" MATTHEW KENNEDY "

CCFC can confirm that Matthew Kennedy has joined Port Vale on a one-month loan deal, subject to international clearance.

The twenty-one year-old midfielder will link up with the League One side immediately and could feature in as many as seven games for the Valiants.

The loan term will end following Vale’s fixture with Southend United on February 27th, 2016.

We wish Matty the very best during his time away and look forward to his return.

Great signing for them

This is going to be embarrassing. I have no idea why we are loaning him out and Kennedy is way too good for League 1 level. He is going to be a different class and stand out a mile.

An unbelieveable signing for Port Vale, I will definitely be putting them in my accumulator with Kennedy there, that's for sure!

promising yes. i think people think hes better than he actually is though just to help their argument against slade that he should be playing.

Im glad hes getting game time and hopefully he performs well at port vale.

He is much better than Ameobi and in my opinion should have been given a lot more game time this season. Port Vale have done well. We haven't

This is just another example of City being managed by someone who has not a clue.

Kennedy showed enough in 10 minutes in the Shrewsbury game (before being sent off to full back) to justify some league action.

This is just another to add to the list of players he ahs brought in and either have not been good enough or not given enough chance.

The longer this useless manager stays the worse it is going to get.

Has anyone questioned why he is getting loaned out cause from what i've heard he's a childish goon with a chip on his shoulder.

Look the kid isn't the next Messi, he's a talent but far off the finished article and to say he impressed against Shrews IMO is laughable, he barely did anything.

If he comes back with a better attitude and a more mature outlook, I hope he can force his way into the team.

if what your saying is right I would of loaned him out to a team in division 2 or the conference give him a wake up call .
show where he will end up if he doesn't man up and sort himself out

good on slade and good on the club I say

Re: " MATTHEW KENNEDY "

Well, he should be on the bench every game for us. He'd make far more of an impact than Ameobi.....mind Noddy would probably play him at fullback!

Re: " MATTHEW KENNEDY "

Mon Jan 25, 2016 4:05 pm

Another decision which is crazy .

At least he has to wait until summer until Dinosaur goes then he`ll get his chance .

I`m assuming we have a clause to bring him back in case Noone is injured

At least this means that Noone wont be sold now I assume

Was excellent towards end of last season for us! Offers much more pace and direct running than Ameobi! Good luck to the lad, but disappointed that we havnt given him a chance!

Cardiff City winger Matthew Kennedy has joined League One outfit Port Vale on a one-month loan deal. Kennedy has been out of favour this season despite featuring heavily last season.

The club have today confirmed that Kennedy has joined Robert Page’s Port Vale for an initial one month loan. Kennedy has featured sixteen times since joining Cardiff on a free transfer from Everton in January 2015.

Kennedy was absent from the Cardiff City Development fixture on Monday afternoon as he completed his loan move. The Scotsman has featured just once in the league this season, coming on as a substitute in a 2-0 defeat at Derby.
The former Everton wide-man has featured heavily for the Cardiff City Development team this season but in a critical period of his development, he needs to play first-team football and at League One he will play at a relatively high standard.

The 21-year-old’s loan spell at Vale will end following their fixture with Southend United on February 27th. The Valiants are currently eleventh in League One, just six points from the top six.

Port Vale have also brought in Theo Robinson until the end of the season as they look to mount a play-off push in Sky Bet League One.

If that f*cking donkey ameobi wasnt here im sure we would see a lot more of kennedy but slade aint got a clue to be fair. When ameobi and hopefully slade fucks off at the end of the season we will see kennedy be given the chance he deserves.

You do realise Slade brought Kennedy in don't you? So Slade must clearly rate him.

Kennedy impressed last season but was then barely given a chance to impress pre season, nevermind when the season started.

Kennedy came on as a sub against Shrewsbury and impressed, that performance should have been more than enough to at least get him a place on the bench, but he's immediately kicked back out of the squad.

