Eggchassing ....
Wales v Argentina
half empty stadium .......whats the point when the number one sport is playing later at the CCFC stadium
Com on Wales lets beat the Serbs and march on to Russia ..

Re: Eggchassing ....

Is it really too much to support both WELSH teams no matter the sport?
They're our national side. If we miss out on Russia we'll be back down to half empty stadiums and it won't be the 75,000 Millstad.
There's gonna be more at the rugby tonight than the Georgia and Moldova games which didn't sell out. And I doubt we'd get an extra 10/15,000 tonight if this sells out (I'm assuming the Rugby will get 45,000ish tonight)

It's too expensive for both tickets and up here in Abercwmpissiog we can't afford Sky!

The rugby got 50,000 for their friendly with the Argies. Cheapest ticket was £40 up to £100 :bluebird:

The egg is a glorified pissup, the men are fat Neanderthal mongs who are thicker than horse shit, and don't get me started on the over 40s fat club womens society who dressed like tarts parade around in silly daffodil hats. They're an absolute embarrassment to the world and are partly why most people outside of Wales think we as a nation are woolly back cretins.

Egg the shittest sport in the world !!!

Why are so many of the morons on this forum so jealous that our International rugby team get 50k for a friendly whereas our Internatinal Football team struggle to sell out 33k for an important World Cup qualifier? All the rugby supporters and players I know want Wales to win at both codes and Cardiff City to gain promotion so why have do many Club football supporters have such a chip on there shoulders? Perhaps it's lack of real success over many years?

If nearly every country on the globe took rugby seriously I doubt very much Wales would be much of a success at it. Come to think? You've never won the World Cup anyway

I agree it's fantastic support, we can only dream of getting regular crowds as big as the Rugby do. Still by far the National sport of Wales at International level, Club level is completely different obviously.

Mr Murphy, there are over200 International Teams playing Rugby and little old Wales are usually in Top 8,be proud, even if you are Irish? No we had never won World Cup but we have come 3rd and 4th not bad for a country of only 3million?

I bet about 180 of them teams are amateur. I'm Welsh by the way :thumbright:

So why was there a semi-professional side at the World Cup? It's a minority sport, only about 10-15 countries take it seriously.

They only get more than the football because it's more of a social event than the football. People go to the rugby because it's fashionable and a chance for a piss-up.

I know that, it's not the point though is it. International Rugby in Wales is far more popular than International Football is, the attendances prove that, their reason for going has nothing to do with it. The Egg rules, full stop.

Yet hardly comparable to the achievements of New Zealand. Not bad for a country of only 4.5 million

Re: Eggchassing ....

The cheapest seats for adults for this one were £20 not £40.
I had a cheap one as I couldn't stay to the end and have enough time to get down the City for the Wales v Serbia game.
The atmosphere in the 50,175 crowd was ok probably because the roof was closed... even if the most exciting thing on the pitch in the first half was the entrance flames.

Can't take a sport seriously that has a couple of Pacific Islands with a population of a couple of thousand in the top 10 in the world. It may be more popular in Media Wales but in the scheme of things the egg isn't very important and never will be until some proper countries decide to play it and have a chance to get into the major competitions. At the moment its a closed shop about who qualifies for the World Cup. Not that I actually care as I can't stand the game - kicking the ball into touch regularly as a tactic and fat blokes rolling around on top of each other is not my idea of entertainment.

There isn't one Pacific island team in the Top 10.

One of the main reasons that NZ are the best side in the world is that they poach more Pacific Islanders than other teams, although Austraila,France and England are also catching on? They are superb athletes, hard and hungry for success and hardly fatties? However if the World Powers of USA and China continue to put more money into soccer and rugby they will become the World Champions of both sports in the near future?

I don't know about other city fans reasons but I can't support Rugby cos I just don't like the game, simply as that. Nothing to do with me supporting city.

Likewise, I'm not jealous at all about the crowds they get. I really couldn't give a shit and never even look for the results as the game and its advocates bore me to tears. Nothing to do with being a city fan.

I'm not sure NZ poach as much from the other Pacific islands as is often made out. Remember they have a sizeable amount of Polynesians in their own country to choose from. In any case if you put the total population of Samoa, Tonga and French Polynesia together you barely get more than an extra 500k. Quite comparable to Scotland!
