He's a good player at this level, even though apparently he didn't play well today, but he's not worth £10m.

Marshall is better a similar standard at saving goals as he is scoring goals, and he's not worth £10m.

Thought he was quiet today. Manga made a superb tackle on him in 1st half when he seemed to be free. Apart from that he hardly had a kick. Manga and connolly were comfortable :bluescarf:

Didn't realise he was playing! Watt is a better prospect.

Although, he is a talent and natural goalscorer. Just at a poor team and in poor form

Blackburn turned down Boro's reported offer of £13 million last season for Rhodes and he wanted the move ...... they then let Rhudi Gestede go to Villa for £7 million , so I think he would jump at the chance this time round
There are certainly some inflated valuations put on players these days , but for clubs competing for promotion and doing well the rewards are there ...... massive money next season in the premiership

They might accept this time, they are skint and in trouble and he might want to leave.

Scored plenty of goals at this level.. always a risk but it could be good investment if they go up and they want him for the Prem.

Gray was a risk for Burnley but is doing the business.

He'll have to climb out of Bruno's pocket first.

If I were Blackburn I'd bite their hand off. Don't remember him ever scoring against City. Good a few years ago but certainly not worth that sort of money.

They got it in people's heads he was worth over ten as soon as they bought him.

However poor he's played people still say he wouldnt go for single figure millions

He's alright like

Very average - Ross McCormack would be a better and cheaper option.

He's averaged a goal less than every two games for Blackburn and Huddersfield.

Brilliant record

Ridiculous. And marshal costs 5m who almost singalong handedly kept us in the PL

How can you compare a GK value to a strikers? Strikers come at a premium.

Is 10m really that ridiculous when compared to what other clubs have paid for top strikers in this division? Burnley paid 9m for Gray and Fulham 11m for Mcormack? He has more goals at this level than both of them.

McCormack would be cheaper now than the £11m Fulham reputedly paid for him and he has 4 more goals this season than Rhodes. Rhodes looked useless today against a Cardiff team that hasn't kept a clean sheet for ages! So, yes, in my opinion, McCormack would be the cheaper and better option.

in my eyes a top goalkeeper who will win you games is just as valuable as a 20 goal a season striker. I understand they come at a premium but my point is that goalkeepers are undervalued.

marshal is prob the best goalkeeper in the division is he really worth half of what the top striker is? It doesn't make sense to me.

Also, just because other clubs have paid around the same price for strikers in this division doesn't mean the price isn't ridiculous. It's ridiculous for more than one reason, and the main one being It means fans like us continue to have to pay more and more due to the inflation.

Yes the money in football is ridiculous and I totally agree all the money that's come into the game has gone on players transfer fees and wages with no regard for the fans is a disgrace.

However, given current market values then I don't think 10m for a 20 goal+ a season striker in the championship is ridiculous when compared to what other players in the championship have sold for. A championship left back sold for 8m in the summer and a winger 7m.

He is also 30 this year, 4 years older than Rhodes so wouldn't be worth as much resale value to Boro and they'd get less seasons out of him.

Regardless of whether you think Rhodes looked useless in a useless Blackburn side his numbers speak for themselves.

Whoever they sign, if they do sign any of them, they should be getting a finisher who will fire them into the premier league.

He had no service at all today
If he goes to Borough he will get the service a decent forward requires and will be well worth a £10Mil price tag

After yesterday's win I think it's going to be tough to stop them anyway but the signing of Rhodes (or Mcormack) should give them the insurance.

Keeping clean sheets isn't a problem for them so adding a top striker to their other strikers should see them over the line.
