" CARDIFF CITY TODAY DESERVED TO WIN/BUT ONCE AGAIN '

For me we have thrown 2pts away today.

Lets remember Warnock has injuries beyond and not fielding the side he would like and they are mostly not his players.

Cardiff City had the better of the match and deserved to win today, but once again lost two points in the final minutes.

Not an exciting first half over all.
Brum were the better team for the first 25mins,but Cardiff finished the stronger in the first-half with a score-line of 0-0 at half-time.

Joe Ralls and Joe Bennett both stood out for me today, plus Jazz Richards and Sean Morrison.

There was a bigger than normal crowd today at Cardiff City's stadium today, with Cardiff charging Adults only £5,what a bargain. :bluebird:

For the first 25 minutes Birmingham had most of the play, but just after the 25th a Pilkington free kick was just over the bar and it nearly was one nil Cardiff.

Cardiff started to get in to the game more after about 28mins.

Ralls, Gunnarsson, Bamba, Hoilett and Bennett all had a good first half.

Cardiff finished the strongest in the first half.

H/T Cardiff City 0 Birmingham City 0

City had a corner and Sean Morrison was brought down in the penalty area, with Joe Ralls taking the penalty in the 53rd min making it 1-0 Cardiff City :bluebird: :bluebird:

Whittingham came on and replaced Halford in the 57th min.

Greg Halford went of injured.

Joe Ralls and Joe Bennett both stood out for me today, plus Jazz Richards and Sean Morrison.

The last 20 mins really opened up,with both teams going at each other.

78th min Zohore takes a brilliant shot,30 yards and saved by Brum keeper.

McGregor made a brilliant save near the end.

City defended well near the end.

In the 90th min City conceded once again.

We didn't deserve the win today because we continually invite teams to come at us in the last ten minutes.

You see games out by playing the match in your opponents half. Too much lately we are seeing these players holding back. Its called losing your bottle.

I disagree Ian, We made their goalie make 5 decent saves, but then as usual gave it away in the final minutes, but over all we were the better team against a very poor Brum side.

I agree, we messed up again.

2 points thrown away against a terrible team fitness levels looked poor. We started well which makes it even worse

Bennett is good on the ball but cannot defend to save his life! He also showed a total lack of intensity! I'm pretty sure he won't be a Warnock first choice next year. I've never seen a full back play with their hair so much!!!!

Now I can see why Warnock hasn't been playing him and it shows what a loss Peltier is.

I actually thought we Had a poor attitude in the second half. Brum were horrific but we showed a total lack of intensity and professionalism. We were only 1.0 up but so many players were swanning around, doing flicks and tricks, then not tracking runners. Nothing to play for now anyway but it was telling which players have that winning mentality and those who don't.

Jimbo, I still think we have not seen the best of Bennett yet and a run of games under Warnock,I hope that he does make it with us.

We looked like a team likely to finish mid table at the start of the season, and we play like a team who are good enough for this division, but nothing more. A massive improvement will be needed if we are to threaten the best teams next season, but without money this will not be an easy task for our manager.

I thought he wanted to do well today, you were closer than me as I only get commentary, twitter, and media reports :thumbright:

Some weeks I get the game on live on a screen in my local.

I will be watching Bennett even more now Jimbo  :thumbright:

He was at fault for the equaliser as he lost his man. I could see it coming all second half!!!! He was too busy doing flicks and tricks, playing with his hair, and letting people run off him. He looks great on the ball but is weak defensively right now.

Totally agree Steve and Warnock will have a massive job this summer to get rid and bring in quality, I would not trust many other managers with his job on a small budget :thumbright: :bluebird:

I don't want to hear excuses from our Manager, blaming the referee for instance,I just want him and his coaching staff to sort out this rabbit caught in the headlights disease that is causing us to drop so many vital points.....sort it out now!!!

Agree with this. Best 2 chances other than the goals fell to Birmingham (both mistakes by Bamba) which excellent defending from Morrison and Richards thwarted.

Didn't think I'd say this but Warnock cost us the win today.
Refused to make a sub at the end when it was clear to see we needed fresh legs and most importantly to break up the pressure.

I 100% agree. This is Warnocks. Halford as a DM at home, and Pilkington taking the electric pace away.

Lucky Ralls is starting to show that class we all thought he had a few seasons ago.

I'm a huge Warnock fan but thought he made some mistakes today. His team selection was strange. Why did we start with such a defensive team against a team who are struggling? The likes of Noone and Harris could have torn Paul Robinson apart!! I was very surprised he didn't bring them both on with 25 minutes to go, when Brum were on the ropes and pace and width would have opened them up. I can only think Harris and Noone need a good rest so that's why they didn't feature otherwise it is bizarre

When Brum has us penned in our own half in that spell after half time our defense just stood on the edge of our penalty area and let them run at us time after time, even when it was headed or booted clear they still just stood there. I glanced at Warnock and he was frantically waving at them to come out but they just ignored him. Could be a lack of fitness or desire or the lack of a front man to hold the ball or wingers to take it up field.

Overall I thought we just edged it

What was dissapointing was fact that there was 6 players around area where cross came from but only one marking player in middle when plenty of time to organise themselves ! Also thought mcgreggor should have came for cross as wasn't hard to deal with. But that's football easy from terraces? Other thing was players lack of thinking before goal ken should have gone for corner instead of hopeful ball in middle goal came from the resulting goal kick. Others just before that did same instead of running down clock. :old:
