" SO WHERE DOES THIS LEAVE SLADE/CITY & THE PLAY-OFFS? "

So with Joe Mason looking likely to leave this week and Slade saying the play-offs are what his target is.

Where does that leave Cardiff City upfront and if we need back up due to injuries/suspensions etc?

And also with Alex Revell told he can leave and the club willing to listen to offers for Federico Macheda, the move would see Russell Slade significantly light on attacking options and restricted by low-wage loan moves as part of the embargo placed on the club under Financial Fair Play rules.

Recent weeks have seen Anthony Pilkington play in a Strikers role with recent loan signing from Feyenoord, midfielder Lex Immers, also pushed forward when he made his debut in last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Rotherham.

Pilkington also is known to be plagued by injuries, but when fit can do a good job as recently seen by City fans.

We won't know where this leaves us until Monday when all business is done and dusted. In a way we are no worse off because Mason and Revell have not so far, and would not in the future get us in to the top six. Anybody would think they have been banging the goals in for fun as an exciting and fearsome striking duo. Good luck to them both, they weren't cutting it here.

There has never been any real prospect of play off's.

Whatever Slade says.

Slade has to say that to show face but he knows he has both hands tied behind his back.

A wasted season when a bit of ambition and decent management could have seen City take this league; it won't be easier this season to get up than ever before.

Next season will have the likes of Villa, Sunderland, Norwich, Swansea, Bournemouth, Newcastle etc probably taking the top 3 spots.

We're not under the low wage loan restrictions yet because were still under 24 squad players.

Revel won't get us anywhere and 3m for mason, you can't say no!

It all depends who we get in!

That's a good point the impact of both players has been superficial so losing them shouldn't really change a lot.

Agree with all the above comments. Mason is not a spectacular loss. I would be more concerned about Noone, Pilks or Ralls leaving.

My concern is the cover we have upfront. What happens if Pilks gets injured. Macheda is unreliable and injury prone. Saadi has basically not played since we got him. I hope the club brings in some cover.

Same place as yesterday 5 points off them? Time will tell if affects the playoffs by having limited forwards in squad! He's not prolific so cannot say makes big difference him going. :old:

Agree it's not like our strikers have been scoring anyway

It leaves us mid table like most of us predicted pre season.

Ageing, massive, expensive group of players who have lost their game. Lets see some of the U-21's bust a gut for the chanc eof the big time. Not many at Spurs fancied harry Kane, lets see if Tommy O'Sullivan can cut it in the championship. Ralls made the jump this season, we need at least on a season.

The Ole reign was a nightmare which by the season's end should be over.

As we have done for many seasons we always live in hope that next season will be ours.

Yes we are under the low wage restriction. It is the further restriction of the lower of £600k p.a. and 75% of the outgoing player wages that comes into force when the qualifying player level gets up to 24

Remarkable that people still harbour a belief we can make the play offs? Our team and performances have been on a slow decline. For every win against Wolves away there's a draw at home to Rotherham. Slade is not the man to get us promotion, our team is the worst it's been for years. I am amazed we are within 5 points.

Sack Slade and start again.

I don't think we were ever really getting into the playoffs with Slade in charge, cut back as much as possible now and give a new manager a chance next summer with funds.

The transfer embargo maybe blessing.

Wasted season as others have said, followed by another VT has lost interest with his toy :bluebird:

Next season the club will have another few thousand supporters failing to renew season tickets. It's getting out of control a bit and really sad to see

If these players are going then likes of our big hitters will want away and who could blame them :bluescarf:

Astonishing that we are only 5 points off so the season there is still something to play for you never know we could go on a run I hope.

Bollax to the play offs we have zero chance.

Right this season off, sell the lot and start again and hope a new manager comes in with a play football mentality.

And then there are those who shoot from the halfway line which Tan would like to see more of in our defence apparently ;-)

Wouldn't call it hardened pessimism, more like realism.

I think you have to have your head buried deep in the sand if you think we can make the play offs. We will do well to finish in the top ten.
