Besides, Tan is more likely to sell if we go up.

Absolutely agree. Having watched City from 70s onwards we've had some real dodgy owners over the years but I could never "hope" my club would be relegated![]()
I've said it before, I just can't see how Tan can recoup his money unless we are either in, or challenging for, the Premiership. The problem last year was FFP and the fact that we sailed too close to the wind previously and last season those mistakes came back to haunt us with the embargo.
The only "asset" we have is the stadium and House of Sport. Player assets are minimal in value with only Marshall worth a few million. Manga's value will plummet at the end of this transfer window as he'll be in the last 10 months of his contract and the rest would be worth little on current form (Immers a possible exception).
The rest of this window will give us a much better idea as to the level of ambition at the club. I have no problem in selling players for decent fees if that money is re-invested in fees for new players or even wages. Let's see where we are once the window is shut, a couple of really good quality players would make a massive difference but if we don't get that then Trollope is going to have to prove that he is one hell of a coach to keep this lot out of the relegation battle.

I'm afraid we don't own any of the three "Houses of Sport", these are all owned by Steve Borleys company CBM, and not Cardiff City. Our training complex is owned by the "Vale Resort" and our ground, all be it owned by the club, have re sale restrictions on it, as the land it was built on is council owned land which was given to the club by the council and would not be for resale. So no real assets I'm afraid

Jason, I would be absolutely gobsmacked as I do not see Tan thinking about Cardiff City in his future plans.

Tan as a 4yr plan to leave club debt free! Not sure what resources you are referring to as any money coming into club is being used to clear debt and not going to tan, in fact tan hasn't taken a penny from club for himself since been here

That's why we have to accept that for the forseeable future this club will just be treading water. If Tan's plan is to succeed, there has to be plenty of further cutbacks, and any new signings are going to have to be bought on the cheap and not cost a fortune in wages. If the club is to be completely debt free, there is not going to be any money around for a while yet. That is why I have'nt set my sights too high this season, and know that whoever is the club manager is going to have to be clever in the transfer market, as well as bringing on our younger players. Could be tricky couple of years, but at least we will still have a club to follow.
