' MALKY MACKAY TO RETURN ? '

' COULD MALKY MACKAY RETURN TO SOUTH WALES ? '

Personally I don't see it happening at all but over the last couple of days a few jacks have mentioned Malky Mackay's name, most of them have been saying it in jest, with comments like 'how funny would it be if Malky took over at Swansea and kept us up !' and 'it would be one in the eye for Tan!'

I don't think that many of their fans would welcome Malky Mackay and I very much doubt Huw Jenkins, who really is Mr Anti-Cardiff himself would seriously consider Malky but football does have a habit of providing moments that you would least expect.

Mackay's name does appear on the bookies odds with the shortest price at 28's but even Dave Jones is on there too as well some other wild cards.

For sake of debate, I suppose it could be argued that for Malky himself it would prove to be a job worth taking if the unthinkable did happen, a chance to prove himself and answer his critics on his Premier League credentials after his short stint in the top flight.

As I say I don't think it is a goer at all but imagine if it did. :o

Doubt he'll get a job above league 2, best place for him to re-start his career

Mind you Brenda's assistant ?

Working in London today, a group of lads were talking and seemed confident Rodgers was going back. Other than the fact that he managed there before I've not seen the link. Would he go back? Would they take him back? He knows what style of football they play.

The laughing stock is actually believing this would ever happen. They have a philosophy and they'll stick to it. Malky had no actual philosophy, no plan B and was wasteful in the transfer market. I seem to remember that last season that you were adamant Malky was holding out for jobs and was 'bigger than some clubs' one including two time European Cup winners Nottingham Forest. In the end he took the Wigan job, spent a fortune on wages and more or less got them relegated. He's now been linked to Championship strugglers Charlton. He is NOT a Premier League manager. He's a lower half Championship manager at best

That's what he's won but not what his ability is. McDermott won the league with Reading but how did he fair with Leeds?
Roy Keane won the league with Sunderland but how did he fair with Ipswich?

With funds, the biggest funds in the clubs history. I applaud his achievements in his first season, building a team that achieved a cup final and a sixth placed finish but we all know the money was the reason we got promoted. It was promotion or bust for us really, a three year plan sped up .

Re: ' MALKY MACKAY TO RETURN ? '

Malky is too toxic for any serious team to touch. He could have been a hero with us, but made a severe error of judgement which cost him a top flight career in football. He was very lucky to get another chance to prove himself at Wigan, but then couldn't stop them from getting relegated so now his coaching ability is suspect. I hope he made plenty of money from his time here as that money may have to sustain him for a long time.

I bet he wishes he had never learned to use text on his phone. :sad7:

First season Malky had hardly any funds and the second season he was backed and asked to do a job and did more than what was asked :thumbright: :thumbright:

Many managers over the years have had money thrown at them and what happened, Ole can answer that.
Money helps, but does not guarantee success, another fact :thumbright:

He upset his employer by getting caught in schoolboy banter with racist connotations.

He signed a player for 8million pounds who wasn't even worth 10% of that.

That, too, will be on his CV.

Yes, I've just given credit praising him for the way he managed us in the first season. There was a reason he attracted the Norwich job at the time. Hardly runaway Champions, runaway champions would be the record points haul set by Reading. Newcastle in the 2009/2010 season. I don't see why you can't debate on the examples I've given, you CAN win the league due to finances. What do you make of Malky's failure at Wigan? What do you make of Malky's previous finishes as Watford manager?

Hope he goes there, he would take them down.

I can't see Milky getting a role in the Premier League any time soon but he'd be a good appointment for a Championship club. His achievements here in his two seasons in the Championship were brilliant, failed in the Prem though sadly.

So in season one, he reached a cup final and play offs.

In his second season, he won the Championship.

In his short lived but third season, he got decent results in the Premier League and never dropped into the bottom three.

But he is a lower championship manager.

Yea great basis for your argument, not !!
