My View/Opinion

:ayatollah: " FORCED TO MAKE CHANGES AND IT PAYS OFF " :ayatollah:

An improved City team who finally showed some fight and attacking football

Putting Joe Ralls in the middle for me made a hell of a difference, which Slade was forced to do, please don't bring Whittingham back.

Slade was under pressure to deliver a victory and he did.

CARDIFF CITY 2 READING 0 :thumbright: :thumbright:

Marshall, Peltier, Malone, Morrison, Connolly, Pilkington, Ralls, Gunnarsson, Noone, Mason, Jones.
Subs Moore, Tamas, Dikgacoi, O'Keefe, Kennedy, Ameobi, Saadi.

Crowd 15,414

Away Support 1,500 approx

City went in to this game without a City player scoring since 3rd October and having just lost at struggling Leeds United, but Reading also had their own problems having not won for 5 games and with 6 key players missing today, so the pressure was on both clubs to get a result today.

Both sides attacked each other for the first 25mins

City were showing a lot more desire today.
But in the 39th min a mistake by Gunnarsson let Reading through and thankfully Marshall made a one handed great save :ayatollah:

43rd minute a free kick taken by Joe Ralls followed by a header from Kenwyne Jones and bang 1-0 City :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Possession City 57% Reading 43%

Half-time City 1 Reading 0 :ayatollah:

In the 52nd min a Joe Rall corner for City and a great header in from Connolly 2-0 City :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

61st min another great save by Marshall :ayatollah:

62nd min Joe Mason replaced by Ameobi

76th min Kenwyne Jones replaced by Saadi(making his debut
Immediately Saadi had his first shot and was well saved by the Reading keeper.

79 and 80th min Marshall made two good saves :ayatollah:

Even Craig Noone today made a couple of good runs

For me Kenwyne Jones and Joe Ralls were the main difference today :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Some great saves by Marshall :ayatollah:

Final Score CITY 2 READING 0 :thumbright: :ayatollah:

My Man of the Match Joe Ralls :ayatollah:

Now an International break and lets hope we can have Fabio and a few others back for our next League game :ayatollah:

Agree about the Ralls for Whittingham.

MoM Marshall in a 2-0 win does not seem right.

Good performance compared to Tuesday night....now I'm worried about Slade reverting to bringing back Whitts.

Just what the doctor ordered Jones shows how much he makes a difference up front Saadi looks promosing and Ralls MOTM he ran the show in midfield today. :thumbright: :ayatollah:

I'm a big Whitts fan but he must keep Ralls in the middle.

Totally agree Ryan, Ralls ran the midfield :sladeout:

Good game. Saadi was holding his hamstring towards the end though, and limping - not a good sign!

Cheers Annis :ayatollah:

Sorry I couldn't make it today, but a good win. As you say, hopefully we can get a few players back after the break.

You're right, Slade needed a win after the last few weeks. Kenwyne being back is a huge positive.

Ned, Totally understand and missed you, but look forward to seeing you at the next home game :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Slade needed this win big time

Ralls needs to keep his place in the middle.

Well done to slade and the side today, but i hope to see that hes learned that ralls gives so much more in the middle

Carl posted yesterday that Whittingham's suspension could turn out to be a blessing in disguise. Marshall definitely MOTM but a word for Craig Noone who had his best game so far this season :sladein:

Annis.. On today's showing I would defiantly agree, however don't let Tenerife Blue know his precious Whitts place is potentially under threat however I unfortunately can see Slade recalling him into the starting 11

Snap....

Jones makes us half decent.........

Mason adds nothing, in fact its just a waste of a jersey

Ralls needs to sign a massive contract extension, next years captain, no make him captain now.

Gunnar in the mud, negates his lack of footballing ability but gives us heart and strength.

Best keeper in the league by far helps though

Played well today, hope it continues, if it means giving Whitts a rest - so be it :bluescarf:

Personally I would play whitts and ralls in the centre and Dikacoi holding, with just Jones upfront and noone pilkington on the wings

Tony, it certainly did :thumbright:

Marshall was again outstanding, I gave it to Ralls as I thought he had his best game of the season and controlled the midfield :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Malone was excellent but Peltier was a leader.

Malone for Fabio could have made the difference, he was solid

Ralls must stay in the middle, love witts but it showed today. KJ won't work but take him for what he is, do the work for him and he will Finnish. Idris looks like he's done his hamstring wish would be a massive blow as he might have something about him

Mason is a waste of space, shame really as I had high hopes for him but he's not good enough at this level

Llan, I'm a massive Fabio fan, so I would never put Malone first, also even when Fabio makes mistakes, he goes straight back and gets the ball back and never gives less than 110% :ayatollah:
