" One game from the sack "

A poor result Saturday will no doubt see the axe wielded on Paul Trollope, do you believe this will be the case? Can't see anything other than a defeat Saturday, were low on confidence without Lambert and they will fancy it big time. :sad7:

Gareth I believe if we get beaten at Burton, Trollope will be sacked in the International break, but Lennie Lawrence will take his place, another cheap option as Lennie was semi-retired.

Annis, really (on Lennie)???? :o

That would be the biggest mistake to date (red apart, of course) as Lennie is supposed to be 'mentoring' Trollope! :(

Either I see that happening Annis or they may just go with James Rowberry.

But I do believe if we lose Saturday Trollope will be sacked.

I doubt Lennie could save us from relegation either

And James Rowberry manager? Surely not! Nothing against the guy but it was only few years ago he took me on a coaching course in the gwent area, while he was Newport youth coach. Certainly no credentials for this level yet. Trollope Rowberry or Lawrence? ?? :?

Got to agree, which in my opinion would change nothing. Yes he might go with James rowberry but this isn't the time for this. I would like to see Bellamy given a season deal with the target to keep us in this division while they bang their heads together and figure out what next. I believe Bellamy could do this but he's likely to go with man city. Anyhow tan doesn't like people with balls. Ogs slade Trollope all wet farts with no backbone.

Chris,This is only my opinion, otherwise I see an academy coach etc coming in or someone from one of Tans other clubs, it will def be the cheapest option and of course a Yes man.

Carl, I see very similar happening, which ever costs Tan in his world the cheapest, but in the long run, for me its damaging our club.

It would either be a shit cheap option, someone saying holloway he might actually take it if offered to him he's definitely mad enough to work under tan,and even if we went down we'd have a laugh with olly in charge

Annis, I would rather Rowberry (just) than Lennie, if they stick with the 'First Team Coach' route but I would hope and pray that the people at the top finally see the value in getting a 'manager' with a proven record at this level

I won't be holding my breath, though!

Re: " One game from the sack "

VT, Dalman and Choo have appointed the last 4 managers at our club and their record hardly inspires confidence. When you look at the win% of each of these managers or joint managers you will see what I mean:

OGS 30%
Young / Gabbidon 20%
Slade 39%
Trollope 18%

Currently PT has the lowest win % of any manager in our history and still the 3 Amigo's are sat on the fence playing their fiddles whilst Rome is burning. The appointment of PT is proving a disaster so why are we waiting.

Last weekend a match took place in the Championship between 2 clubs whose managers were Champions League winners. We need, at the very least, an experienced manager at this level. Dave Jones, Neil Warnock, Paul Lambert, Billy Davies, Ian Holloway, ,maybe even Nigel Pearson are available and this club is in desperate need of a manager with their type of record.

Given the quality of the "Executive" decisions taken over the last few years I'd put my money on Rowberry or Scott Young. God help us.

I don't think Lennie would take it anyway He's too old and finished I think I would think it will be a manager from within Tan's Belguim circuit or Rowberry.

It really can't be long until one of the stewards or a programme seller is given the manager's job.

The irony of Lennie taking us down from the championship having taken us up there.

Next manager has to be experienced at this level full stop.
Try and Nick the fella from Brum or Holloway, Warnock etc

If they go cheap again it means we are planning to go down.

Funny that those that didn't rate slade don't seem to realise that win % at this level of football is actually decent but then again they are the same people that won't Vincent tan out and were willing to be blue in league 2 then in next breathe are moaning we haven't spent anything in the transfer window

As always most on here have a brain the size of an atom

Give the guy a chance! We are 6 points from mid table, where most people thought we would be anyway. The last thing this club needs is another change of directions and another turmoil of players leaving and brought in. Championship is becoming a joke, where instant success i the demand. It dosent work that way, and you should know it.. He has not had a full squad of players yet with injuries, and I'm pretty sure he had no control over the players leaving. Just read an article on Solbakken from Copenhagen, it took him three years on their budget to get Copenhagen competitive. Solskjaer is doing the same thing to Molde, playing youngsters as low age as 16 to 18, talented as f**k though. Conte said the same thing. Chelsea need a complete overhaul. only difference, he will have the backing to do it in a few windows. I have not seen a single game so far, so I'm sure you guys know more than me. But a bit of patience is a good thing :ayatollah:

This is exactly what will happen, as it's a cheap option and the three man committee wouldn't have thought that far ahead. As much as want Trollope gone as he's not up to the job having Lennie as manager again is worrying, I will always appreciate him getting us to the championship, but he should be scouting, working with youth, or just generally retired.

He was my coach when I was in newports academy and while he was a good coach and is apparently as qualified as Pep Guardiola he didn't seem to have the authority to be the main man and manager

I had hopes at start of season for Trollope
But as it is if he stays regardless of result on Saturday I believe that we will be relegated under him so why wait the sooner somebody else comes in the better :old:
