That is an incredibly good question MJ and I'm buggered if I know the answer. I think one would havee to be blessed with a top end degree in Psychology and Sociology to even begin to be able to theorise on this one!

This is a case of a rich idiot playing a game which he doesn't understand. Trouble is for us it aint a game...its the club we love!

It would be an easier question to answer if you addressed the elephant in the room.We wouldn't even be here talking about it without Tan's intervention. For that reason I like many others respect him for that and will refrain from jumping on the internet bullshit bandwagon.

Re: Why is Tan still liked by supporters ?

Agreed. I still haven't forgiven him for the way he spoke about us like dirt, labelling the 5% and saying someone other fan would replace us. We'll vinny, looks likes you were wrong huh because now your pulling out every stop in the book out of pure desperation

Re: Why is Tan still liked by supporters ?

He is a business man and that is all he is.

The return to blue was a business decision as he knew he fucked up. Still so stubborn that he puts that stupid little piss take of a worm on the badge. Which eventually means when he goes we'll have a new badge.

The club is the brand, and he has changed us so much fans don't feel the same way about the club. Maybe he doesn't understand as where he is from they specialise in manufacturing cheap shit that westerners buy for pennies.

The sooner he goes the better.

As far as I can tell he has shown no interest in sorting our finances out.

Spot on. I'm baffled by it too. Maybe some still like the free red scarve he gave them.

For me, he has destroyed a proud club and loyal / passionate fan base.

Yes he came in when we were in serious financial trouble, but any of us that have been around long enough will know only to well, this was not the first time HMRC were in process of getting us wound up. The local milkman even refused to deliver any fresh milk to ninian park due to unpaid bills and the first team used a different coach provider every week as most in South Wales hadnt been paid. But back then there were a few thousand fans that would never consider walking away however bad things got.

Now, many of these people HAVE walked away since tans arrival - surely that says so much?

I dont know anyone who likes him, obvious there are a few who want him out more avidly than others....

out of interest, If we had done the prem without his backing, do you think that when we came down the following season the missing fans would have stuck around?

trouble is, all the so called "fans" - u know the ones that dont come anymore and just like bumping their gums every opportunity - dont give a sh*t and wouldnt come back if Tan left anyway. Oh yeah, and as soon as our players fk off cos they are not getting paid, and we get docked pointsthat will really improve fans returning... FFS

If you look at it rationally Tan deserves respect due to his financial intervention which stopped us going bust in 2010. He also delivered Premiership football and has invested well into the stadium infrastructure which has given us a modern stadium to be proud of.

He made an absolute massive error with the introduction of the rebrand and I'm sure he understands that as he paid a heavy personal price for it.

Like you I will not join a pathetic witch hunt or display a sheep like mentality by slagging him off just because everyone else does. Why anyone is surprised that he doesn't hold us in his esteem anymore is beyond me? Put it this way if I had thrown away £130m on a fan base and all they can do is call me a c*** over a mistake which I have rectified then I would think bollocks to you as well.

Of course they flipping wouldn't. Tan is a lazy excuse for those who are in affect plastics but need somewhere to dump the blame.

WOW, Tony! That's hit the proverbial nail straight on the head and is the main reason I don't spend my life embittered by "all things Tan"

I don't have to like much of what he's done, but we were going bust (no matter what anyone else says) before he arrived and kept the club afloat!

That alone deserves a certain appreciation! ;)

How can Tan get any respect?

He has killed our club.

(to financially bail out then rip it apart does not earn respect in my opinion)
A season in the premier - in the manner it happened and the pain that surrounded it, was it worth it?

Tan is an individual that buys his friends and it looks like he has bought a couple here.

The dislike of Tan is all his own doing. How does the saying go, money can't buy love.

Re: Why is Tan still liked by supporters ?

How has he killed our club?

I agree massively that Tan is an excuses for the floating fans.

Lets be brutally honest, once the price freeze was over and we didn't go straight back up to the Premiership our crowds were
always going to fall back down to the 13-15,000 mark same as they were pre FA Cup Final/Price Freeze introduction.

We managed to attract fans with the dangling carrot of the Premier League for a few years and now that's come and gone so have the 'fans'.

If we went back up to the Premiership, next season the place would be packed, even if we were in Red. That is the simple fact of the matter.

It's not his own doing. Sam did worse and Ridsdale far worse.

Tan has been a better owner than both of them due to the financial stability he has brought. I know you will say about the debt but we aren't facing court every month and the only reason we aren't buying players is because he is trying to balance the books rather than not being allowed to.

Why the f**k would he do that?

If a suitable buyer was found I am 99% sure he would sell up. He's lost a fair bit of interest. I just don't see him paying off debts, he doesn't care enough. He will just continually hire chairmen to do the job for him and ask for a report at the end of the season on how things went.
