Bluebirds boss Russell Slade under pressure as #SladeOut trends on Twitter in Cardiff

Wednesday 4 Nov 2015

BY MATTHEW SOUTHCOMBE

A surge of tweets calling for the Cardiff City manager to be sacked came after his side lost 1-0 away at Leeds United

In the wake of Cardiff City's 1-0 defeat to Leeds, a surge of messages appeared on Twitter from angry Bluebirds fans calling for manager Russell Slade to be sacked.

#SladeOut was trending in the Welsh capital as the fans vented their frustration after a poor showing in Yorkshire.

Managing just one shot on goal in the opening 45 minutes, a Bluebirds player failed to find the back of the net once again at Elland Road, extending a run that has lasted over a month and spanned six matches.

Despite the Bluebirds sitting ninth in the table, just three points off the play-off spots, fans are walking away from the Cardiff City Stadium, with just 13,371 - a record low - watching their win against Middlesbrough at the end of last month.

We started the seaon ok and we looked a far better side than last season. The last 5 or 6 weeks the football has been shocking and back to the poor football of last season, no penetration no pace in the side and a few players and a manager who look out of their depth. With 2 players added a creative midfielder and a quick striker and the right manager this squad could make the play offs no problem.

With a decent manager the championship this season is for the taking.

Act now Mr Tan.

We started well when Slade first took over as manager, and thats only down to players playing their natural game, i honestly think Slades ways takes this away from the players.. :sladeout: :sladeout:

What has changed since start of season ? We were doing ok without setting the world on fire, fans were patient. Now we can't score a score, is it because Jones has been out ? We do not have an alternative method of play.
Without booing on Saturday, time to chant 'attack, attack, attack attack attack' !

To be honest, the sooner he goes, the sooner the players can step up and take some initiative. There are creative players in the side. Just give them a chance to shine. I'm not naïve enough to think it will be a good thing to throw caution to the wind, but at least some fighting spirit may reemerge.

trollope is the coach is he not? if the football is "coached out of the players" as you state then its clear where you think the blame lies.

What has changed last season?

Gunnerson has replaced Dikascoi

Noone has replaced Pilkington

Revell has replaced Jones

Although Slades tactics are one dimensional with no plan B it was when the above changes were made that we went from a team steadily improving to a team reverting back to last seasons boring shite.

I know plenty will disagree but for me Noone and Gunnerson are garbage and Revell should never have been signed. Unfortunately with Dikascoi injured and a pointless strike force we are now quickly going to start sliding down the table. :(

Re: " A Campaign started last night by City Fans "

Surely the club can see that the Slade "brand" of football is driving fans away - There used to be a regular gang of around 10 of us who would't miss a city game (home or away) for anything and the majority of us being fans in excess of 45 years with most of us being season ticket holder during this time, so we have seen many an up and down time at the club and not "glory hunters" which is a term I despise personally.

Last home game there were 2 of us, with lethargy taking over with any reason / excuse for the rest of our gang not to be at the game and with specific frustration at the quality of football being played, regardless of the Tan factor and all the other noise going on in the background, we have had worse than this over the years to contend with.

This is the first Saturday coming up for as long as I can think of that I won't be attending a home game - I just don't want to go!! :sladeout:

I dont mind watching a game whether we win or lose or draw, as long as we try and play decent football in the process.

If we go down fighting in a game - then at least we have tried and probably learnt from it.

But having to watch this sort fo rubbish week in / week out and now season in / season out - Ive had enough to be totally honest.

I'd rather have Bellers in or Holloway or Warnock

#sladeout for me

I know it's an emotive subject but a positive and alarming way to wake the club up would be not to go to the game on Saturday.

If the crowd was well below 10000 then even the most stupid CEO and crew would have a big problem.

Yeah I know it's about supporting the team etc but it appears the players are not playing for RS, so they are not going to play or improve with him still in charge.

Take a Saturday off and listen to it on the radio or whatever.

Watch the coverage as it's announced that the crowd is sparse.

Job done, quick easy no marches and see what happens.

Someone has list the plot down there and it will continue without change. :sladeout:

In my younger days I used to attend home and away matches without being a season ticket holder, but over the past ten years or so I bought a ST. I remember standing on the Bob Bank with 2000 crowds but I used to enjoy it as the team were still entertaining the fans. After Slade came in it's got so boring I have not bought a ST for this year and I have not been to a single game - MY CHOICE. :bluebird:

What I can say is, that as long as the games are not entertaining I will NOT be wasting my money :sladeout:

It's not just the initial line up and starting formation/tactics....

During the game. He's doesn't know how to adopt a different approach! He just goes with the same.... He's sticks to his old fashioned tried, tested and failed routine! He's doesn't know how to mix it up! His changes tend to be like for like players into the same role and set up!
Sometimes u need to change your shape or personnel depending on the other teams setup and play! he just doesn't do that! We get quickly found out....

I am tending to agree with this

Other teams are now starting to pull away and we need to sort it out now!

I had started to change my view of Russell Slade, but he doesn't appear to have any answers to our goalscoring drought and/or the will to try something else

Equally, he doesn't appear to have the financial backing of Tan and a review of his signings show that the majority haven't worked and those he has released (on loan or otherwise) would have been better staying at the club!

Who is out there? Well, personally I would consider Dave Jones. I know that will irk one or two, but he did well here before on a limited budget and he apparently has the ear (and trust) of Vincent Tan ;)

Totally agree, the game against Hull, although we lost I thought the football we played was outstanding, but on reflection we still didn;t create anything, I am not not going to slag our forwards off because both Mason and Revell are honest hard working players but even with the crap service they getting I still believe they are out of their depth ( as is Slade ) so we need someone who can feed off KJ, and start banging in the goals :ayatollah:

The sentiment of NI's post is correct however I think any team who has a decent striker has a brilliant chance of pissing this league
