' 4,000 MISSING CITY FANS '

As you all know the official attendance against Blackurn Rovers on Wednesday night was 14,041.

That is the official figure which counts actual ticket sales and not the number of people through the turnstiles.

The actual attendance of fans through the turnstiles was just 10,063 :o

Over 4,000 season ticket holders did not turn up for the second home league match of the season.

Annis, this is incredibly sad and something the club needs to sort out. Thousands are still boycotting and finding it hard to come back to support the boys due to what happened during the rebrand. I know people have a go at you for posting about attendances all the time but it needs to be discussed otherwise he wins.

what do you mean he wins? Surely if he doesn't care about the club and just money he would want more fans in?? You can't be that pissed with tan to be blinded by hate surely ?

That is shocking but those of us who actually did attend knew that the 14,041 announced crowd was way off the mark. Why buy a season ticket and not use it to support the team? The Club urgently need to investigate why so many fans have deserted. Teza

Missed my point. I want the stadium full, of course I do but if we don't discuss why the stadium is empty then he wins. The reason is that thousands of the hardcore BLUES just cannot forgive Tan for what he done and the damage he caused. I know hundreds who haven't set foot in the stadium because of the rebrand and only go to away games. This needs to be revealed and discussed openly.

I honestly believe many will return on two accounts, a winning team and Tan gone, he's hurt our club beyond belief.

Agree but each one will attract a different type of fan. Plastics and the reds if we start winning again and look like getting promoted (look at the end of last season). If Tan goes more of the hardcore will return and the place will be rocking again. I know hundreds of long term fans who now only go to away games as they cannot stand Tan and what he did.

Terry, I agree, but they were so cheap this season, they could afford to not attend even more this season.

Out of those 4000, some would have been on holidays, like me and my son.

Some would have been in work on afternoon/night shift.

A lot would have been children who would be in bed at that time on a Wednesday night. I know I won't be taking my son to midweek games.

You seem to want to make an issue out of the attendance every game annis

See my post today on 'Encouraging Season Ticket Sales' re missing fans at the Blackburn game. I think many fans renewed their season ticket in the hope of City investing in the squad which has not occurred. We continue to pick up freebies and ignore a striker.

Many fans do not want to see the boring football being dished up with the club willing to sell any of their players in order to get cash without reinvesting in the squad. The way things are going attendances will only drop further unfortunately. The club does not need to go mad but needs to show some ambition.

Student and kids tickets, I know of loads of season tickets bought by mates that will hardly get used but it is still value for money for them even if the kids only go to 7-8 games.

Spot on and yes I do good or bad attendances, Ive followed crowds from every club in England/Wales and Scotland since I was 7 years old and they interest me very very much.

For me without fans there is NO club.

But I Love reading the crowds of all clubs after every clubs matches :thumbright: :thumbright:

I've got a season ticket and wasn't there on Wednesday. I live in London so I can't get to all the games anyway.
Here's a crowd pic from Sunday vs QPR to give some comparison.

Your right, other than the Canton the place was empty.

The Ninian Stand and Family stand looked terrible.

We commented saying imagine runninh out to that.

I think its just back to our normal gates. We've had a decade of playoffs, finals and promotion which will obviously attract new fans.
Now we have zero ambition, zero excitement and zero customer satisfaction thousands cant be arsed.
Be fair, its hardly thrilling these days.
And before anyone lectures me, im an 80's veteran. Ive been through all the shit years.
Just my view.

Problem is annis the pictures you use are always of the grandstand. This is always the emptiest part of the stadium. The prawn sandwich brigade only want the big games and lower grandstand have worked out they can have equivalent ticket in ninian for half the price.

If you get pics of the Ninian and centre blocks of Canton it would look totally different

Christ, this is so boring and has been done to death many times previously.

Unless we are winning games and playing decent football plenty of fans/season ticket holders won't turn up, for all sorts of reasons. Accept it, crack on and support the team.
