' Lex Immers debut '

I'd give him a 7/10. Put himself in the right places, did ok in the air, dithered a bit with his one on one but overall a positive run out. Looks like he could be a useful addition.

I'd start him ahead of Mason.

He is a box to box midfielder not a striker ,looked full of energy but I don't know where slade is going to fit him in

He can play as number 10.

Agreed, Mason deserves to be dropped after his poor showing today.

Immers had an OK debut. He looks an attacking threat, took up good positions and gave us something a bit different to break them down. He won possession back for Pilkington's equaliser and did a couple of nice flicks and touches. Hopefully there will be a lot more to come.

I'm a big fan of Joe Mason but we had a much greater physical presence with Pilks and Immers up there. He gives us a genuine option, something we have been frustratingly short of for a good while. If we can bring another striker in the same mould at Watt in, I will be more confident that we could actually scrape into the top six.

I could play 10, doesn't mean I'd be any good at it....

Wasn't that impressed. In a team so devoid of pace he doesn't give any and didn't look that technical either.

He needs more minutes to be given a proper judgement.

We looked far more threatening when he was on for Mason.

Although I can't decide whether that's because he was very good or it's just because Mason was/is so poor.

Lex, looked good and was everywhere, but will judge him after 5 games :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I think he's a centre mid and could take o Keefe or gunners place he looked very mobile

I thought okeefe had a good game again today. Following up from last week performance. Lex to me seems very stiff and not very technical

How many Dutch teams play 442, they are brought up on 433

Thought he looked a bit donkey like I'm afraid. But time will tell, hopefully he will turn out okay. But I think our season is pretty much done and hosed now. Bit of luck we could finish in top 12 :bluebird:

Had a great chance to score but took far too long to pull the trigger. A midfield player not one to lead the line.

But that's not the point. He is a box to box midfielder which is what many have said we have needed all season. We play him front. Ludicrous. Not fair on him, the team, or the fans. By the end the team had no shape what so ever.

Slade out please, please please.

Immers plays just behind the striker. That's his position but when defending, he does his fair share of tracking back. This is according to Feyenoord fans anyway.

We lacked a bit of shape at the end because Peltier got sent off.

Because we have one less home game, and seeing as we have only won three away games all season we need home wins especially against the lower teams.

I thought the season was dusted on Boxing day

Mason would have scored the one on one

I'd start me ahead of Mason, but Immers did not impress me today. Not technically gifted, not fast, not a finisher, and not someone who is going to turn our season round - but better than what we have at present? Probably yes.
May be ( as he is a tall lad) he can be given the job of heading away opposition corners - we missed Kennwyne Jones today for that if nothing else.

Re: ' Lex Immers debut '

Up front he did no better than revel would have done. He isn't going to ignite our season and can see him slipping down the order quite quickly. I realise it's a 35min debut but sometimes it's all it takes to make an accurate call. I really hope I'm wrong.

Jesus Christ, the last two posts on this thread are nothing short of pathetic, our fans are mental sometimes, judging him after 35 mins.

I'm surprised anyone wants to come here with some of our fans thinking we deserve nothing less than the Ronaldos of this world.

Your right and there are still 54 points to play for but so far we have won approx 48% of the points available from the 28 games we have played. In an average Championship season a club will need 75 points to reach the playoffs which leaves us needing to take 63% of the remaining points available. Can you honestly say that you can see any situation where we can improve by 15% on our current points haul over the final 3rd of the season. :?

Remember the minimum goal for the club is to finish in the playoffs and , in my opinion, that's why people describe our season as "Done and dusted" because you know what? In terms of the playoffs it bloody well is, and long before yesterdays result.
