Is that Sammy at number 28?

No doubt if he plays against us he'll come on for the last 10 minutes and have a blinder!

Not hard to keep players happy when your 10-15 points clear at the top of the table.

Expectation is massive! Its not all about having a good squad they have to deliver the goods. This is football how often to things read like the script. :ayatollah:

Ameobi and Shelvey two of the most popular players to ever play at the CCS and sure to get a hearty warm Cardiff welcome :o :o :ayatollah:

I have it on excellent authority that Sammy is a genuinely nice lad. Granted he didn't make a decent impact with us but I for one will welcome him back and hope others do the same. As for that Jack b###### Shelvey/Voldemort he'll want to crawl back into his hovel.

Some of those will be gone before the window shuts but let's be frank, Newcastle must be the biggest ever favourites to win the league. Sure they will have their off days but can anyone not seeing them streaking this league?

Last home game of season is Newcastle. Ameobi last minute winner to hand them the title and keep us out of play offs. You heard it here first ;)

I'll be shocked if they don't win the league.

Consider their manager has managed Real Madrid, Liverpool and Chelsea as well.

Problem with Newcastle is they're buying anything that isn't nailed down and will all these players will they jell as a unit and have the togetherness to win promotion from this league. I'm predicting they won't win the league.

I personally hope they crash and burn. And I think they might. Not much championship experience in that and we all know that's how you get out of this league! Lots of teams have tried to buy their way our and failed.

Be interesting to see how they fair on a cold wet night vs a team that just going to kick the shit out of them. I think (hope) they'll struggle. I don't even think their manager will know how to deal with that.

Lots of 'names' on that list though. Good luck.

I hope you're right.

On paper they should walk this league - but they may just be spending their way into more trouble.

Last time they bounced straight back up they kept most of their squad together after relegation. This time they have torn it up and started again (without being able to shift many of their high earners who won't get back into their first team now they've recruited so many new players).

Big support and parachute payments, but they could be in PPF trouble if they don't go back up at the first attempt.

Lots of overpaid average foreign players who will have a shock in this league where your allowed to tackle !!!

I have a feeling that the wheels will come off just like what happened to us when we went down.

Everyone said the same last time they were down in this league. Too much quality.

The wheels won't come off. I've followed Newcastle with a close eye for many a year, and Benitez has changed that club from top to bottom this summer. They're no longer an unstable club like they were, and like we were when we came down, and their fans are right behind the team.

They also know exactly what to expect from this league, as they were in it, what, 7-8 years ago? I'll honestly be surprised if they aren't in the top two come end of the season, and with Benitez at the top I doubt they'll find themselves fighting relegation when they're back in the top flight either.

It was a completely different team, manager etc last time. Last time they kept the vast core of the squad and added a few this time they've torn it apart. I'm in no way saying I don't think they'll go up, I'm just wondering if they get a few bad results will their huge squad of premadonas be able to dig in (and stay happy with the numbers)?

Spent 45 million quid. Now I really hope they fail! Wow

Don't know why but I have a funny feeling they may just fail as many big clubs have done after relegation.

That doesn't even make any sense. Nice attempt though ;)

They've spent less than they've made back. Not rocket science.

Ah. I see what you mean now. Fair enough. However 45m. They're going to need that to pass FFP next season!

They're trying to get £30m for Sissoko, and they've still got Krul to sell. They'll end this transfer window in profit, more than likely. Doubt FFP will be an issue for them.

If the incomings are more than the outgoings in terms of ££ made to fees spent then it won't be an issue. Also there's parachute payments from the PL and 52k sellout crowds, so I think they'll fall within the FFP.

You forget about wages. The largest outgoings of any football club! And they're going to be huge!

I'm only on a wind up. But if they do fail, it might be an issue! Will certainly have to clean out next summer just in case.

Hence the money being brought in through transfers. Say they spend £50 million and bring in 80 million through selling players, added to season tickets sales and merchandise etc. That's more than enough to be covering wages. Plus the 100 million PL money helps too mind. :laughing6:
