We are not very good at selling players and that is not a list of 5 players I would necessarily want to sell but they are players who should have value and I think those figures are quite conservative.

Agree all have value. Gunnar has to be 2m captain of iceland. Noone. 250k due to high wages too. Pilks 1m at most. Connolly 300k...morrison 500k....harris 150k

I disagree mate, its up to the Club to sell the players and push out for maximum value, we seem to have accepted that our players are not worth a lot, I don't believe that's the case.

You have a look at the figures players from other Clubs are moving around for, Aston Villa just paid £2.75 million for Henri Lansbury as an example, if he is worth that then we should be able to nick a £1,000,000 out of someone for Pilkington.

Sheffield Wednesday wanted to sign Joe Bennett at the same time as us, what makes you think it so unbelievable that they would be willing to pay I don't know, say £700,000 for him in the summer if he has a good end to the season for us?

Connolly we should be able to nick £500,000 out of someone for him, he's a first team regular with bags of experience and only 29, not unbelievable to think we could move him on to one of the better League 1 sides or another Championship Club for a decent fee.

As for Noone, I honestly believe we could command a decent fee for him, if the Club put it out there that he was available at say £750,000 I reckon there would be plenty of Clubs who would be interested in taking a chance on him at that price.

We need to stop devaluing our players and start getting some value back, the problem is we have got a name for ourselves now as a Club that doesn't ask for much.

the on going problem here is not we have to sell, but clubs dont want to pay the inflated wages for players that are not playing well or in some cases just not playing at all

No chance we will get Noone for a £1m. I mean he is used as an impact player here now and he is losing that criteria as well.

I read the OP and then gave it some consideration and I have to say I pretty much agree with Bakedalasker's valuations on all of them except Manga (for the reasons stated by Annis, i.e. he is injured and out of contract come the end of May)

On reflection of the original question, I am flabbergasted that we currently have a highly paid squad who have an effective 'value' of little more than £1m between them and have to say Noone is nowhere near that valuation on current form and would be difficult to shift anyway with the money he is on (c.£20k pw if figures are to be believed)

It is really is incredible when you consider that even the much-maligned Sam left the club with a few (mainly homegrown) players of high value, including Ramsey, Ledley, Matthews, etc. and the fact that we didn't get true value (or at least a sell on fee) for any of them once Sam had gone is a separate debate in itself!

Chris, Your virtually spot on, For me its hard to believe if City tried to sell what is left of ur squad it would hardly bring anything in, yet the wages we are still paying out, do not warrant what they are worth.

I think Gunnarson is prob worth the most out of the whole of our squad,just my opinion

For me for the squad is worth the lowest I have seen in the last 15 years and we still need to get rid of dead wood.

If Warnock can sign up Sol Bamba and Junior Hoilett on fair wages for them and our club I believe they would have the highest value.

TBH I think only Gunner as any real value at the moment £1m.
Maybe Pilks,Morrison,Noone and Connoly £1m in total for the four of them, mainly because their wages are so high,nobody would pay more.
The players out on loan. Would probably fetch £1.5m in total and there's about 10 of them again because of their wages.
Not a very good position to be in,they are like new cars losing their value by the day

We have to remember the transfer committee or te three wise men!!! have no football experience whatsoever and paid out high wages and long contracts to average to good players.

That would leave 20 plus 1-3 not sold of the above.

I think at least the 3 -4 quality players would be centre midfield/striker/winger/goalkeeper

Agree with both of you on this. Not much would be raised if we sold all our players, they are all fairly low value, and a quick glance at the league table should back up your valuations.

i think if Warnock can get a £5-7m transfer fund he'll have to wheel and deal but should just get who he needs in.

I think we still need to be careful who we get rid of on top of them as we will then need to replace eg if we sell 1 x of 3 CB then we still need 2 CB.

For me I'd bring in a gk, Cb, Fb, cam, w, 2 x cf

I think you also have to look at football at the moment - the inflation is crazy so although people may scoff it could happen.

If anything football needs a spend cap it's getting ridiculous.

Noone we can easily get a million because we have had higher up clubs sniff around for him and hes got a big reputation in this division.. players get signed more on reputation on previous spells or games rather than form.

If we were to sell Gunnarsson then we'd sell him for £1,500,000 at an estimate - due to the Euros, don't forget Medel went for a hefty price after the World Cup.
