The Emperors speech

Fri Feb 12, 2016 8:34 am

Posters are not shy in giving the advice that fans should 'move on' from the past and get behind the club.

Maybe it's time for Tan to do the same. Just because Slade hasn't got money to spend doesn't make him more capable. Tan needs to let that time in history slide, he is far from blameless in not employing capable personell in high value transfer activity, or indeed his well paid CEO personally vetoeing such deals.

For me, 'waste' is all relative. Slade is just as capable one should assume of wasting millions if left to 'shop at harrods.'

There is a lot of positive news, i do believe that VT will leave the club in good health. Another particular aspect of Tans persona is the need to make it public knowledge his friends/family want him to bankrupt the club. We still hear the same sound bite of people/family telling him to pull out and cut ties with the club, that particular line has been utilised numerous times and in my opinion should be dropped now. Reservations should be kept private, I don't see why VT continually needs to remind the fans of this.

Yes, its time fans moved on. Yes, fans need more consultation, Tan has made a big step in the right direction in regards to popularity. One thing that cannot be denied is the club has changed so much in his time here. You can't have a 33k stadium for Championship football, over to you now Tan for the second promotion

Re: The Emperors speech

I think he has admitted his mistakes and that he listened to the wrong people, he knew little about football and trusted the wrong people.

I agree its time to move on but his speech was all relative to the situation, he has a point in that Ole and Malky wasted a lot of money of which he is writing off.

Im over the moon about the debt to equity but also throughout his speech he seems keen on putting things right, im hoping we will not be run property and breaking even each season.

Luke, I never hear much about the £3mil he personally wasted on etien velikonja. The Malky talk needs to be confined to history now :ayatollah:

He admits mistakes with little detail but has plenty of time to talk about Malkys :laughing6:

Why does Tan always go public with the reservations of friends/family ?

Messiah complex, the saviour.

I honestly have never heard of any other owner to do this at every interview

Good morning Wez :) you think maybe the debt to equity was forced upon him? I mean we are under a transfer embargo. What's in it for Tan in reducing the club debt other than getting restrictions lifted. These are my thoughts

Well if its his money and he was personally responsible.so what.Between Malky and Scam the guy has been financially raped. So I guess in your eyes he is still a kunt for making us debt free in 5yrs.I've been a city fan over 40yrs,never in all that time has any owner come close to making us debt free.

I'll believe it when it happens thank you. As it stands, we are in more debt than when he took over and under a transfer embargo. I'll keep the champagne in the fridge for a long while yet

People have short memories, debt to equity is a renegaded promise from Tan from years back

All of a sudden the business can't purchase players an announcement is made. What timing

Where, or how did Malky rape the club? Could you provide the evidence to back this up? As Tan spent a fortune (allegedly) trying to prove this and could not.
As you now seem to have this evidence I am sure you could provide Tan with it so he could continue his vendetta against the man who got us promoted to the PL.

I enjoyed the match day experience under Sam, it was a good time. I don't particularly want to turn this thread into Sam/Langston debate.

All I would like to see is sensible ownership in the future

I think that's where the confusion lies, if I told you to buy me a pony and deliver it to my doorstep would you do it?

Malky asked Tan to buy him a Danish bloke for a ridiculous amount, it was Tan doing the buying, not Malky

And now the anti tan brigade start over again. Lmao. A few hours of positivity from 99% of poster but a few bitter twisted few get put too of the pile. Strange agenda and you entitled to you views of course that I respect.
But don't you want the best for ccfc in the long term??

loads of other managers have been given war chests to get promotion and failed the difference is malky delivered ,he bought poorly on Cornelius but the majority of his signings were successful, lets just leave it there now and try to pull together instead of everyone blaming eachother for past mistakes :old: :bluescarf:

Yes I do want what's best for CCFC, I'm not bitter honestly that's harsh! :laughing6: look its only a forum, all opinions welcome and all that.

I've made my feelings clear and that is I am sceptical of the timing. Even Tan admitted this should be enough to lift the embargo now. Fans shouldn't act the fool forever in believing decisions are made in their best interest

I respect peoples views like I said in my post. If tan doesn't do what he says then we no better or worse of than last week. But least now there genuine hope we go in the right direction of being debt free what ever his reasons. And that is positive for all concerned with ccfc.
