Milton Keynes Dons Football Club is an English football club based since 2007 at Stadium mk, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, about 56 miles (90 km) north of London. The result of Wimbledon F.C.'s relocation to Milton Keynes from south London in September 2003, the club officially considers itself to have been founded in 2004, when it adopted its present name, badge and home colours. As of the 2015–16 season its first team plays in the Championship, the second tier of English football.

Initially based at the National Hockey Stadium, the club competed as MK Dons from the start of the 2004–05 season. After two years in League One it was relegated to the fourth-tier League Two The club then missed out on promotion in the play offs, before moving to the newly built Stadium MK for the 2007–08 season and won the League Two title under the management of Paul Ince. MK Dons also won the Football League Trophy that year. The team remained in League One until the 2014–15 season when it won promotion to the Championship under the management of Karl Robinson. MK Dons have built a strong reputation for youth development—between 2004 and 2014 the club gave first team debuts to 14 local academy graduates.

Stadium MK

Image

The Club moved to the new stadium in 2007. The stadium cost in the region of £50m to build, and the money has been well spent. As in my opinion it is a 'cut above' some other new comparable stadiums, in terms of quality and standards of spectator facilities. From the outside it has a modern look, with good use of silver coloured cladding and a large amount of glass on view. The most striking feature of the stadium is its roof, which sits high up above the football ground with a large gap between in and the back roof of seating. This allows more natural light to reach the pitch. The stadium is totally enclosed and has a bowl like design.

The overall look of the stadium has recently benefited from the installation of seating into the previously unused upper tier. It certainly now looks a large and imposing stadium, one that is worthy of football at a higher level. It is two tiered, with on three sides having a large lower tier being over hung by a smaller upper tier. The West side of the stadium is slightly different, with the seating areas in the upper tier being replaced by the Director's Box and executive and corporate hospitality areas. Unusually the spacious concourse areas at the back of the lower tier see directly into the stadium, so there is what seems a noticeable gap between the lower and upper tiers is where the concourse is located.

All depends on Slades starting line up....... Bring Fabio and Noone back into the line up and put the opposition under pressure from the start. Mk Dons will be really low on confidence going in to this game so let's get at them and don't let them gain any momentum. Let's not have a repeat of the Brum game where we threw away a golden opportunity for 3pts against a team struggling at home with four regulars missing .
No matter what you think of Craig Noone, he always warrants two opposition players to look out for him, thus giving Anthony Watt and our midfielders the extra space in the middle to get forward and create goal scoring opportunities. The same applies to Fabio on the other side.
It was no surprise to me on Friday night that despite a massive advantage in the possession stakes, and looking good in possession,we only managed a paltry 3 attempts on goal with danger man Watt repeatedly having to come far too deep to receive the ball. Slade should have seen we were clearly unbalanced as an attacking force without Noone, which was a shame after previously smashing 9 goals in a 4 game unbeaten run.
So with our best defender Manga rightly back in the starting line up, and if Slade starts with Fabio and Noone , I predict a 2-0 win for the Bluebirds.

Re: ' GUESS THE SCORE: MK DONS v CARDIFF CITY ' UPDATED DAIL

Wed Dec 23, 2015 9:53 pm

MK Dons head into the first of their festive fixtures against Cardiff with no new problems.

Manager Karl Robinson has some players nursing minor bumps and bruises but nothing that should have an affect on his team selection.

Robinson likes to alternate his midfield and attacking players so Sam Gallagher, Daniel Powell, Josh Murphy, Diego Poyet and Carl Baker will hope to be restored to the starting line-up, although there will not be many changes to the side that lost at Nottingham Forest last weekend.

Defenders Joe Walsh (knee) and Matt Upson (calf) are still not ready for first-team consideration.
Cardiff defender Sean Morrison misses his first Championship game of the season after being ruled out for over a month.

Morrison was forced off in the early stages of Friday's 1-0 defeat at Birmingham and, though Cardiff are waiting for a full report on the 24-year-old's knee injury, they have been told he will be sidelined for between "four to six weeks".

Cardiff had considered recalling Ben Turner from Coventry but he has an ankle problem which may require surgery, so last season's player of the year Bruno Manga will deputise.

Loan striker Tony Watt, who has scored twice in five games, will link up alongside Kenwyne Jones once again with the former Celtic striker expected to complete a £1million move from Charlton in the new year.
