Joe Cole has held talks with Tim Sherwood over his Aston Villa future and is keen to join a Championship club on loan, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Cole is determined to play first-team football and has not started a game since Sherwood’s appointment in February.

Different type of player anyway. Cole is a winger/attacking midfield player where Whits position as changed over recent years. Pilks would be the obvious one to drop for Cole.

Thought it was odd signing for them injury prone and way past his best days

How bizarre that people would take a player who's hardly played in 3 seasons never mind contributed over Whitts who's hardly missed a game and been top assists for years.

Now he is, quite clearly. Cole hasn't been able to get a game at the last three clubs he's been at.

I saw him in one game for Villa last season and he was a pale, sad, shadow of the the player you clearly remember!

Joe Cole in a central midfield two, I don't think so.

If we had him he would probably play masons role.
