Previous manager has wasted so much on players it will take a long time for the club to recover.

That's another £1.2m to pay up his contract coming on top of the disastrous Dikgacoi transfer resulting in a settlement of £0.72m if contracts were paid up in full. So you lose Fabio and Marshall to pay off Macheda and Dikgacoi. What wonderful business.

Umm! 50% of his contract is £650k 6 months before we break even so by Feb we would have paid him this amount, but if he was still here we would have had to pay him another £650k until the end of his contract, to me Steve that is good business

to be honest, i would have called macheda's bluff. i would have told him he will be stuck in the reserves for the rest of the season and told him to find a club. if he didnt find a club january is only 3 months off. he would have had a choice to take a pay cut or ruin his career stuck in our reserves. given that choice i think he would take the pay cut. however, he is gone and the club made a business decision to pay him off - how much we do not know.
it is now vital we get players in to replace them - we have no real options from the bench and that is hampering our progress.

Why do you think a contract has to be paid up in full ? most players will rip up there contracts and get a nice big signing on fee from there new club as they are free

Wez as reported we paid only 50% of his contract up so roughly £650k saving £650k consider he wasn't going to play that's good for city

Exactly this is a classic case of a glass half full or half emptyIf you are positive you see it as a £650k saving a chronic moaner would see it as a £650m hit.
We tried to get rid of him and were unable to do so. Therefore we did the next best thing and paid up some of the contract and we will make a medium term saving.
