" Things i hate about Modern football "

Sky and the money that has ruined the game.

Players who kiss the shirt badge ( Will be off when the moneys better )

Stewards.

Transfer windows open/closed, opened/ closed (should be one every year that's it )

Players silly wages.

Modern chants during games from a song that was in the charts 20 years ago.

Glory hunters. ( Show up when its good make excuses any other time of year but really support Man Utd or Liverpool from a Sky remote )

Players who cheat to try and win penalties or get opponents carded.

No atmosphere in modern grounds.

TV pundits who evade the real issue by putting most blame on match officials.

All Seater stadiums.

TV pundits & commentators who treat viewers as if we have never watched a game before in our lives.

Too much live football on TV.

Happy clapping Bovril sippers. ( The sit down crew )

Goal celebrations. Whatever happened to the simple handshake and pat on the back whilst jogging back to the centre circle.

Players who wear t-shirts under their match shirt bearing a banal message.

Players who blatantly abuse match officials at will but are allowed to get away with it.

Fourth officials who fail to add on the correct amount of time for injuries and substitutions. Given the amount of time the ball is out of play, the cheating and feigning of injuries.

Managers who treat the fans like morons with their bullshit post-match & after-match interviews ( did they watch the same game )

Players diving and waving imaginary cards at the ref.

The press and TV media who make up 90% of story's.

Grown men wearing football shirts of their supposed team whilst out shopping with there missis. ( normally Man Utd or Liverpool I see )

Tippy tappy football.

Managers who continue to get jobs despite a string of failures. Only in football are failed bosses rewarded so lavishly with multi-million pound pay-offs and another new job within days.

Foreign owners ( ruined the game )

Clubs who spend every penny they receive from their annual Sky payouts on their already overpaid players and their agents, instead of using it to make ticket prices and merchandise more affordable for the working class supporter.

Coloured boots.

Fans already inside football grounds with banners saying against modern football and its pricing ect. ( Just paid in to watch the game )

Swansea city.

Clubs that change their kit at every given opportunity to make money.

Overpriced club merchandise.

FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley.

The Battle hideous booking systems in an attempt to buy tickets remotely.

Watered down beer and sub standard food within grounds on match days all well over priced clearly.

No real football pubs on match days everyone goes to before/after games these days.

Stats on games.

Other league games played on the same day as the FA Cup final.

Fixtures and kick-off times scheduled at the behest of Sky, often without any consideration for travelling fans.

Divisions Two, Three and Four being re-named The Championship, League One and League Two.

Vincent Tan.

Fans who claim handball within the other teams area every chance they get.

Ridiculous shirt/squad numbering. Revert to one-to-eleven and then subs from 12 onwards ( how hard is it )

The one guy who's next to you or near you who ruins the game with his constant commentary while trying to convince everyone he should be our manager and who should play.

The 'Celebration' applause for any reason these days ( not connected to the club half the time ) that has replaced the respectful minutes silence.

Idiots on internet message boards who make ten accounts to get there point across, abuse people then hide behind a pc.

99p Hotdogs sold for £4 inside the ccs that taste like a rubber dildo ( I don't own one )

Refs who blow up when a player goes within two yards of a goalkeeper even though the goalkeeper run or jumped in to that player he still gets the free kick.

The list could go on :laughing6:

:happy1: :happy1:

Clapping EX players DURING the game.

Cheering Ramsey's goals and singing his name after he scored against us in the 3-0 defeat to Arsenal was sickening. Bellamy at the CC Final too.

By the same token Players who don't celebrate against their former club. f*cking get on with it. It's only a game and you're insulting your current clubs fans.

People on panels just cos they're skin colour or hair colour.

Garth Crooks and Jason Roberts are f*cking crap and only employed because of skin colour.

Dave Kitson because he's ginger.

Players who roll about pretending there legs broke after a dive yet after two steps there running like usain bolt by some miracle.

Mangers who sit with there hands in pockets and never leave the bench seat even if there teams 3-0 down.

Internet message boards.

Betting adverts inside grounds.

Super fans.

Clapping other teams fans in the away end.

Chelsea & man city owners.

Same chants used up and down the country ( Cringeworthy )

Lets face it - modern football is shit.

And you forgot to mention Jason "look at me I'm noisy" Mohammed on the list of annoyance.

Its called positive discrimination in the BBC - racism by everyone else.

Brian Moore - presented with finesse, not decibels.

Modern stadiums, that are half full of women and children and shit atmospheres.......

Re: " Things i hate about Modern football "

Thu Dec 24, 2015 11:00 am

Hahaha some crackers there.

My gripe about modern football is the attitude of the players. They have the luxury of telling the manager where to go as they are on expensive tied down contracts. Chelsea and Mourinho come to mind where the players did not want to play for him. Therefore those players took the attitude onto the pitch and look where it has got the club. No wonder the fans are pissed off with their squad.

Before modern football and exuberant wages you never came across this attitude. In fact you hardly saw a manager getting sacked. Players then did their best if they did not like the set up. Of course there were exceptional circumstances like George Best but to me it is the players of today that are spoiling modern football.

How can you hate the 80's and 90's, best city and Wales trips ever - you did and went and stayed where you wanted to.

And how anyone can say not going away in barry van hire type vans (loads of them of them) unless you have experienced it is unbelievable.

Great days, and you could get a cheap train ticket on a family railcard as a child even if you were 40! :old: :old: :P

Barry van hire.....the vehicles you dare not take on the motorway as they had a habit of breaking down therefore costing a bomb to get recovered.

My mates and I kept to the country roads for away trips. Took all weekend to get to some grounds and back home.

Too young for 80s but 90s by train or transit you couldn't beat it :old:

90s wasn't too bad on the pitch. 3 promotions from the dungeon (ok that meant 2 relegation so), the cup run in 94, play offs 97.
