It's often said the valleys are the heart and soul of Cardiff city and without them the fan base would be nothing, not from the valleys myself but totally agree with this.
I couldn't but notice again at villa, buses from llantrisant, Barry, Bridgend, abercynon, Rhondda valleys.
You know the score, the usual surrounding villages, I know east Cardiff had a bus and am sure other areas of Cardiff had some buses but with the population of Cardiff as a city the diffians are small in numbers, this is not a dig at those who come more an observation.
I know from season tickets at the club that the stronghold areas llantrisant, Rhondda and the surrounding areas make up a huge amount. So why is this the case? And has it always been like this?

Gareth, there is population of about 400,000 people in Cardiff and one million with in 30 miles.
You've just partly stated what Ive always said, with the size of our City and surrounding areas we should be getting minimum 20,000 home gates and taking away 2,000 fans.
We have no competition from other football clubs or rugby nowadays, so why why is our support so poor?
But your also right, just from Cardiff its self we should be getting bigger support.

Simple, generations brought up on Liverpool Utd etc while we were garbage, that's handed down and so it continues. I was one of two in my form in school with a city scarf. It's obviously improved tenfold so heading in right direction. That's the hard truth, need years of being at the top.

If someone pays money to go to watch City, whether it's £5 a ticket or £30 a ticket, they deserve to be treated as a fan who goes every week. "Glory hunter" term will be thrown about if we climb the league and attendances grow. Why? They have every right to be able to watch City.

You don't make much f*cking sense mate, you say fans don't go because they are called glory hunters?![]()
I've stopped going to a lot of home games, stewards, hitlers,no atmosphere, feels pathetic down there, got my season ticket though, been going away more, but your right mate if a fan pays a £5 he is fan,but if he only turns up when prem clubs come, then he is a f*cking glory hunter, but he don't care that we call him that as he don't read these forums,he follows prem clubs

You started a thread the other day stating that Fulham home will be a test for our fans turning up for the cup game. You've slated fans for not turning up for home games in the past, Now you admit you don't bother going to most home games yourself!![]()

That's not to forget our friends from north wales that travel all the way down to Cardiff to see the game. There's also small towns that don't get mentioned like Cwmbran where I'm from im a season ticket holder and I have been to every home game this season that's loyalty it's not all about the valleys

Annis like yourself, school days were full of the Leeds I think they were the Manure/Pool of today back then so this 'Glory-Hunter' tag has been around a while.
Really don't understand Dave's post though ? "every home game this season that's loyalty" Want you want mate a f*cking medal?

Agree with him about not turning it into an us and them thing but Im not sure what this work the Club has done to liase with the Valleys is?
The Club has been almost non existent in Schools and social events where I live for years which is a Cardiff City stronghold.

Surely these huge villages within the capital, Ely, canton and grange town, st mellons, llanrhymney, llanedyrn, radyr, I can go on and on.
