" OPPORTUNITY MISSED "

Tue Mar 08, 2016 9:45 pm

Terrible result, but we didn't deserve to lose.

Big opportunity missed though with Birmingham and Derby losing and Sheffield Wednesday and Ipswich drawing.

So we're still in it, despite losing.

BUT the win we deserved would have put us in a great position.

Need to beat Ipswich on Saturday now.

Zohore has to put though's chances away. Shocking so many chances not taken concede two goals on the beak away. A top quality striker is what we a missing. Can't believe Saadi wasn't given a chance.

We played some good stuff tonight just didn't get what we deserved.

Their keeper was man of the match but we just didn't have the luck, quality or composure to finish one of our many chances. Feel sad because we need to win these type of games because frankly Leeds are shite. Looks like Steve Evans has a bit of a hoodoo over Slade. Ipswich is a must win, hope we can play with the same passion and take a few chances.

Ipswich concede last kick of the match, no major damage tonight.

Def Ned, 3pts lost, I had a bad feeling about tonight
We needed these 3pts.

Pretty much as you were. One of those nights tonight. We were superb and if we play like that for the last 10 games we have every chance of a top 6 place

3 big points dropped tonight Ned, we're lucky the teams around us failed to win :ayatollah:

Let's hope for a win on Saturday :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I didn't realise they'd conceded at the end - great news!

We need to go on another two game winning streak!

If we get in the playoffs we need to win three, is it possible? :sladeout: :sladeout:

I have to admit that I did lose a bit of hope when Zohore came on. I've yet to see him do anything good.

Saadi must be fit as has been on the bench a lot recently, but doesn't even get 10 minutes? We don't know if he's any good, but surely worth a go?

Their keeper had a great game, agree on that. How Noone's free kick stayed out I'll never know.

True, but all is not lost Annis. No change to the table apart from Wednesday and Ipswich gaining a point.

Agree 100%.

We deserved the three points tonight. Can't be too downbeat but looking at the other results it is annoying we have failed to take the initiative. Into the final stretch now.

Typical Leeds scum, all those years we have beaten them and when it really matters they up their game to win.

We were very unlucky tonight Mason, didn't deserve to lose that. But we can still put ourselves in a great position this weekend.

I think five wins and maybe a draw will be enough.

Yes we can, and I have full faith in the manager to do it. Anything can happen in the play-offs.

Agree with that. 10 games to go and, as Paul says, if we play like that for those ten games we have a great chance.

Have faith out there guys! Tonight we should have won, even with 10 men, you can feel the spirit in the players and fans coming together. At Bristol maybe they should have won, that's football. We come back strong together as one on Saturday, and batter Ipswich, leave them gasping for air. Slade needs to give Saadi a game, mix it up a little, then go with the tried and trusted second half if its not working, no more subs on 79 minutes lol Slade!

Keep the faith.

Over and out, Kev 116 City Fan!

The other results helped us out tonight, Saturday is a big game and hope we can get a decent crowd to support the team. If we play like we did tonight, we should win.

whilst dissapointing we lost cannot win every game at home, averages said we were due a defeat, so roll on Sat and ipswich hopefully can go on another unbeaten run at home until end season.

That's true as well. If we win on Saturday then, due to the other results tonight, we could be in the play-offs with just nine games to go after that.

Re: " OPPORTUNITY MISSED "

Its a missed chance to take advantage while other teams lost, but we are not out of it so many teams are inconsistent, hopefully we can beat Ipswich. I have a feeling it will go to the last game where Birmingham, Ipswich, Sheffield or City will sneak in the last playoff spot.

Re: " OPPORTUNITY MISSED "

Wed Mar 09, 2016 1:59 am

I thought that was a super display by Cardiff City after they were reduced to 10 men and we still 'bossed' the game against the Yorkshire Time Bandits! ;)

Their second goal was a direct and opportunist consequence of our team's willingness to 'go for it' and I have nothing but praise for their display. On another day (playing like that) we'd have turned it around!

Absolutely right, nobody out of us four (us, Birmingham, Wednesday and Ipswich) are consistent. And I think Derby will be dragged further into it. A win on Saturday will be huge, and much bigger than our defeat tonight.

I'm not sure I could handle it if it went to the final day!

Agree Sven, I have no complaints with the way we played which is why I'm not too downbeat. I think if we play like that for a high percentage of the next 10 games, we'll be in the play-offs.

I'm looking forward to Saturday.

Your right Derby are definitely getting dragged back into it. If it did go to the last day it would be sweet revenge to pip sheff Wednesday to the last place on the final day :ayatollah:

Love the optimism but it doesn't feel like we are going to make it really, perfect opportunity last night against an awful Leeds team with nothing to play for, manager about to be sacked even and we still couldn't do it. Ipswich will be much better than Leeds.
