' Cardiff Season Ticket Update '

Fri Jan 29, 2016 11:42 am

The club have decided that they win not release any costs for season tickets for 2016/17 till Middle of March.

Premiership season 22,000 season tickets
This season 9,500 season tickets

So next season be lucky to get 5000 season tickets

So how many season tickets will we have next season

Re: Cardiff Season Ticket Update

Fri Jan 29, 2016 11:52 am

well it depends completely on the price. They might well knock 100 quid off all adult tickets and drastically reduce them for kids as well.

Re: Cardiff Season Ticket Update

Fri Jan 29, 2016 12:08 pm

all kids tickets should be £50 anywhere in the ground with a full paying adult (or snr citizen)...additional kids tickets for same family should be £25 each (for those families with more than 1 kid)

I don't think its do with price its about being entertained

Re: Cardiff Season Ticket Update

For some it will depend on who the manager is, or likely to be.

For others it's about blind loyalty and being there when club needs you. :bluescarf:

I agree that the majority of it is the entertainment value but I think some is to do with the price

I think they should reduce season ticket prices next season as I think this would get more people buying them better to have a full ground of people paying reduced price than a less than half empty ground of people paying full price

Here we go again we will only get 5000 ,how about waiting and seeing

Re: Cardiff Season Ticket Update

All will be cleare come March and will be the right time to put season tickets on sale, now is not the right time.

Re: Cardiff Season Ticket Update

Fri Jan 29, 2016 12:53 pm

I would hope for a minimum of 4000 to 5000 then a walk up of say 2000 so we should at least average 6000 to 7000 next season at the very minimum. I would imagine certain stands may be closed off next season to get an atmosphere going. If 500 away fans come to we may get 7500 with luck :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Some on here are not happy unless they are stirring or posting doom and gloom sounds like they want us to fail which I find very strange indeed :bluebird: :bluebird:

I go because I am a Cardiff City fan - I belong to it, always will. As long as I can afford it I will buy my ST.

There are a few like that but most, I think, are just being realistic in what they think will happen.

The answer to how many will be sold is, of course, a mixture of the above reasons and not just one.

It's the nature of things nowadays, but that's up to them, their choice, their loss - but not mine :bluebird:

Some deliberately depressing figures guessed at in many posts here. The same happened last season when many of the usual suspects predicted we would be down to 10,000 per game this season. I'd be amazed if we get any home attendance of less than 11,000 next season. I think most of the good time Charlie's and people who haven't got the backbone to support the club in so-called 'bad' times have gone already. Various reasons / excuses have been used to justify this from shirt colour to Tan to Slade to stewarding to atmosphere to pricing (this last one is the most ridiculous when you compare us with many other Championship clubs). Note, people did not flock back in their thousands when we went back to blue, except for one game! Slade is the most recent excuse - he won't be here next season as his contract ends and there is no likelihood of him being given a new one. But people won't come back any time soon unless there is real success on the pitch. This may not be a bad thing as at least those left might be, hopefully, supportive of the club and not so damn depressing and doom-mongering all the time.

Prices need to be slashed considerably in my opinion, I was never renewing this season but I didn't see any reason for the price increase and was proved right. Problem is they keep giving cheaper offers for tickets, I've saved loads of money this season and haven't missed a game that I could make or wanted to go to.

Agree - we have become a very odd bunch. I've said this before, but it bears repeating:
Some fans have been miserable, depressing and pessimistic for so long now that they just don't know how to stop. They enjoy wallowing in self-pity and misery.

I think the figures will be close to this season. I've enjoyed this season more than last to be honest. It hasn't been a huge improvement but better. I think a decent deal for ST's will mean similar numbers renewing and a similar attendance next season. I remember this time last year we were told there were only 5,000 people renewing, that didn't turn out to be correct.

What if the really unlikely scenario of promotion via play-offs happens? 22000 season ticket holders next season

Price is obviously a issue. I like to renew but if it's a price increase then it's certainly going to be a tough decision

Excellent post valid points - it is all down to how the teams performing which makes people want to come and watch the city. Like some of us blue is running through or veins and whether we were in league 2 or still in the championship I'll be there. ( we're has this slogan gone)

If they increase prices will be the final straw for some people. But if they reduce prices I think we will be pleasantly surprised with the numbers as people will surely come back as they miss the crack on a Sat with their friends & socialise.

Also think closing the Ninian pub hast helped this is my opinion which others may share. As it was a meeting point to catch up and discuss the game.

Surely getting a manager that can inspire and galvanise the players next season will put some bums on seats.

Something has to be done. We are suppose to be a "Big Club" but the foundation of our club has seriously big holes in it. But for me not the right infrastructure right people to turn this club around at present.

22k in red
9.5k in blue

They will come back if Tan reverses the rebrand they said, fact is majority of our fanbase, red or blue will only watch us when we are doing well they never said.

If the rebrand hadn't been reversed last season I believe we would have been getting less than 10,000 this season.

Of course you are right about the fact that many supporters will only watch a successful team, but then that's pretty bloody obvious isn't it.
