First time in the new stand yesterday

Sun Apr 03, 2016 1:38 pm

Was going to my normal seat but my good mate Gareth was up in the middle tier with his Boys and I was curious and he had a spare ticket so up we went. Was impressed with the size of the concourse and then we took our seats. It's dawned on me that nearly everyone up there was on freebies. And many were there with there kids decked out in there re branded red shirts on and I felt this is wrong these ain't my fans.
At one point Gareth and me started the Blue Army chant and the whole stand in our section turned around and started looking at us like we had just come out of the nut house (Which we did :laughing6: :laughing6: )
I made the decision that at half time I wanted to look at the top tier and then return to my rightful seat in 116. So off we went trying to find the staircase to take us up to the top tier but could we find it ? Could we fook. So we jumped in the lift with our own personal Bellboy and we ended up on the ground floor. Up we went again and got out to find we returned to the same level which is 4. Undeterred we got back in and Bingo we eventually found ourselfs on level 5.
We went out into the area of the stand which was closed and I climbed to the top followed by Stewards bellowing for me to come back down :laughing6: :laughing6: But I wasn't moving until Gareth had taken a photo :D
image.jpeg

So then it was say goodbye to Gareth and his Boys found a staircase and started my journey down down down. Got to the bottom it was deserted with all the doors closed. But being emergency exits out I went and then into 116. Back with my own people :D :D
My opinion of the new stand was great view, horrible colour seats and full of the plastic types (Apart from a few Gareth as well as he lives away from Cardiff, so when he can get here he always buys his tickets) Glad to be in with those fans that go every week come rain and shine.
Just to add it was a great idea by the Club yesterday and hopefully some fans that left with the rebrand will now come back. And to those plastic types please put your hand in your pockets and support the team for the rest of the season because to me and thousands of others fans CARDIFF CITY are for life not just the Premiership :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Cheers Nukes, very interesting :ayatollah:

Couldn't go up there myself as I don't even like thinking about those seats. One good thing about sitting in the Ninian stand is I can forget that they're there.

Can imagine yesterday it was full of plastics and people who don't even know the players names.

I'd guess the last time most of them were at a match was in the Premier League.

Yes and that is all that is is. An uneducated guess. They are just as welcome at the Stadium as you are.

Does it make you feel good to make derogatory comments about fellow City fans, or maybe you believe you are more important than other City fans.

But was those there a few weeks ago when we had around 10.000 in the Stadium ? No One thing they ain't like you and me as you said Bluetwin they only come when A / we are in the Prem or B/ when it's free. That is there choice ain't arguing that but what I was saying they didn't feel like CCFC fans to me. But that's my opinion. :bluescarf:

Does it feel like ccfc fans when it was 10000 so called diehards there? The place is a library then and most of the season. Could you not argue they all plastics as there's no atmosphere most of season??

I think people who refer to others as plastics says more about them then the others.

Enjoy supporting ccfc like you do don't worry about how committed others are you can't control it and make every one as passionate as you. Different people have different priorities in life that's all don't make them second class citizens.

Let's enjoy the ride to the play offs and the. Who knows where. :-)

The original poster is yet another person who seems to want to call everyone 'plastics' who don't go to home games all the time. The post started off really well, with the interesting opinion on the 'new' stand, but then just degenerated into the usual drivel that we sadly see from many very strange people who post on this forum. Let's go back to crowds of under 5,000 like we had years ago, will they be happy then ? For me, all so called 'plastics' are more than welcome at the City.

The reason nukes is criticising 'plastics' is for the way some of them act in the ground. Fans have got to start watching the team at some stage and a game like yesterday was the perfect opportunity for new fans. Nukes and myself started a blue army chant and the looks we had off those around us were like we'd committed mass murder. We didn't swear or anything. Just tried to get behind our team. It was the same for me when we were in the premier league. I had season tickets in family stand. I regularly got told to sit down and was given crap for trying to support the team that I've followed for 35 years in all 4 leagues.

This will always be a bone of contention amongst ccfc fans which I accept. The solution would be to reorganise where people sit. Move family stand to other end of ground and then allow home fans to stand in ninian stand and grange end. Use upper ninian as an extra family stand for bigger crowds. Sadly Wayne ex hooligan Nash would not allow this to happen.

Wow, knock the 'plastics' and 'wayne nash' all in one post.

If Saturday proved anything it's that there is nothing wrong with the present ground configuration - atmosphere was fine.

Hi nuclear
I was in the upperstand yesterday only about 20 yards from you when you had the photo taken before the 15 yr old looking steward called you down. Ive been following the city a longtime and due to now having a big family its not easy to get to games but i buy merchandise ( blue ) and have had a few season tickets over at ninian park and enjoyed away trips to newcastle . blackppol many times and arsenal. I took one adult and 2 kids at a good price of £40 as no more space in family stand so they used the top stand it was not free and i was impressed with the view . Whilst il understand having low crowds aint great but even if adults got free tickets and brought there children. Isnt it a good thing if even 5 % get addicted to the club we love as these will be the future fans. Slating them as someone Probaby one of your people as you say gave them free tickets isnt really fair. We all start as fans somewhere and i for one am happy club are making an effort with such promotions. I usually enjoy your posts and not having a go. Just saying how i feel

Hey up Chief I did say it was a good idea and if we can get a few more to come then it will be worth it. But sadly it is true some only do come for the big games or when it's free. Like yourself in years gone by when my kids were young I had to pick and choose games because of cost, that's the way it is and I 100% respect that, but ain't it funny some will soon find the money if we get back to the Prem. Since dropping out the Prem we have lost I would say over 13000 fans through the gate. And as I said not all but many up there I bet was there first visit this season.
Just pissed me off to see our fans in Liverpool and Manure shirts and some with Wales rugby scarfs at the game. But if some come back all well and good but unless it's another freebie then I would say 90% won't bother. Sad but true.
Don't think for one minute I am having a go at someone like you who comes when he can, you are obviously a City fan through and through.

Im sick of hearing about plastics, the more successful you are the bigger the crowd, always been the same. plastics to my mind are people from S.Wales who profess their love for Liverpool man.utd without actually going to see them, there's probably more of them than Cardiff and Swansea fans put together, and I for one despise them.
