Russell Slade may have to make some changes in order to keep his player fit with three games in six days, including another in just three days time.
Lee Peltier recovered in time to play against Sheffield Wednesday last time out so he will be expected to play once again.

Matt Connolly was another to pass a late fitness test last time out so he should be fit to keep his place in the team. Slade could look to bring Bruno Ecuele-Manga into the side with Cardiff conceding two in each of their last three fixtures.

Idriss Saadi remains out until the new year so he won’t be available.

Match Day Officials v Brentford

The Football League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game against Brentford this midweek.

Cardiff host Brentford on Tuesday December 15 for the game at the Cardiff City Stadium and the match carries a 7.45pm kick off.

Referee: Simon Hooper
Linesmen: Adam Matthews and Marvyn Amphlett
Fourth Official: Stephen Martin

Match Day referee Hooper (Wiltshire) has officiated one Cardiff game this season - the two all draw with Queens Park Rangers on August 15. In that game he didn't show a single card.

He has however already taken in twenty two other matches so far in 2015-16 and in those games, across all competitions and Football divisions, he has handed out a total of 53 yellow cards and two red cards.

He was most card happy in the match between Brighton and Hull on September 12 with a total of five yellows being shown. He also showed five yellows in the match between Charlton and Preston and then Brentford and Queens Park Rangers in October.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of our players edge closer to automatic bans.

Brentford defender hoping Fulham strike will help cement his place ahead of Cardiff trip

Dean back in contention tomorrow but O'Connell won't give up his shirt easily

Clearing his lines: O'Connell in action against Fulham
Jack O'Connell hopes his crucial goal for Brentford on Saturday will go some way towards helping him keep his place tomorrow.

O'Connell has filled in at centre-back for the Bees for the last three games while Harlee Dean sits out a suspension for his red card against Nottingham Forest.

Dean is available again for the midweek trip to Cardiff City and is expected to claim back his place but O'Connell hopes he's not made it any easy decision for Bees boss Dean Smith.

Even if he drops back to the bench, Bees fans will have a lot to be thankful to O'Connell for, having emulated Dean by scoring the equaliser against Fulham

He said: “I don't want to just be here as a stand-in when Harlee or James (Tarkowski) aren't available, I want to be playing every week. There's some healthy competition for places.

“Hopefully the goal will help my case. I scored five goals for Rochdale last season, and if I can do the same for Brentford, I'd be more than happy with that.

“I was told by Keith Hill at Rochdale that adding goals to my game would make me a better player, so I always try to sneak in at the back post and see what I can get on the end of. He had a big influence on my career.

“I've done all I can. I've been given this opportunity and I think I've done enough to keep my place, but if not all I

Don't think we will lose this. A score draw looks a probability but I'm hoping we may scrape a one goal win if we get a bit of luck. Probably end 1-1.

:ayatollah: Matches to keep and eye on tonight :ayatollah:

Cardiff City v Brentford tonight obviously, but also..

Fulham v Ipswich - we are currently one point behind Ipswich, so if they fail to win and we win then we will be back in the top six (unless Sheff Wed win by a bigger margin than we do) :thumbright:

Middlesbrough v Burnley - if we win tonight, and Burnley lose then we can move to within two points of them. Surprising really, given how things look at the start of the season

MK Dons v Sheff Wed - Sheffield Wednesday are level on points with us after the weekend, so we could do with them dropping points at MK Dons

Preston v Birmingham - The Blues will move above us if they win and we fail to

QPR v Brighton - QPR will move level on points with us if they beat the league leaders and we lose

Shrewsbury v Grimsby - the winner will play Cardiff City in the FA Cup 3rd round next month
