Allan, Last season Bolton who were rock bottom beat us and this season little Rotherham who were rock bottom beat us, two years running we are the 3rd worst away supported club.
Away support is on the up with the majority of clubs and as I have said before when clubs like Carlisle,Grimsby,Bristol Rovers, Pompey,Bradford City, Plymouth,Doncaster etc etc all beat us and they are from the lowest divisions,we should be honest at ourselves and hold our hands up and say we have a problem.
Even in the Non League, clubs beat us.
Instead we make excuses.
Two years running,we are in the bottom three for away support.
Out of curiosity who are the six London local derbies in our division? ?

Bang on Annis, there's no excuse it's just poor. It's something that needs to be looked at for sure.

If you go for a like for like sat ko we will take more with the exception of Leeds Newcastle etc. Midweek matches bring our average right down, Blackburn, Barnsley etc on a Tuesday night whereas clubs based in the midlands or north only have small journies.
If you look at the teams within two hours we have travelled well, wolves brum Bristol reading, villa, Burton even qpr. But further afield we struggle.
This will increase next season and Sheffield Utd away and possibly the jacks will bring some much needed change.

Every clubs virtually increased, why not be honest and say we have a problem, 3rd worst away support in the Championship two years running and we are not even battling for relegation in either of those years.
The season was over for Wolves, but last Saturday Wolves took 2,500 away to Bristol City, nothing to play for and not a local derby, sadly it was more than we took to Bristol City 35 miles away.
Our away average will actually go lower than above,we are taking a few hundred to Sheff Wed away,Wigan and then Huddersfield away which is the last away game of the season which years ago,no matter how far away was fancy dress and well attended.
So its going to be less again than last season.

About time some of us got real about this.
We lost most of our away hard core support over the rebrand. Like it or not that is the real reason. I can understand them lot staying away and hopefully they will return when Tan buggers off. However I've noticed those that mock them for staying away don't even bother going away anymore. Hopefully that lot will continue to stay away.

We took large numbers away in our promotion season and up to 3,000 to most away games in the Premier League. That statistic to me suggests it has nothing to do with the rebrand.... If it does , can someone explain the above ?

Sorry annis forgot it's all tans fault we got crap away support and nothing else ! !![]()
Was counting reading and Brighton as london derbies ( making 5) as only short distance away ? Like said midland/Yorkshire clubs as well have such a huge advantage, but guess statistics tells it all.compare our fans going to individual clubs and their fans coming to ccs we take more than most clubs bring here! Personally comparing away support is totally flawed as it's only based on figures nothing else is taken into account like local derbies distorting figures.

Joff,
They were Mostly glory hunters, stopped the minute we went down, the Rebrand has hurt us more than the fans who were not bothered about us can realise, lost us many many diehards who have now got out of the routine of going to every away game
we only took 1,300 fans to our biggest away game in 50 years to get promotion to the Prem, 70% of the fans away at Man United etc I had never seen before and not seen since.

Those teams brought less numbers to us than their average, in the main because of the distance and their average is pumped by the amount of local games they play.

Great point, I also think the "away day experience" has been ruined by the outdated security measures in place for away games. Designated pubs, Rendezvous Points, the fact that you have to be in the travel club to take coaches away, and the risk of indiscriminate banning orders being handed out for minor offences has put the casual away fan off from travelling away with Cardiff City.
Ticket prices are also very expensive An away game will cost me and my family up to £150 per away game. Frankly, that's money I can spend elsewhere (it's also half the cost of a season ticket)
I really wanted to visit 92 League clubs but ha e been stuck on 75 for two years. I don't think I ever will visit them all unless things change.

Shelf Wed came here on a Tuesday night over 1,100, as we are going there on a Bank holiday 3pmwe should then take over a 1,000.
Preston came to us on a Tuesday night, then the following week all the way to Fulham took about 4,000 fans.
Barnsley brought 500 plus, good for them as yearsago they brought 50 to us, we took 154 to them this season.
As I said earlier, we use to take out times to these what they use to bring to us.
Why is there No honesty, its there in Black & White.
As i said earlier
