Tan will lose millions whether we go down or stay up - he's lost millions already!

Can't see the potential buyer's queueing up round the corner either I'm afraid.

Why would any fan want to see their club relegated?

Re: Hope we go down

Tue Aug 16, 2016 9:55 pm

can't be a fan if you want us to get relegated

Re: Hope we go down

Tue Aug 16, 2016 10:31 pm

Going down would wreck our club.
I'm sure fans would turn away in their droves if they are not doing so now.

Doesn't really matter which league we are in. If you support the club, then support them in the Championship against Villa, or League two against Leyton Orient, it's all the same, support the team no matter what :bluebird:

Re: Hope we go down

Can't understand why any "supporter" would want their club to get relegated. Ican only want us to win every match we play.

Besides, Tan is more likely to sell if we go up.

Has to be up there with one of the dullest statements I've ever seen on this Board and believe me there's been quite a few

Absolutely agree. Having watched City from 70s onwards we've had some real dodgy owners over the years but I could never "hope" my club would be relegated

I've said it before, I just can't see how Tan can recoup his money unless we are either in, or challenging for, the Premiership. The problem last year was FFP and the fact that we sailed too close to the wind previously and last season those mistakes came back to haunt us with the embargo.

The only "asset" we have is the stadium and House of Sport. Player assets are minimal in value with only Marshall worth a few million. Manga's value will plummet at the end of this transfer window as he'll be in the last 10 months of his contract and the rest would be worth little on current form (Immers a possible exception).

The rest of this window will give us a much better idea as to the level of ambition at the club. I have no problem in selling players for decent fees if that money is re-invested in fees for new players or even wages. Let's see where we are once the window is shut, a couple of really good quality players would make a massive difference but if we don't get that then Trollope is going to have to prove that he is one hell of a coach to keep this lot out of the relegation battle.

Put simply, I don't consider you a Cardiff City FC supporter and I refer to worcester_ccfc's comment above

I'm afraid we don't own any of the three "Houses of Sport", these are all owned by Steve Borleys company CBM, and not Cardiff City. Our training complex is owned by the "Vale Resort" and our ground, all be it owned by the club, have re sale restrictions on it, as the land it was built on is council owned land which was given to the club by the council and would not be for resale. So no real assets I'm afraid :bluebird:

Thanks for that info, it only serves to emphasise my point that unless Tan is willing to take a £150m+ loss then we need to be in, or around, the Prem for us to attract any investors.

I think some will have a suprise if they think Tan wants to sell now or will sell up if we get to the premiership. We are a part of his long term plans in building a football club portfolio..

Jason, I would be absolutely gobsmacked as I do not see Tan thinking about Cardiff City in his future plans.

you have been saying it for the last 4 years annis I don't think he needs to sell people like him will hold on to there assets until they can make a profit

Can't blame Tan for taking back all the PPs after clearing up the mess left by Ridders and Hammam. And then having to clear up the mess left behind by Milky and Solskjaer. Everyone giving him grief. Bet he has often wondered what the FCK he got himself into, buying into a moneypit, that is Cardiff City.

Obviously a troll looking to wind people up otherwise he would surely have come back and debated his point.
Pathetic statement otherwise.

What's he possibly draining from the club??

He has not taken a single penny out of this club since he arrived in fact quite the opposite having basically written off close to £50m of his own money that was owed to him by the club, granted some of that debt due to his own idiocy but he has not milked this club for a single penny as of yet!

Tan as a 4yr plan to leave club debt free! Not sure what resources you are referring to as any money coming into club is being used to clear debt and not going to tan, in fact tan hasn't taken a penny from club for himself since been here :old:

That's why we have to accept that for the forseeable future this club will just be treading water. If Tan's plan is to succeed, there has to be plenty of further cutbacks, and any new signings are going to have to be bought on the cheap and not cost a fortune in wages. If the club is to be completely debt free, there is not going to be any money around for a while yet. That is why I have'nt set my sights too high this season, and know that whoever is the club manager is going to have to be clever in the transfer market, as well as bringing on our younger players. Could be tricky couple of years, but at least we will still have a club to follow.

Agree with you but it's a fine balancing act if we are not to go so far backwards that we don't find ourselves in relegation zone in next couple of years,
