" DISASTER ? ? "

We played our best football for over a year v Hull City on Tuesday at home :thumbright: and lost 2-0

Today we played worse than awful against Rotherham who have the worst record of conceding goals in the entire football League and were bottom of the Championship before today.
Yes we played just over 45mins with 10 men,but we were awful before Marshall went off.

Is today a disaster against a team likely to be relegated and straight after our defeat v Hull City or should we not look to much in to today's reuslt and performance ? ?

We did play appalling today,I never went, but was kept updated for the whole game.

Is Disaster to harsh ??

Could it be damaging for the rest of the season, that's what I mean by disaster??

Opinions Ciry fans ?

Ryan, I really really hope so,but you know I have No faith in Slade.

Let's bounce back v Charlton next Saturday :thumbright: we can't afford a 3rd defeat on the bounce.

In my opinion Rotherham dragged us down to thier level but without Marshall getting himself sent off I believe we would have got something out of the game. It was a poor quality game but Rotherham, thanks to Marshall, were gifted the points.

Having said all that following 2 defeats in a row next week is now an absolute MUST win game as losing can become a habit and we must now go on a run of unbeaten games, or the playoffs will quickly become a pipedream.

Team created nothing before Marshall sent off..

We were lucky to get penalty.

Slade inept !

Marshall needs to sort that attitude out.

Mid table mediocrity!

I couldn't go today. A win would have put us second and as much as I'm happy drawing away, we really should be beating Rotherham as these types of games can significantly impact the points tally if we are in the mix towards the end of the season. I'm a massive Marshall fan and I think he'll be angry with himself for reacting, which surprised me as its happened before. The reflection sounds unlucky but the comments about how we generally performed today are a bit of a concern, given that we did well on Tuesday. I'm not going to read much into this but am disappointed with the performance and sending off against a team that should have yielded 3 points.

Why did Slade change the successful formula we started with? i.e Pilkington and Jones starting and Ameobi coming off the bench?

Depends on people's expectations. I did'nt get over excited when we won a couple of games, and I'm not particularly concerned just because we've lost a couple. As I've said since day one, I believe we have enough quality to stay well clear of the relegation battle, but I honestly don't think that we will be close to the promotion battle. As I have also said a number of times, I think Slade is here to steady the ship during a severe cost cutting excercise. His record of getting clubs promoted obviously was'nt the reason he was appointed, and I think he is more than capable of keeping us in the championship, despite having very limited funds available for top quality players. Way too early to worry about a couple of losses, as plenty of others have said, lets see where we are after 12 to 15 games.

We were shit today. Would'nt have complained if we lost 3-1 or even 4-1. Thanks to Marshall we had no choice to play the way we did second half, but why Slade kept Whittingham on all game, is beyond me and those sat around me. He contributed nothing to our backs to the wall effort.

Gary, Yes there is a lot of truth in that, but against the worst team in the Leagyes, a quality side like ours should be able to tear teams like them apart.

2 defeats in a row, please City bounce back and show character and take it out on Charlton on Sat :thumbright:

Hardly a disaster but we should be winning these games, I posted this morning our record against the bottom team is horrendous almost a jinx in Ccfc history! Remember posh the year we went up? It's almost am shoe in we would lose.

But most have us have seen enough from this division over the years to know this happens, Malkys team had great bounce back ability and that is needed in a division where these results are not uncommon. Bristol city put 4 past boro in their own backyard, have a glance at the table tonight. Saturdays game is huge, would have liked us to take a point

Annis you have seen enough of the championship to know its rare teams tear each other apart, just doesn't happen that regular more consistency and being able to bounce back.

Disaster is a huge exaggeration. Disaster in what context? It's not as though we were ever going to be promoted. What it proves to me is that we will be a mid table side. Not good enough to beat the top teams like Hull, not strong enough to beat the crap teams away like Rotherham.

You won't win every game but today said more than the defeat on Tues, but it's fine lines. 11 men who knows what the result would have been and all would be on here saying one defeat in 8 etc, a long season with plenty of ups and downs :bluebird:
