be any external streams

I eventually gave in & signed up 5 minutes ago, still no app available but I'll see how it goes as it is.
Worth a try at $140, off to Vegas next week so hoping it works on the ipad as well as the laptop.

Just out of curiosity, did you use a bank card affiliated to a UK bank, with a UK billing address?
Oh, and where in the Philippines are you exactly? - I stayed in Luzon back in 2005, nice place and friendly people but I found that you really have to keep your wits about you, especially at night.

Can you share your today's live experience with me? because I'm still hesitating to purchase a season pass, as Internet service in China is weird, visiting overseas websites is always slow to tears. very concerned about the fluency of ifollow service in China.

For those looking for the android app it is now available. It seems It is just an update to the CCFC official app.
It is by a company called InCrowd and there is a live games tab in the iFollow section.
Oddly a few club's use InCrowd but most use EFL Digital.

There is now a match by match pay option if people are curious but not wanting to cough up their local currency equivalent of £110.
You can try it today or for any other single game for about £6 ($7).
A no brainer now for those unsure of the video quality or their broadband speed capability in certain countries.

For those asking, I was able to use a UK bank account debit card in order to purchase today's game.
I even registered with iFollow at my address in the UK. Still allowed the live game option and took the money.
Great to know for when I finally need the app abroad and commit to the season pass.
I wonder if the price will reduce as and when games are played.

Please nobody report me lol. But yeah I just paid yesterday using a VPN to make out I was using my PC from United States. I also looked on the internet for a random address. It worked, I paid and it said I have subscribed to the HD live streams and everything etc. Can't see any reason why it wouldn't work at this point

The individual game purchase option is linked to the actual page for the match.
Go to "Match Centre" and when you click the Burton game you get the match pass option right there.

So basically. The entire rest of the world can legally watch cardiff play matches. The rest of us actually here can't?
I have an ST but would happily pay a subscription to be able to see our away games.