So do you really think it's 100% Slade's decision not to play Kennedy? Something definitely doesn't add up for me.

Yes I do, he makes enough strange decisions as it is.

He couldn't even get on in the cup game (MK dons?). Slade often plays players a lot and then drops them for no apparent reason.

So you think Slade is 100% responsible for his team selections and tactics then?

Yes mostly, no doubt Tan tries to interfere a little but not to the extent some like to think.
I doubt Tan was watching the cup games telling him not to play Kennedy.

Maybe Tan should be in charge doubt he would sign players to loan out again

I think Tan interferes a lot more than you think. Juan Cala's tweet stating Tan forced him to train with the academy boys with Slade having nothing to do with it is one example. Obviously, Slade had no option to select Cala then.

I wonder if Slade has been restricted from selecting Kennedy the same way he was restricted from selecting Cala, Guerra, Daehli etc?

Personally, I think Slade would be utilising Kennedy a lot more, IF he was allowed to. Slade clearly rates Kennedy to have wanted to bring him into our football club 12 months ago after all.

Re: " MATTHEW KENNEDY "

Tue Jan 26, 2016 1:58 pm

so you obviously feel the same way about Doyle then?

Slade obviously rates him a lot to have spent 700k on him 12 months ago... Tam must have sent him out on loan.

The players you mentioned were frozen out because they had to leave the club, i would have thought that was obvious and completely different to someone on a low wage that Slade brought here himself and now clearly doesnt trust to perform well for the first team

Re: " MATTHEW KENNEDY "

My opinion, another of Slades players who he has hardly ever played for us.

Doyle is obviously different because despite doing a decent job last season, he wasn't guaranteed to be a regular starter this season and he wanted to leave for first team football. Preston then made an offer and it was an opportunity for Slade to offload an unhappy Doyle and use his wages to bring in someone to strengthen our squad further, although Tan completely broke his promise with that and hasn't given Slade a single penny to spend this season.

except we have brought in other players though havent we.... so Doyle meager wage is being used on other players.

not sure how its different though, you say Doyle wasnt going to be guaranteed a regular starting place.... why was kennedy?

fact is its just your opinion that he should have been, one i dont really disagree with by the way, but because he isnt playing you think it must be for any other reason except the fact that slade isnt picking him.... just like he wasnt going to be picking Doyle.

Doyle pretty much asked for a move though didn't he. It seemed to me Kennedy was happy to stick around at the time and fight for his place, but he hasn't been given any opportunity this season.

We've offloaded loads of players this season, we must be on around 18 or 19 players offloaded now and all we have brought in is Saadi, who's Tan's signing (and I think he will be a very good signing to be fair), 3 loans (Ameobi, Immers and Tony Watt who has now left) and 3 free transfers (Tamas, Ajayi and Blase).

I think Slade was happy for Doyle to be offloaded so he could bring in his own replacement, but he hasn't been allowed to. I'm sure Slade would love to have Doyle at the club as an option right now with our limited striker options.

I'm not sure why Kennedy hasn't been loaned out until now, but I doubt he's on as high wages as Doyle and Kennedy seemed happy to stay at the time and fight for his place. Obviously, he hasn't been given a chance and he's been loaned out for regular games. I hope he performs for Port Vale and comes back to us an even better player who can finally command a starting place in our team.

Don't see how this is a bad decision, would you rather him rot here with no game time? Good decision.

Re: " MATTHEW KENNEDY "

Tue Jan 26, 2016 5:13 pm

Good move for Kennedy to get some first team football. Far too many players ahead of him here.

Re: " MATTHEW KENNEDY "

Tue Jan 26, 2016 5:36 pm

Kennedy had been up to some things off the field which have gott him in a bit of bother, and the club has given him time to get himself back in order. That is why we are starting to see him get a little nearer to the first team squad, starting with a loan spell to get some match fitness. Nothing illegal, I understand.
