" Bolton's only 2nd home defeat of the season "

Sat Dec 05, 2015 5:10 pm

Today was a huge win. Bolton is a very tough place to go to, they're usually very tight and don't score many goals, so I am surprised the game finished 3-2. But we can't have it both ways. Fans moan at Slade when we keep clean sheets playing boring football so you can't moan when we play more open and concede goals as well.

Bolton equalised twice but we showed great character to go ahead again. Then Slade made very sensible substitutions at the end, putting Ameobi on to give us an outlet and Dikgacoi came on to jam up the midfield. It worked and we're now up to 6th! :ayatollah:

Very tough place to go

They've won 1 in 9 games at home this season before today.

You love an exaggeration fair play.

They had also only lost 1 game out of 9 at home. Those stats suggest it's a tough place to go to win a game.

Sorry but very tough places to go are to teams with more than a 10% win rate at home.

A draw was the obvious result given our away form and sounds like a draw was the least Bolton deserved.

We got very lucky today but then we we didn't deserve to drop 2 points on last weeks performance so it's evened itself out.

Those stats show tough place to win AND tough place to lose .

It's a bit sad when you can't give him credit when it's clearly deserved, just because you don't rate him.

It won't be long before you'll have another chance to slag him off don't worry

We won today in spite of Slade. Bolton were the better team.

I take your point, my comment was also to do with the fact Bolton up north isn't the nicest place to go to at this time of year with this miserable weather, as well as the fact it's been a tough place for teams to get a win this season.

I agree it's evened out for us today, although I think the difference today was Slade taking Watt off and replacing him with Dikgacoi after going 3-2 up to make us even more difficult to break down. I think if Slade did a similar substitution after 85 minutes last Saturday, we could have beaten Burnley 2-0.

That's all ifs and buts though of course, I'm just delighted we have got the win today and we're up to 6th.

I just had to check where Bolton are in the table, i thought they must be in the play off mix judging by the comments on this thread.

I thought I saw they had only WON ONE GAME ALL SEASON must be wrong as they are Barcelona at home :?

Where did I say they are Barcelona at home?

8 of the 10 teams who have gone to Bolton this season have failed to beat them. Are you saying all 8 of those teams are rubbish then?

Top of the league Brighton couldn't win at Bolton this season. Only Birmingham have managed to win at Bolton until today. Today was a huge win for us taking us into the playoffs. Try to enjoy it.

Your correct Mate, the stats point to it being a difficult place to get a win, Brighton and Derby have failed to win there, A good 3 pts and we are finally scoring goals  :bluescarf:

I've never rated Slade but to be fair in my opinion he grew in stature today by dropping Whittingham. I think he now needs to crack on and learn some tactics too, but I'll give him credit for today's win.

Definitely not.

Plus I am actually right when I criticise Tim Hartley for his comments about the English Football League. You are talking complete shite in comparison to Tonteg's post today.

You made a clown of yourself with Tim Hartley. Like the guy or not he goes home and away with City and Wales, raising money for charity in the process, whilst you dress up as a women sitting in your armchair pouring scorn on proper football fans.

How do you work that out? His comments on the EFL rebrand were ridiculous. A lot of people agreed with my view.

I don't dislike him. How can I dislike someone I haven't met. I merely feel a member of the trust who made the views he did and having it attributed to the trust and therefore club made my club look bad.

I don't particularly agree with his comments but you questioned who he was to have his say. The truth is he's far more entitled to have his say on "your club" than most fans in our fanbase. Certainly more entitled than you who doesn't even go to the games

There's a reason I don't go. I have put my time in supporting my club so am entitled to an opinion. I was wrong with Tim Hartley as I took his presence there being as part of the trust which I felt was a mistake as he was discredited however you are right as it was open to all Cardiff fans it's right he was there as a Cardiff fan.
