Two back to back defeats in a week.

Brave performance by Cardiff City at Reading today, but without a proven striker they are virtually always come of second best against the teams near the top of the Championship.

Warnock made a number of substituions when City were losing 2-1,but this time they were unable to get City anything.

City came to Reading with an attacking team, but were forced defend for long periods.

Reading had most of the first-half with City attacking on the break, Gunnarson,Morrison and Rhys Healey stood out for me and City were able to go in at half-time drawing thanks to Warnocks type of play, battle for everything and call for everything :bluebird:

READING 2 CARDIFF CITY 1

Cardiff: McGregor, Peltier, Richards, Morrison, Bamba, Halford, Ralls, Gunnarsson, Hoilett, Healey, Zohore.

Subs: Murphy, Connolly, John, Whittingham, Noone, Kennedy, K Harris.

Young striker Rhys Healey made his first start for Cardiff City as striker Rickie Lambert was left out of the whole match day squad.

Reading did most of the attacking, but to be fair to City they had ago and attacked on the break,as the game went on reading attacked more and in the 43rd minute, McGregor palmed away a shot, the ball fell to McCleary who produced a stunning back heel for Smith to lash home from six yards out. 1-0 Reading.

In the 45th min Sean Morrison was brought down by Moore and Cardiff had a penalty, which Ralls smashed it to the right, bang in the net 1-1 :bluebird: :bluebird:

H/T Reading 1 Cardiff City 1

City started the second-half attacking Reading from the first second and looked good, but Johore battles everywhere, but nothing infant of goal.

60th min then Readings Yann Kermorgant smashed in from a free-kick and the Royals retook the lead 2-1

65th min Kadeem Harris replaced Kenneth Zohore.

Reading continued attacking looking for a 3rd goal, but to be fair to City, they attacked on the break and on a number of times could have equalised.

City brought on Greg Halford for Matthew Kennedy.

City brought on Whittingham in place of Ralls.

But this time the substitutions by Warnock never worked.

Had enough possession and attack to come away with something.

Most of us have been saying it all season but we just don't have a goal scorer and it looks like we will not be getting one for a while. We need to offload Lambert to stand a chance of attracting a decent scorer. The wages saved from Lambert we just might start attracting one.

Not good but we are to good to go down.

Let's hope NW gets someone in before Tuesday and then 5-6 in the summer to give us a proper start to a season for a few years.

We need a good attacking midfielder I don't think strikers is really the problem.

Yes we did Ian, but without a striker we will never achieve anything.

Agreed, good pacy, creative midfielder but boy do we need a striker too!

Warnock got the shape and tactics right. We dominated for large spells but we simply don't have enough quality in the final 3rd! Pace from midfield is a must as is a natural goalscorer. Warnock must be backed in the summer!

The root of the problems is the midfield always has been.

when are people finally going to say something about Warnock.
i blame him for today for not even putting a striker on the bench.
even if its fred wherever rickie is

Don't know why people are blaming a lack of a goal scorer because we create f**k all.

Hoofball that makes the eyes water. I dont think we strung 3 passes together. Strikers feeding on scraps.

Warnock is Slade in disguise. Thank him for keeping us up then f**k him off in the summer.

Spot on Karl.

How anyone can blame Warnock? zero money,95% not his squad and we were on our way down.

So I am a troll because I don't think the sun shines out of Warnocks arse?

The irony is you let the biggest troll on the internet infest this forum for cheap hits so don't come the troll police with me Annis.

I'm glad you said that - I was beginning to think I was the only person who thought that the main problem was a lack of creation from midfield.

Just funny that the bloke makes a mistake and people are out for him? He will make good and bad decisions but until he gets his squad it's cheap to have a go.

This club has deserved to be crap for a few years as who in their right mind would or should put any money into it?? Hmmm

Besides the top 2 not much between everyone else. Just be nice to have a settled club/manager/backroom staff and players for once.
