Darren, I was told catching up to last seasons sales of about 11,500, which by Jan rose to 12,500, personally I thought we should if sold about 16,000 with all the positives that have been happening in the last 12 months and how cheap they are.

Got to agree Annis that's poor not sure what else the club could have done.

I suppose once people get out of the habit of buying a season ticket it's sometimes difficult to get them back.

Hopefully, the missing thousands will turn up fairly regularly to home games to boost the attendance

They are not cheap for everyone? 300 to 350 for adult unless you have kids, to the normal adult fan this is not a great deal! My circle of friends only a few have got one! Had we followed a Huddersfield model then most of them would have!

The deals we have are good for kids and students!

That is poor considering everything that's been going on in the club of late! No one can really blame the club anymore, not now...the only people to blame are the people not turning up! Fair enough it is an expense being a footy fan but even in the days of OGS, TROLLOPE and slade....I went to all the home games and some aways. But that's just me! I guess if ur want to watch ur club enough you'll go rain or shine, promoted or relegated but not much more the club can do. The only thing that will bring people in is success on the pitch and I mean a top 6 playoff place!

For some reason the city is not a priority amongst my friends like it used too. I keep nagging them but most will pick and choose games likely going to 3 or 4 all season.

I don't think they are cheap for the average guy, especially if you know you can't make a few games and then consider the offers they always have.

Does anyone know if there is an age limit on the student prices?

15000 season ticket holders would be decent

There is no age limit to student tickets (FYI that would be discrimination on the grounds of age) all you need is proof like a student card etc.

Just throwing this out there but does anyone believe that the previous free ticket offers have affected season ticket sales?

I haven't bought one in two years predicting I'd be able to get to the games I want for cheaper. Mixture of free tickets being offered from friends who can't make it and cheap tickets I've saved a fortune. I think I paid for 2 full price tickets each season and a few or the fiver and tenner ones.

I'm doing a course atm so could get a student card and do the £99 offer. That's a good price

Annis, very disappointing sale figures, I was expecting between 16,000 and 18,000 this season.

350 IS good for a season ticket. Some teams charge double that. Remember some were paying 600 when we were in premiership

I can back this sort of thing up as a few people I know have done the same.
ST holders for years, the whole situation and the Slade boring experience made them leave and not renew. I've told them things are much better now and the football is more exciting but it seems that if you leave and don't renew then it's difficult to get the motivation and love back!

A club just going through the motions on the in second division wont bring the support out in big numbers.Cardiff's an exciting expanding capital city.its geared up for the premier league constantly bumping around in the lower leagues has little appeal to the majority just a few thousand hardy supporters.

Sorry but this is wrong. The club have only recently allowed any student to have a student price. Up until recently you had to be a full time student below the age of 21!!

I was a mature student for 5 years through my company and all through those 5 years I was not allowed to purchase a student season ticket!! Then the year I finished they changed the format back to any student!! Pissed me right off at the time!!

350 is reasonable I would call it but not cheap! As I said had we gone to sell at Huddersfield or Bradford prices I think 20k would have been sold!

All I can say to that is in 2008/9 I was a attending a full-time collage course and I got a student priced season ticket and I was 48 at the time!

The equalities act which became law in 2010 made illegal to discriminate on the grounds of age when trying to accesses services. Therefore if the club makes a student rate offer then they must make the same offer to all students irrespective of age.

Your case maybe have been different because your course was through your employer and therefore not a full-time student. I haven't looked but at the time the Terms & Conditions might have stipulated that only 'full-time' students were entitled to the student rate and that now might have changed.

I disagree , we would not sell as many as them.
Fair play to City at £99 for Student tickets No age limit and £50 for Under 16's fantastic for Chamoionship Football.

I think £350 is reasonable but that's due to my income bracket. If someone is earning half of what I am (or is a student or on a state pension) then of course the price is not reasonable!

The perspective of what is reasonable depends on your own individual circumstances.

The club must have changed it in between 2013 and 2016 because I was a mature student over 28 years old between 2009-2013 and got a student season ticket every year with no age limits and it was dirt cheap! Perhaps it was changed for the premier league season and beyond? Anyway it seems to have changed back to that now which is great news! The person who was a student and missed out must have been a student between those years? Pretty unlucky to become a student for those few years where there was an age limit!
