Floating fans do.
I have 3 mates from Cardiff who are "Liverpool fans". They used to watch you here and there, they are now Swansea season ticket holders.
No doubt they will jump ship if we ever get relegated, but while we are in the PL, they will be here spending their money.

Well they are not cardiff fans are they. You just said their Liverpool fans.

The clubs are 45mins apart, your catchment area is also ours.

Hence the inverted commas. They have never been to Anfield, they are nit really Liverpool fans. Just claim they are when talking about football. The team they watch regularly is the local team, that has changed since we got to the Prem.

That is a very valid point to be fair and probably something we have been guilty of taking for granted over the years. As a City, Cardiff does not support its Football Club in huge numbers and relies on the numbers they pull from outside. We have dominated the catchment areas that are 'in the middle' over the years and have even dominated in areas which by right should be 100% Swansea but the longer your stay in the Premiership and we are out of it that tide is going to turn, it already has, and anyone who doesn't recognize that is in denial to be honest.

I guess it depends on what you class as a fan. These lads used to go to Ninian Park and the CCS regularly to watch the games. They were not commited fans clearly, but fans all the same in my eyes. Fans of Welsh football ready to jump on any welsh clubs bandwagon.
If you are asking will any of your 10,000-12,000 hardcore convert to us? Then the answer is no. But the longer we are the predominant team in Wales we will be getting generations of fans choosing us. That isnt me rubbing it in or winding you up, it genuinelly is what will happen and what is happening as we speak.
I remember I was banned many years ago for "trolling" - yet I was simply saying I think we will be above you for at least a decade. I was laughed at, people on here could not even fathom that this would be the case to the point I had to be trolling. To be honest I clearly understated it. Its been 8 years now hasnt it? And the gap between the PL and Championship ever widening.
For too long Cardiff fans have been hoodwinked by Sam Hammam, completely bought into what he used to feed you. For years it seemed impossible for a Cardiff fan to see what everyone else could. In fairness there is far more sense on here in 2017 than then was back in the day, it does seem like his spell his wearing off on many.

I was shocked last season the amount of teens on my coach going to away games. That coach goes from Rhondda Cynon taff.
If you want to build your support you need to improve then you need to start winning trophies. Glory hunters are interested in nothing else.

I think the amount of fans we have in the valleys is becoming incredible. Seeing swans shirts in places I never thought I would see them in.
We have won more major trophies in the last decade than the vast majority of the Premier League. We have an average finish of 11th I think. Staying the the Premier League is success enough to steer fans in our direction, cup success and european success is an added bonus when it comes.

Of course it is success. Wales had a successful European Championships too, they didnt win it though. Success it exceeding goals. We havent won the Premier league but we have been very successful in it. To finish in and around the top 10 is superb.
