My View/Opinion

" IN A WET AND COLD CCFC STADIUM, CITY DREW TO LOWLY MK DONS "
The play offs look a far distance

In a wet and cold Cardiff City Stadium, players were slipping, getting stuck in the mud and not able to run at pace without falling over.
The crowd in attendance was no more than 10,000.

For me this became anyone's game as I felt who ever put the ball in the net first would win the game.

Tom Lawrence did well on his debut and looked quite useful :ayatollah:

CARDIFF CITY 0 MK DONS 0

Crowd 13,833
Away Support Aporox 450 MK Dons fans

CARDIFF CITY TEAM: Marshall, Fabio, Malone, Connolly, Manga, Ameobi, O'Keefe, Ralls, Whittingham, Lawrence & Pilkington.

Subs : Moore, Peltier, Dikgacoi, Gunnarsson, Macheda, Immers, Zohore.

City went in to this game on a high, undefeated in their last 3 matches and facing MK Dons who had been taking a few hammering of late including a 0-5 home defeat by Burnley and a 1-3 away loss at bottom of the table Bolton which had left MK 1 point above above relegation.

The football was dire with no creativity and it really was like watching paint dry.
To be fair the weather was not helping at sll, but it was the same for both teams.

35 mins one and City no shots on target, but then a bit of life to the game, Whittingha pass to Lawrence who hit the post

O'Keefe had a header saved by the Dons keeper in the 43rd min.

45th min Whitts missed a sitter and shot over the bar.

Half-Time City 0 MK 0

The rain continued to poor down.
City had their first proper shot and it was a good one by Malone, which was superbly saved by the MK keeper .
City continued to go forward with a Pilkington volley saved.

Nicky Maynard missed a one on one with Marshall.

In the 63rd min Lawrence was down Ref played on and then when Ameobi had it with a clear shot on goal which he put in the net, Ref blew up for Lawrence down, City crowd were fuming :geek:

77th min Kenneth Zohore made his debut and replaced Ameobi.

86th min Macheda came on for Pilkighton.

My Man of the Match Sammy Ameobi :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
I nearly gave it to Tom Lawrence as he had a very good debut :ayatollah:

Next up Charlton Away Next Saturday :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Can't fault the effort in the conditions this was a potential banana skin and we created a lot of chances Lawrence looks a decent player Pilkington maybe isn't quite a number 9 and a recognized striker should take his place but M K Dons sat deep and quite frustrating but on to Charlton Ameobi My MOTM. :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Sounds like we were a bit unlucky today, but all the same there's no excuse for not winning these sorts of games if we're serious about play-offs. Five points off the top six now.

Need to win at Charlton next week, and I'll be there :ayatollah:

M K Dons just sat deep and there keeper kept us out with a couple of good saves I can't fault the effort of trying to win the game we attacked a lot and had a lot of corners but they defended I would've put Zohore on at half time to gives us height with the crosses we were putting in.

True but poor conditions will always suit a lesser side trying to stop a better side playing.

Re: My View "IN A WET AND COLD CCFC STADIUM CITY "

I have no complaints, the conditions were difficult and some fans didn't aporeciate that. We created so many clear chances and be it the post a great save a last ditch block or indeed a poor Finnish we couldn't hit the net. The worry would be if we did not create, I like the look of the " new look city " passed and moved it well and now have some pace.

Lawrence restricted first half but grew in to the game and confidence grew, will do well for us. The other lad didn't look like a football player but can't judge off ten minutes.

Dissapointing frustrated but that's football. A side looking to go up would have dug out a one nil, it wasn't through lack of trying. On to the next game :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

Annis, like you said about Leicester - there's no such thing as luck and you make your own luck. We can't make excuses about luck or the conditions because the fact is we didn't beat a team we really should have.

Its not good enough to draw these sorts of matches.

My thoughts exactly far to many changes every week.

Maybe RS is on a bonus to just keep us outside of the play offs?

It's no surprise we are getting our best results on the road, as the home teams will always try and attack which leaves them more open at the back. When it comes to us having to open teams up at home, we can't seem to be capable of doing it. I just don't think that Slade has it in his psyche to able to put a team together that are able to go for a result, without being exposed at the back. His method, seems to be, safety first, which will get you so far, but will never win you promotions. That in my opinion is why he has never had any real success as a manager

Your right on this, this is where Slade shows he's not a top Championship manager as he does not know how to break down teams who come to defend.
