" Bellers.....it is time "

Mon May 02, 2016 7:11 am

Ok so finishing 7th isnt bad considering whats happened. However I think its the manner in which we have done it is the most disapointing factor.
So many flat, lifeless performances. So many points dropped against sides at bottom, no creativity, no desire. No passion.

We need Bellars to come in here to inject passion into this side... id rather be having a go losing 5-4 than going to a must win game with no guts, passion or will to succeed.

The style of football has to change :thumbright:  That's not my opinion, it's the opinion of many missing fans who will only attend on a free ticket

Agreed also i can not see bellers even wanting to take over if the same budgets and aims slade was set by tan go on next season. I think a lot of people are living on cloud cuckoo land unless tan wants to spend which I doubt as we have been told by the club its time to cut our cloth now so unless they go against what we have been told then I doubt he would even bother comming :bluescarf:

Nonsene. I bet bellamy would love the job here and would be happy wheeling and dealing in the transfer market spotting talents, loaning young talent from the premier league and blooding young talent of our own, he would set high standards and i bet we would see nothing but passion and graft on the field.

Nonsense to say nobody would come here without bein able to splash a load of cash plenty of managers out there who would be happy to wheel and deal in the transfer market like slade has done and be honest slades wheeling and dealing has been embarrasing.

You set expectations.

If it is Bellers its a 3 year plan.

1- Mid table ( anything between 7th ~ 20th ) changing the playing style and the core players
2- top 10
3- play offs

Explain to the fans what he is trying to do, the game is so over analysed nowadays the opposition know what we are trying to do before the game, so being more open with the fans isn't going to hurt.

Agreed.

Tell Bellamy that there's no money and he has to work with exactly the same squad as this season and I bet he'd bite your hand off.

And we certainly wouldn't see some of the spineless performances we've seen over the last 18 months or so under Slade.

The players may not be too happy but tough shit - they've coasted along for too long and need a good arse kicking now and again.

Give youth a chance bring the fun back at CCS , 7th or 8th with journeymen is boring

Time for Bellamy and Dutch Ray and watch the season tickets and merchandising fly out of the door

Re: " Bellers.....it is time "

Mon May 02, 2016 9:17 am

I really dont get the clamour for Bellamy? The guy is passionate but that is not necessarily going to make him into a good manager. He has zero managerial experience at any level, big gamble in my opinion. I'd feel better with someone with genuine championship experience.

Snap and even if bellers did come in this board would be hounding him out after ten games if we was not in the top six the pitch folks would be out from the very same posters wanting him in, its a no win situation whoever comes in.
As for people saying we will get 1000s more fans on seats every week with another manager that's total bollocks only being up there on a promotion charge will its a proven FACT stats do not lie :laughing5:

Re: " Bellers.....it is time "

Mon May 02, 2016 10:00 am

Yep, now's the time to bring in a completely untested and unproven manager to heroically transform our fortunes and send us up to the promised land.

It's not like our fans are fickle as f**k and would lynch him if/when he struggled.

Do you remember a certain ex city player, no experience, took a certain team up to the first, brought in some old players for a season or two from one of his old clubs and young players already at the club and ended up in the first division. It has happened before, remember his name? Toshack

It certainly has happened before. Unfortunately that is the exception rather than the rule.

You also need to look what happened right after they went on that promotion run using players at the end of their careers.

Bellamy is on record stating he has turned the job down previously so it is hard to see why BB77 is talking 'nonsense?'

No doubt we could get someone to do the job, but getting a guarantee he would be better than Slade is not certain.

I could see quite a committed fast direct 433, but you never know with Bellers

Except we can't afford to keep this squad next season the wage bill is still too high

Re: " Bellers.....it is time "

Mon May 02, 2016 11:04 am

I can't see Whitts or Marshall wanting to go. Marshall would only be a back up in the premier league

I can't see many wanting Dikgachoi, full stop

I can't see many club offering Alf, Macheda, Gunnar or Nooney more money to play football than they are contracted to be paid by us.

To remove any of the above we would need to pay compensation probably in the millions. The players have to sign the contracts.......

I think Manga may get a move to a lower level premier league clubs (He would suit the Jacks) and i think Pilkington could go to a another big Championship club willing to pay a big salary.

I believe Fabio & Turner are out of contract

If we are going to be below the play offs but above the relegation zone for a few seasons, i would rather have an entertaining time watching us rather than the dire dross served up by Slade.

They couldn't have offered anywhere near enough then.

I was amazed how many players have one year left on their contracts. It could be another year before this club wakes up and a manager is given a budget to bring in the hungry players he wants. I think that's when Bellamy will come in and we will have to put up with Slade for one more year if only because of the low salary he is on

Yeah the club were just desperate to keep him along with a few others. Although desperate to clear out the rabble they were intent on keeping the best players which they did say to be fair.
