Proving people wrong again

Sat Nov 07, 2015 6:31 pm

After Tuesday's dismal defeat away to Leeds, some Slade backers gave in and said he should go, but after today's comfortable home win at the hands of Reading, we now sit just there points off the play offs, which considering he is "out of his depth", is decent really.

Today we were totally in control, and although it was still not a fantastic performance, we eased to victory even without a suspended Whittingham, and injured Macheda and Fabio.

We now sit just one win of a play off spot, yet most of you still want our manager out?! :sladein: :sladein:

We were 3 points off the playoffs before we kicked a ball today. Nothing changes. That loss against Leeds was shocking performance wise so we had to win today and win well.

Macheda hasn't played this season so you might as well add Turner and co to that list too. Do you think Macheda is going to make a difference then? He's a lazy so and so and as fragile as glass. Main difference today was Marshall in goal, Ralls in the middle and Jones up front. 3 points in the bag so I'm happy but Slade cannot manage at this level and is tactically inept. He won't make us a force in this division. :sladeout:

You have to take into account the opposition and what form they are in.

Reading went into this game in not much better form than us. Their last 4 games have resulted in 3 draws and one lose. 2 of those teams have sacked their manager, Rotherham and Huddersfield, and a really out of sorts Fulham. Although Reading were above us they are a team struggling and were exactly what we needed to come up against to get ourselves back on track.

He is, the footballs not great but we've only conceded 2 goals in the last seven games four games were away. Keep clean sheets and you got a chance. We had a lot of players out at leeds

If whitts wasn't banned Slade would have played him.

Slade hasn't a clue, only makes changes when players are injured or banned.

He has to go

Re: Proving people wrong again

He is the same manager after the Leeds game as he was after this win. In fact I'd say he has been pretty consistent with decisions and interviews throughout his time here. :sladeout:

If Jones wasn't injured we may have won a few more games and we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Jones makes a massive difference......

Ralls in the middle, shouldn't lose another game his season.

yes true but then we didn't have jones as an outlet in previous weeks, so hard to say how whitts would have played with jones in as different set up! :old:

But in any case Allan surely the sensible choice for Slade (bar injuries) is to keep a winning side. I think it would show a hitherto unseen level of professionalism and could only add to his credibility?

To be honest I feel a lot of people DO have a personal issue with Slade and I honestly think it's because of their hatred towards Tan.

MARSHALL was Man of the Match, so-called and that speaks volumes!

A welcome victory but not a convincing one!

Eleven, you say? How many birthdays can one person have in a calendar year? :?

Re: Proving people wrong again

Reading without 7 first teamers and Marshall mom - tells a story I think

Good result but 1 swallow doesn't make a summer

Re: Proving people wrong again

Sun Nov 08, 2015 8:27 am

Thing is only striker we have is Jones. Mason again yesterday was no where good enough. Saadi hopefully can link up well with Jones let's see. Or why not give Ameobi game time up front?? Can't be worse than Revell?

Re: Proving people wrong again

Sun Nov 08, 2015 8:33 am

I'm not a Slade basher but I think it was Marshall who won the game for us today, not Slade!

Re: Proving people wrong again

Sun Nov 08, 2015 8:58 am

How did we batter them? and how was that a comfortable victory? when our goalkeeper was MOM !! If I was a Reading fan watching that yesterday, I would have walked away from the ground wondering why they didn't get a point out of that game. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed the game and the win made it even better.

Re: Proving people wrong again

Sun Nov 08, 2015 9:23 am

We will see how astute he is now, if he puts whitts back in cm then forget it the guy is a fool. If we didn't have such an outstanding keeper we prob wouldn't have won either from what I heard. Such a shame Tan is so clueless, this league is so here for the taking but he obviously isn't interested in getting his money back.....

James, we played a poor Reading team yesterday and won, we did ok but Slades tactics are the problem and that's why most of "us" want him out. He is clueless and just got lucky yesterday
Oh and if it wasn't for Marshalls fabulous saves we would have lost, it's a good job we have the best keeper in the championship and Scotland's number One :sladeout:

His hand was forced today as Whittingham was suspended. Let us see what team he plays in the next game. Personally I would stick with our starting XI V Reading - a winning one :bluescarf: :sladeout:
